This is purely my opinion, so feel free to disagree. That said, let's dive in.

I'll keep this brief: this novel leans heavily on clichés. While the occasional plot device can help move the story along, this one is overflowing with them. By the time I reached chapter 10 and the heroine made her appearance, any interest I had was completely gone.

Now, to be fair, this is an early review, but I'm struggling to see any real potential here. The story feels like a typical "overpowered protagonist" setup, loaded with abilities... more>> and traits that should make the character a force to be reckoned with. Yet, despite all of this, the protagonist fails to use these powers effectively, leaving the narrative feeling hollow. The protagonist is generic as heck.

It's one of those stories where everything seems to be handed to the main character on a silver platter, but they never fully grasp it. If you're looking for a more nuanced or challenging story, this might not be it. <<less

This had potential until chapter 25 to chapter 30. I really like the idea of the MC starting with OP growth traits and the story is serviceable enough.

However, certain things in the story bugs me. Like the world have a leveling system but the MC skips like 50 levels, he randomly runs into characters important to the story instead of him seeking them out. Why did the author have to write it like this? This is a game setting and the MC is a veteran. Why take away the agency... more>> of the MC by making him stumble into important characters instead of him using his game knowledge and seeking them out. Despite all of that, the premise was good enough until chapter 25 where all of the things I just mentioned culminate in the most bullsh*t plot development I've ever seen.

Spoiler

So he met with this supposed childhood friend and they travelled together. The author didn't even take the time to develope the relationship and endeared us the this childhood friend but immediately on their travel they encountered a mid-boss type character. He's level 70 vs the MC level 50. Randomly, on the road, out of nowhere. No build up, no story, no nothing. The MC suddenly have an enlightenment and kills the boss *cues eye roll*.

However because he once again overdraft his abilities (he did this before btw, when he skips from level 0 to level 50 and almost dying), he's literally on death's door. The childhood friend, who's a mage btw, suddenly used a max level divine magic to give her life to the MC. It just felt so flat, we literally have no connection with this side character, she has no build up and now you already killed her? For what? To set the MC on a quest to revive her? Seriously it's just so random and feels out of left field. It's so contrived.

[collapse]

Anyways, the fact the group picking this novel up from chapter 26 to 33 (at the time of this review) is dog sh*t and has taken to insert their s*upid "This novel is stolen from my garbage mtl group" into every single paragraph is just the cherry on top for this novel. <<less
