Zhang Xiaowan’s family had always been poor, but as she grew older, they managed to scr*pe by. Soon, she was on the verge of marriage, but the man she was engaged to had no affection for her. Despite this, she resigned herself to muddling through. She then moved to the capital, where she crossed paths with another transmigrated woman. This comparison made Zhang Xiaowan realize she had been living a depressing life. Yet, life had to go on. She had raised her younger siblings, gotten married, and started a family. What else could she do but continue living as a struggling transmigrated woman in an unforgiving era, even if her life was far from ideal?

"Transmigrated into a Poor Farmer’s Daughter" is a touching and realistic story that shows the strength, sacrifice, and hope of its female lead. After being transported into a poor family’s life, she doesn’t give up. Instead, she works hard to improve not just her own future, but her whole family’s life.

What makes this story special is how true-to-life it feels. The struggles she faces—poverty, hunger, and hardship—are not sugarcoated. Yet, she stays strong, hopeful, and determined. Her willingness to sacrifice for her loved ones shows how selfless and inspiring she... more>> is.

This novel stands out because it’s not just fantasy—it feels real. It shows that even in the hardest times, a strong will and a kind heart can make a big difference. <<less

Hi, I'm Bambi! I read this novel in 2022, and I still, to this day, think about it. I have to be honest with you: this is an angsty read. You will cry, and you will be mad. You will hate the male lead, and you will hate this fictional world.

Zhang Xiaowan does not have rights or power in this world, like she does in our modern world. She will suffer a lot. I think it's one of the most truthful depictions of transmigration: the ache of not belonging, of being stranded in a place where you don't want to be, unable to be back home. This is, in many senses, a horror novel. One of the most important themes of the story is helplessness.

I want to translate this novel because I'm alone in this suffering with Xiaowan, and I need someone to read it too, cry with me, and scold the author with me.

The first one volume is extremely distressing (read the tags) , and if you feel like you won't be able to bear it, leave for your peace of mind.

As for the style. There are repetitive phrases or words to drive a point. I've read this author's other works, and I can tell you it's her writing style. (All she does is write angst and make her readers cry...) In this first chapter, for example, there's some already. As a translator, I will do my best to edit it properly.

Though it's a depressing novel, I still appreciate its study of human nature. In this sense, it's a rewarding novel because of its emotional depth. <<less
