I'm taking a risk reading this & betting that the ML isn't her shitty husband emperor with this rating. Only time will tell if I've won a sweet love story or an Abandoned Empress 2.0 heartbreak.

The husband was childhood friends with ogEmpress but their relationship soured after her father's conspiracy to kill his parents and forcibly marry them to become royal in-laws. Since he couldn't take revenge on the powerful Duke, he would vent his negative emotions on ogEmpress by neglecting her, embarrassing her, and generally letting everyone bully or... more>> look down on her, from the nobles to the maids, because she was supposedly the 'face' of her family. Despite knowing in his heart that this is misdirected ab*se, he just brushes his actions off as 'it can't be helped' because she's related to his nemesis.

Ironically, she's not, and has always been severely ab*sed by the Duke for not being his biological daughter, to the point she would rather be imprisoned in the Empress's palace than get sent back by the Emperor

I like the other male lead candidate so far & I suspect he's posing as the 'wish granting spirit' in the journal he gave her so he can secretly know what she wants better. If so, he's probably agonizing over how she revealed she doesn't want him as a lover because of the rumors that he's an avid womanizer. The way the spirit adamantly refutes it & tries to defend him (self?) is hilariously misunderstood by MC as the spirit having an unrequited love for him (self??). Again, pure speculation on my part but it just seems so desperate & funny, I hope it's real & he gets the girl in the end. <<less

Hmm, this novel is "quite" good but not outstanding I have completed reading this story especially the side stories I can't stop myself from smiling because the side stories are so cute 🥰 tho I feel bad for lan but he reap what he sow and the real lethenia was just unlucky (I won't spoil her backstory, it's better for the person who read this review of mine to find it out themselves through reading this novel) I'm really glad the real ML is Theo after knowing his the... more>> real ML through reading this novel my anxiety finally subsided. I fell in love with Theo who's real name is Alexis as a Character and I'm glad he had the happy ending that he truly deserves after all those painful hardships that he had experienced he finally achieved happiness, it might be weird saying this but Theo is a dude I wished I had but never had and if there was such a person that I've had I would cherish it with all my heart.

(Warning Alert: some of the paragraphs below may have little spoilers that anyone should not read and it has risked and rant or vent)

But I could not give this story a five star maybe I'm just crazy the FL is dumb and passive if I would rate this honestly I would rate it 1 star but I decided to rate it 3 because of theo, I had mixed feelings reading this novel it gave me an odd feeling, this novel is frustrating and I find it cruel to the point that I was traumatized I rarely get traumatized but this novel surprisingly gave me trauma just like other kr novels I've read, who would've thought this too will also give me trauma it literally tormented me mentally after many chapters and I think I will go to a therapist after this taena kasi, and there are some holes and undetailed things in this story too and I agree with that one comment of some of the chapters of this novel saying that " it's not going anywhere, the more she read the more she see how s*upid the FL's actions were ". And I felt the same and it's hard to explain it. I feel bad for lanheart he really truly deeply love the real lethenia but he reap what he sow and it's his fault, he should've been honest with the real lethenia/Sianna in the first place but I couldn't blame him either as to what he was doing or how he has been treating the real lethenia in many factors but what he did is still horrible. And it turns out that the real lethenia was actually inside Rosetins' body (I won't spoil how the real lethenia entered Rosetins' body, everyone reading this long review of mine should find it out themselves. Because the reason is pathetically painful.) and thank God lan and theo knew that and then lan crying finding her then ran towards her and called her "sianna" (lethenia's real name) hugged her crying saying his sorry for everything etc and so on I won't spoil what happened next and then after that I'm really glad that Theo despite knowing that the real lethenia is in Rosetins' body he still love FL which is inside lethenia's body. Through reading this story I had this odd feeling or just a delusion that maybe the author was actually conveying a story different from the outcome of this story but changed her/his mind and made the story like this because of lots of cliche novels like the abandoned empress but it's just my assumption tho, an assumption that the author actually wanted lan and lethenia or sianna to end up together and that he/she the author originally want the possessor which is the FL that she is actually the real lethenia that reincarnated in another world and came back to her old world just like in those cliches stories like who made me a princess and I'll end this engagement story but was swayed by the fan comments and that's when the author revise his/her idea and didn't made the chapters longer and decided to end it quickly and made it worse but this are all my assumptions or just delusions because of the title of this novel and also because of the storyline at the beginning and a few chapters but after reading more chapters I finally realized why it's titled like this. When I first read the begining it had the vibe of the abandoned empress novel and based on the title and the summary I quickly assumed that it would be just like the abandoned empress novel but it was different. And I'm glad it was different. But I didn't expect that it would be this different I still have mixed feelings and odd feelings and even thoughts of dropping this novel while still reading it incomplete because I couldn't handle the odd feelings I've been feeling and I even thought that I shouldn't have read this novel because of the fact that the real lethenia was inside Rosetins' body instead of her original body which the FL is currently inside in and also because of the fact that the FL and the real lethenia lived painful lives it's really painful that I want to erase my memory of reading this novel and many other painful scenarios things that I can't spoil anymore. But I finished reading it tho because of Theo/Alexis I want to see if his been given a proper happiness living with the woman he loves which is the FL (Kim Seejin) and I'm glad he was very happy and that they've been given a very precious gift an existence that exist from their love. I'm really Glad that I finished this novel and I will never read this novel again. Thank you to the translator of this novel. And thank you to the author who gave Theo Claflin (Alexis Fabian) the happiness he deserves. <<less

