It's a short story but there still needs to be something there. This was just empty. There was literally nothing of any particular interest that a short story should have. There was virtually zero insight into the MC's character, even less for the other characters. I would be hard pressed to call the plot plot. It just just was straight a to b to c and of not much interest. There was no process, no complications just very bland.
