This is a good novel. There are some confusing parts at the beginning but it has a good flow. There are just some abrupt events like the ending.

I love how the MC and ML first met. MC at first seems ignorant and s*upid since he was isolated for ten years but he was actually quite smart, principled and easy-going. ML is arrogant and domineering.... more>>

ML was heavily injured when they first met while MC looks like a normal weak person. Later on, ML asked MC to be his driver, cook and bodyguard. They lived together alone. It was funny that everyone thought MC selling his body at that time when it was ML who was dependent on him.

The novel is not as tragic as some doomsday novels. Most of the events happened outside the 'capital' city or the strongest base. <<less

Just barely arrive in chapter 48 but I wanna say this...

I'm not the type to read a novel so carefully that I will notice such as like other comment that complain about the lack of enthusiasm by the author to write in chapter 1... Well I notice that some scenes are a bit weird and seem misplaced but I don't care...

Usually I read a novel with picture imagination in mind, like looking at a movie, , so, what did I see when I saw a movie? Actually not the movie... more>> itself but mostly their subtitles 😂😂😂

So I don't really read the description but more focused on the conversation, , that's also why I choose to read some light hearted novel that can be understood as a whole plot, not a mystery where you need to pay attention to even the description by the author...

I also more sensitive to the interaction of character instead of world building so I tend to avoid long chapters more than 200 chapter because that long ass explanation just to explain how the world works... I will just end up skipping it for the most parts

ML that's Marshal Shao is not a OP Cold ML type but Zhou Sou can definitely vouch his eloqueness are on par with a famous scammer 😂😂

So here Zhou were hired by Shao to be his bodyguard, driver, etc but..i think I need more reading before giving my conclusion so wait for me to complete it 😘💋

MC experiences an earthquake that basically flattens all the gilding's in the town he found. If this is a prevalent thing that happens with the tectonic plates moving, then the landscape being unrecognizable by the MC and no there being no traces of humans in just ten years makes total sense.

I've started reading and I had low expectations because of the other review but I think it's a bit harsh. Chapter 1 didn't seem as nonsensical as the other reviewer made it sound. The MC basically has super tattered strips of clothing - he isn't nude. We find out in chapter 2 that he replaces it with animal hide. We don't know all the details in chapter 1 but it sounds like he has nothing on himself other than the knife and book because he was escaping after the enemy party (in the war) overwhelmed him with numbers (it sounds like he was undercover or at least targeting spies). The cultivation book is a bit convenient I'll admit that. But I'm sure the author wouldn't detail every single other item he had with him (if he even did) because that would just be extra info we don't really need. And he didn't leave the cave to forage and hunt because when he did try, he was attacked fiercely by animals and he was too weak to fight back then. The 10 years thing - the Mac thinks he might have transmigrated haha but even still, it's an apocalypse setting, this type of fast change is totally possible. This is all to say, for anyone curious about this story, it's not really that nonsensical to start. I think it flows just fine for a fictional story. <<less

Makes no sense whatsoever.

First MC is naked, then he's suddenly wearing clothes, he didn't eat anything but fruits that grew in the cave despite having a way out so he could have foraged/hunted, he went into war but has nothing useful on him except for one knife and a book that's conveniently a cultivation manual.

No other weapons, no gear, just a book.

... more>> It has only been 10 years and there already are no traces of human life left, apparently whole cities/villages are just gone.

I don't know what the writer was thinking but this is the messiest, most nonsensical first chapter I've ever read.

This is just a warning, if you can overlook stuff like that then don't let it deter you from reading it, personally I'm not willing to invest time into something the writer didn't give enough of a damn about to remember that their MC was naked like five sentences prior to him suddenly being dressed. <<less

It's a long time since I'd read this story, and this was a second time reading.

This time, I drop a comment just for re-read in the future. Btw, I MTL the rest of story.

I don't know why the rating so low. Maybe this story not their cup of tea. For me, I like it. MC, ML, the villain and storyline.

I'm confused about the complaint about the first chapter from Wintercreepe. It's no Shakespeare, isn't particularly great prose, and suffers from 'all tell no show' that many Webnovel's have, but it's not as confusing as I was led to believe

First of all, in chapter 1, the MC is not naked but 'nearly naked' and then it's further elaborated that his clothes are in tatters.


Secondly, there isn't a sentence that explicitly stated that the backpack only had a knife and a cultivation book initially. Only that the MC's only weapon is a knife at present (it's been 10 years of an apocalypse, I'm not surprised that items could get broken, lost, deteriorate, etc).

Thirdly, it's an apocalypse with dangerous beasts lurking everywhere. Why would the MC leave his cave unless he absolutely had to or was strong enough to do so?

Finally, it's only the first chapter, and the MC has just left his cave after being a massive hermit. It would be weirder if he did know the reason that there was mass population and city loss over the years. While some suspension of belief is required, I don't get why there was a complaint about it before the reason for so many cities and villages falling was explained. It'd make more sense to complain about it being illogical once the author reveals how the apocalypse happened (or if the author never explains), not complain about it being illogical before any deeper backstory has started (again, it's just the first chapter lol)
