At first, I was quite mad at the husband. He has been gone for 7 years, starting a few days after their marriage without visiting once. However, when he comes back, we can see how good he is. He is really respectful to the FL because she has been caring about his family and son for 7 years, help her with the chores, give her the money to manage and so on. The fact that he did not comes back when his father was dying shows that he really cannot went home all these years. Overall, the story is good.

FL is also a hardworking and smart girl, she knows what to do to achieve her goals and having a modern mindset despite being born in that era. She is not reborn or transmigrated, she learns from mistake and her surrounding which makes her an open-minded and perceptive person

their child also not the usual well-behaved that mature beyond their age child like other novel. He is really naughty, like to steal other people food, fight other kids and run around. Just your average naughty boy. This novel shows how FL and ML as parents try so hard to discipline their child. For me, this is very logic. There is no child in a world that understand adult advice just by saying it once or twice, sometimes they have to face the wall to realise their mistake and sometimes the parents cannot help the child to clean up the mistakes so the lesson will deeply embedded in their mind. As example, before ML arrives, FL always punish and scold her son but it went one ear and out another. Her son remember the beating but not the mistake he did so after ML arrive he advice FL to try let it go and see their son reaction

as other characters, there is not much to say except for Shi Fafang being a fly, buzzing everywhere but she is still no match for FL and low iq scheming so not much anger accumulate.
