Conspiring with her mother to impersonate the princess, Philomel – a fake princess who caused the war by separating the tower and the empire – is executed when all sins are found. Truly suited to be the villain…..

“I mean, it’s not enough to kill the Philomel in the book for her mistakes!” Philomel shouted and threw the book she was reading. She was just curious about the suspicious book she picked up in the garden, but the Princess Philomel in the book, just die!

“Which big guy wrote a novel with the background of the real imperial family?”

I want to believe that it is only fiction, but somehow everything that happens after that looks exactly like the book. “As long as this happens… the only goal is survival!” 9-year-old Philomel changes her reputation to survive, finds Ellencia, the emperor’s real daughter, and leaves for a new life. But…

“Come find my daughter right now!” The emperor, who knew he’d hate her, opened his eyes and looked for her.

“I’m here. Come back with me to the Imperial Palace.” As well as her fiancé, who had seemed uninterested in her.

“What’s wrong with coming to see my daughter?” Even her biological father begins to intrude into her life?

Will Philomel be able to reveal the identity of the suspicious book and find her new life? A long romance fantasy.

This story has dug itself into a corner of my heart. It has 'Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess' vibes but I find this one a tad more heartbreaking (so far) because MC didn't transmigrate into her body. She was 9 years old and she found out that her father didn't love her, that she wasn't his daughter in the first place, and that she's going to die at his hands.

I found absolutely heartbreaking the part where she overhears the maids, who she always thought were her friends,... more>> talk crap about her. Esp when one of them says she hates her. IMAGINE BEING 9 AND HEARING THAT! When she started emulating the distant nobility smile of her fiance, I just wanted to hug her so bad! Ugh! <<less

So I'm a sucker for these types of stories. This one is especially good. Our MC is only 9 years old with no transmigration or reincarnation of any sort, so it's understandable for her to be scared.

For someone who is only 9 MC is really smart and her mental fortitude is incredibly amazing. Her decisions are so understandable and grounded that it's hard to believe she's so young. All her psychological trauma can be related to her being unloved by her 'family' and the people around her. So it's also... more>> believable when she goes along with a random book she found in her backyard.

I personally adore this kind of MC who grows as the story progresses and isn't all-powerful and all-knowing due to reincarnation or transmigration. She is flawed, and broken and will heal as time goes on, so it will be interesting to see how she develops. <<less

I absolutely recommend this novel. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I loved the characters and how smart our MC is, yet she's still human. She notices her faults and works on them.

This is a really unique take on "Main character knows the original novel's plot". It was completely unexpected, interesting and at the end everything made sense.

It has many life lessons too, like not everything is black and white.

I really enjoyed it. 10/10 Give it a try!

This type of stories are my weaknesses. I really want to know what will happen when she leaves. Because, usually in this type of stories, the MC rewinds time or have prophetic dreams of their future. I really like this one

it's still starting but the story is very interesting already. The MC is pretty decisive too. I like that about her. I hope she finds her happiness soon!

I'm so glad that somebody picked this up! Thank you so much!

It's a heartbreak story with a lot of misunderstanding but even when it's frustrating you can understand why it's like that. I feel sad most of the time but I feel how she is working so hard.

I recommend this novel, it's well-done and when all the puzzle pieces started to get together it's awesome. I love it

I've read the translations and the spoiler forum.

Too much misunderstandings for me. MC depends too much on the book that she considers "book of prophecy" and it clouds her thinking by making distrustful despite the obvious changes on everyone around her.

Spoiler

and I don't like the ending of between the emperor and MC.

Despite how the made up to for years and his redemptions, MC clings to what she heard the emperor said on the night in her childhood. As an adult, she should have understood the emperor was experiencing grief from losing his wife and had a few bottle of drinks that night.

The emperor had regretted and tried to make up to her for years after that but those words still became her reason to cut off her relationship with the emperor. The grief of losing the MC was too much to the point the tried to unalive himself. Lol I can't- so I'm dropping this. Too much angst and no proper character growth for me.

[collapse]

There are some good parts though. She's quite smart and know how to conduct herself as a princess. If anything I like about this novel is her relationship with her biological family and the ML. It's just imo, the ending is not worth for me to go through all these twists and misunderstandings. I would have consider to put on-hold if the ending was good so 3 stars from me. <<less

I came to read this after finishing 1st season of manhwa and I must say novel is beautifully written.

I sympathize with FL has she longs for love of her father. The emperor is truly shifty at the start but as you finish reading he kinds of becomes good. He also repents and wants FL to love him as he sees her as his daughter.

Her biological father is nice.i love his character. He's kind of wierd first as he lacks human emotions but how he tra storms himself for FL is... more>> worth reading.

Her three brothers are very doting on her and handles the situation according to their own temperament but always put FL first.