The first thing that came into my mind when reading this is that the male leads in this novel are a bit frustrating. Like a cliche angst novel ML. I read lots of chapter already but I still don't know who the main ML is. Well, that's okay because its annoyingly (?) made me can't stop thinking about the novel since I want to know the answer to this.

And as I keep reading, not just the curiosity about the ML, I found that the plot was more than the cliche... more>> angst novel I expected before. Its... intriguing. Lots of secret we don't know about the characters being revealed one by one... Now I really don't want to stop reading.

It was a great read. Earlier chapter could be a bit frustrating, really. But reaching through the end, one after another I became more and more curious about the story, so I think it deserve a good rating despite the annoyance I felt from the early chapters.

And through the ending, I just realize that I actually love this novel. And special shoutout for the fluffy side story omg! Just had to mention the side story bc I found myself reading with smiles all over my face :)

It gets frustrating mid-way and if I objectively rate it, I'll probably give a 3/5 Max buuuut I'm still in my happy feels about the side stories and that ending. Though it was rushed I was very contented in the end😌

I would recommend reading this if you like slow burn romance and are okay with MC that can be kinda dumb and passive.

At first there was skepticism with my experience with this specific genre but there was also captivating art cover and the curiosity of wanting to know more about the lady with silver hair and lavender eyes. The royalty drama was frustrating and upsetting. The kingdom was in pile of sparkly poop. The distress for our FL Lethenia grew and again worries for the ML came. I felt pity for Ian but what you seed is what you row. Theo was breath of fresh air and he quickly became the partner... more>> I only dreamed of. But you know how it usually goes in these stories and I could only comfort myself with thoughts, if Theo is not chosen I will gladly kidnap him anyday. Anyways the story went and as the mysteries were unraveling you could feel the upcoming storm. Please don't focus on the climax!! The domestic bliss after is totally worth it. I'm glad I satisfied my curiosity. Definetely give it a try if you are in a mood of transmigrating into the royal villainess FL thingy. Also the translation is superb and again, I thank you for the hardwork Sienna (੭ ˊ^ˋ) ੭ ♡. You are the best!! <<less

I quite enjoyed this story; it kept me so engaged that I read it all in one sitting and stayed up till 1 am just to finish it. The translation was good and the story itself hooked me well enough to get me through to the end, I was invested in our MC's struggles to survive and it was a refreshing take on the "transported into the body of a book character" trope. I felt like there needed to be a little more of an epilogue from Ianhardt's POV though,... more>> and the ending itself was kinda rushed, but they provided some side stories to pad it out. I can say that if you judge this story by its summary or initial premise, you will be sorely mistaken because things did not go exactly as you would expect if you've read a lot of these types of stories and have an idea of the stereotypical direction they take. <<less
