I absolutely loved this story and now, for a while, will be stuck with the sour hangover, eagerly searching for something similar. Sigh...

I'm drawn to stories that don't shy away from the emotional complexity and this was exactly that - deep, psychological and raw.

This story is about relationship and two people happening to each other in a messy, twisted and far from normal way. But it never felt unbelievable. I accepted both of them for who they are and followed their difficult journey to each other with mucho gusto.

Some books... more>> require patience to build interest. This one made me nodding along from the very first paragraph through the whole prologue and that's how I was blood-bound to this character's journey. His reasoning, logic, his calm and adequate though process, his self-awareness earned my respect, curiosity and anticipation for everything that would follow.

So, no fluff, "what the actual f**k" at times and very good advices from the main carecter how to survive through the darkest times in life - all you you can find here in this brilliant but twisted story. Enjoy. Mwah! <<less

I picked up this novel after reading Eighteen's Bed because I wanted more unhinged high school psychos.

And this one? Absolutely insane. If anything, I found it even darker than Eighteen's Bed.

Before diving in, I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings. This book isn't just dark—it's pitch black. But if you can handle anything, then go in blind. It's best experienced that way.

The Story:

This isn't your typical romance. Love, obsession, betrayal, and destruction intertwine, dragging the characters into a relentless cycle of pain and passion. It's not an easy read. It's messy, brutal, and sometimes outright insane. But it's also gripping in a way that makes it impossible to look away.

It didn't really feel like a redemption. If anything, it felt more like Seonwoo sinking into Park Sion's murky depths rather than Sion truly changing.

If you can't stand toxic, obsessive characters winning, this might not be for you. But if you love psychological drama, unhinged emotions, and relationships that toe the line between love and ruin—buckle up. This one is a ride.

The Characters:

Yoon Seonwoo

Seonwoo is strong-willed and fiercely independent. He's been through more than most could handle, yet he refuses to break under pressure. He stands his ground even when the world seems against him, determined to carve out his own path. But beneath his resilience is someone who still feels deeply—who longs for human connection, for something real, even if he won't admit it.

Park Sion

Sion is the kind of person who draws people in effortlessly—charming, confident, and seemingly easy to read. But there's something about him that always keeps you guessing. He's persistent, intense, and impossible to ignore. Once he sets his sights on something, he doesn't let go. He's a psycho overall lol. Definitely black flag in my opinion. He's the top for those who are curious. I still found myself liking him in the end (only in fiction will I like men like this)

Their Relationship:

Their connection is undeniable—a tango of love, obsession, and insanity. Their relationship is difficult to define because of how many times it shifts between push and pull.

They kiss, then try to kill each other. Literally.

The Side Characters:

I also really liked the two side characters, Shin Jaeyoung and Kim Youngjin.

Shin Jaeyoung is a cryptic as*hole you'll probably hate—and yet, somehow, I ended up liking him in the end. It's a full-on love-hate relationship with that guy.

Kim Youngjin, on the other hand, completely took me by surprise. If there's a "best guy around" character, it's him. And honestly? I sympathize with this dude.

Overall Thoughts:

Despite everything, I still found this story enjoyable—not because it was light or easy to read, but because of how intensely it was written. You feel everything. The raw emotions, the pain, the hatred, the passion—it all hits like a drug, a dark dopamine high.

This novel felt even more intense than Eighteen's Bed, but at some point, it stopped feeling like walking on eggshells—unlike Eighteen's Bed (where Kang Jun's cautiousness drove me up the wall with anxiety).

Did I enjoy reading it? Yes.

Would I recommend it? Not to everyone. This story isn't for people who want things to be perfectly good and morally right, but for a certain kind of reader? It delivers.

This is not a "feel-good" story. It's raw, messy, and will probably leave you questioning your own morals. But if you like psychological tension, intense character dynamics, and toxic relationships that go way past the point of no return, then this novel is one hell of a read.
