Luo Lin transmigrates to an alternate world and becomes the new King of the Kingdom of Qian. At this critical juncture, Luo Lin binds himself to the “Foolish Monarch System.” According to the system, as long as he ruins his kingdom’s fortunes, he can become the Lord of Earth itself, sharing its fate, ruling over life and death, and living for billions of years!

Thus, Luo Lin begins his reign of chaos.

– Allowing the harem to interfere in state affairs? “Fine! Empress, come, sit beside me and help review these memorials!”

– Ministers resigning? “Approved! Now, summon back those exiled officials and promote them!”

But gradually… things take an unexpected turn.

“His Majesty the King of Qian is wise! Today marks the day our great Qian unites the six nations!”

The court officials and generals cheer as one…

Pretty meh. The concept starts off fairly interesting, one of those where the protagonist is promised eternal life/wealth/power/control/etc if he acts like a bad ruler/CEO/boss/young master/etc, but whenever he tries to rule poorly, the consequences run massively in his favor, then he gets rewards given to him (though not the promised 'grand prize').

I can't even call 'misunderstandings' as the genre, though that's the closest to it. But it's more like the main character has infinite plot armor. When done right it's basically about how 'spending foolishly' - aka actually being... more>> lavish towards your employees - means you get rewarded by their loyalty. It's pretty Slice of Life almost. The MC putters around, and actually has an Imperial Harem (the romance is so small it might as well be non-existent).

So it's not too bad, until the extreme nationalism and racism starts to set in. This has to be one of the most ridiculous examples of pure racist writing I've actually read. MC is the King of one of the pre-unification countries of China (so like Qi, Qian, Chu, etc), and when he goes to war with the others, it somehow turns into victory and subjugation for him. (He also gets magic troops from the system that appear out of nowhere and he doesn't have to feed them and stuff like that, so OF COURSE he wins wars... having completely impossible forces randomly show up where they can't possibly exist would be a nightmare for warfare). So yeah, he wins, subjugates country X, incorporates their economy, marries a princess, etc.

Oh, but Japan? No, that's not a real country, it's just a pirate haven. Castrate all the men, take them as s*aves, and capture all the women for breeding. No, not exaggerating here. Leave the children and the old people to starve, but if they keep attacking just chop off all their limbs and soon the low-quality Japanese brainwashing will fade.

...I'm sorry what? But what about the other neighboring country that invaded you? What, you just let them off? Well ok then. They're Chinese after all. That's fine. Japanese though? No, ens*ave and or r*pe them all, got it.

...

yeah.

So anyway, the story started off fairly interesting as long as you go with the ridiculous deus-ex-machina setting and system, but anytime the nationalism and racism starts up it just becomes unbearable. <<less