ML is nice and totally in love with fl. He's kind of naive big pup.

I hate the ogFL
Spoiler

the diary which FL found is actually the version written by that lady who is the body of ogfl. She'snot the og FL but a transmigrated soul and she hates FL and purely evil

my heart hurts so bad whenever I reread this lol. Philomel is so so lovely that I dont think rooting for her is enough, I need to go out there to punch the emperor then hug philomel and adopt her myself.

Spoiler

she was determined to leave and she actually did it. Her feelings and way of thinking made me sympathise with her sm I think I cried like 4 times in the earlier chapters

It seems that the FL doesn't have any character. Development. She has nothing except for anxiety lol.

I don't find her as a likable main character to be honest.. Til the end I'm fvckin unsatisfied to this main character.

I am more satisfied to those people who wants her life to become miserable. My rating is 5/10

Rating 5 for all the antagonist.

I am more satisfied to them.

This novel is absolutely one of my favorites because not only is it such a fun read, but there are emotional moments, making it heartbreaking which is a type of story that I enjoy. There are some cliches in this but it's well-written and entertaining.

Just like any other father and daughter type story, the father in the beginning mistreats the daughter but later changes to a doting parent as the story progresses. But instead of Philomel staying with her father, she actually runs away once the real daughter appears. She... more>> also does not easily forgive her father about the way she was treated in the past
Spoiler

which eventually leads to her leaving with her biological family near the end of the novel whom she found when she initially ran away from the emperor for a bit. This may seem kind of confusing but you'll understand when you read the story!

[collapse]

Though, this story is unique in a way where Philomel did not reincarnate or is a regressor. She genuinely is a child that finds out about her prophecy through a book she randomly finds.

Spoiler

To add on about her biological family, I think the dynamic between her and all her family members is extremely funny and adorable. Especially her bio father who acts pretty loud and immature which I think is different from all the other fathers who act cold. Her family members also bicker around with each other often which I find funny and really lifts up the mood of the story. Each of them are very caring to Philomel and even secretly infiltrated the emperors place to stay with Philomel when she was still living there. This is honestly one of my favorite families in a novel even if they have some questionable actions. Ex. They secretly killed this guy who talked bad about Philomel which is kind of outrageous? They do tone down it down a bit for Phil but they really are overprotective over her.

[collapse]

Philomel is smart and makes a lot of smart moves against the real daughter which was entertaining to read. She's also brave and selfless when she wanted to
Spoiler

save the real daughter from the person who took over their body.

[collapse]

There's also a bit of romance in this which I found pretty satisfiable despite being a novel focused on family. Nasar gives golden retriever vibes and it's just cute when he interacts with Phil.
Spoiler

He even moves to the mage tower when Phil decides to leave the emperors place and move with her bio family.

Right now, I'm thinking that this story would have deserved a somewhat great rating but as it is, the translation is really lacking. Understandable, yes. But still. I appreciate the TL team's effort though to make it understandable.

The story/plot-8/10

Translation -5/10

The lore is pretty interesting and it's what supports everything that happens for plot development.

The author gave a good twist on the transmigrator genre with this work, there was never a dull moment.

There were times when I laughed, and it helped a lot with lowering the burden of empathy in the bad moments, which at the start are plenty..

... more>> I appreciate quite a bit that the matter of forgiveness is treated carefully and also separated from forgetting the injury existed.

Those are two different things and people has a tendency to think one follows the other, but that's not necessarily the case.

Forgiving or at least understanding why a person acts badly doesn't make the situation disappear, nor it really kill the pain and/or trauma that it may have caused.

It's a way for the injured to be able to let go and start healing. Of course, many apologize but... at least for me, it usually is more about erasing guilt that actually wanting the other person to let go and heal.

I also like that the author is showing that everyone is a shade of grey, that nobody's perfect, nor they have to be.

It's also good at making one think on what it actually means to know someone, and what each of us wants to do with our lives.

Humans usually need conversations and time to get used to people.

That doesn't mean one can't strive to be or do better regardless of the starting point one was dealt with.

The characters are mostly realistic, and the mc's pretty great.

Honestly, the only thing I wasn't amused about her is the convenient moments where she can't seem to see the whole picture when all the clues are there.

To be fair, I can understand that it's not that she got dumb suddenly without reasons. It's fear, what freezes her mind mostly. There's also the fact that there's a deluge of information that she has to process about things she couldn't possibly understand because they don't even exist in her world.

The antagonists, well, they're tr*sh. I don't think selfishness or pride are necessarily bad traits, if used in moderation. The problem is that, usually, it's all but that. The pawn here is beyond redemption precisely because of that.

The romance part is delightful, they're so cute. It had a lot of twists and hard conversations to have.

The translation I read was good, fortunately.

As for the art... it fits their cuteness but not the story. It's nice though. <<less
