It’s been 10 years since I found myself in the game “War of Gods: Infinite Defense.”

From being the illegitimate son of the Red Dragon family, I rose to become a prominent figure, but under my half-brother’s schemes, I eventually met my demise.

[Game Over] [Hidden Ending: The Secret of Ray Hatzfeld]

However, I was given another chance.

[Discovery of the hidden ending has unlocked a new story] [Additional content is being downloaded] [The story of Kane Rehinar, the Grand Duke of the Water Tiger family, begins.]

Not as the illegitimate son of the Red Dragon family, but as the Grand Duke of an enemy nation!

“Hatzfeld, this time I will make sure you die in the most painful way possible.”

The plot is interesting. The MC is intelligent and ruthless, doing whatever it takes to get his revenge but not being too over the top. He makes logical choices that anyone could make, while utilizing every bit of power at his disposal to come out on top.

If there is one point, it's that the story and world building seem a bit slow at the early stages. But that can be solved with time. I'll continue reading to see if there is anything more interesting.

Initial plot seems to be unnecessarily convoluted: a player transported into what he thought as game world but that character died and regressed back in time as another character. I don't know if MC was acting for himself as the player or considered himself as the first character during first run or fully immersed himself as the second character during the current run. Maybe it is their style but the author didn't bother clarifying much while dropping a line or two of explanations here and there. It can be a... more>> good thing but it can also feel like making it up as they go.

Villains were one dimensional and cartoonishly evil. That alone is okay but it is also very hard to buy into MC's actions and power level. All he did was continuous face slapping of higher power opponents without a care for consequences and somehow he kept wining. The system was too Op. It was unbelievable that instead of becoming god-like powerhouse, MC managed to get bad end during the first run of the story mode even with the help of such Op system. The father character was acting like an idiot. The kindest 'head canon' explanation for all is that maybe the father (and every plot progression) was driven by story (God) to be that way?

So if you can forgive those details and like reading face slapping Op MC, this novel can be enjoyable. Who knows? Maybe the author can explain all and bring everything together in later chapters. <<less

this was pretty good, I like that the MC is ruthless towards his enemies but values loyalty and treats his allies well. He is intelligent, not only because he knows the future but he makes strategic decisions and places his subordinates where they would thrive which allows him to get the best outcome. The world-building was pretty good overall, at least in my standards. The ending was quite rushed but I think it was still done well considering the entire novel was only 200 chapters.
