FL come from an ordinary family but... genius. It's not as simple as written 'genius' through her description character. You will know what I mean ever since early chapter. But, even if she is genius, she actually want to understand how 'ordinary' people think. She had childish moment, too: with her best friend, her brother, her parents, and many weakness such as scared of dark room, injection, etc. She is very human compare to many OP FL I read before (I like them too, but I love how author potrait how FL is genius but very human at the same time). She is genius but hardworking. She is not naive too, she's very independent and capable to solve her own issue. I really love her character. Genius indeed.

ML is still the same pattern as other Chinese novel has: handsome and rich. But, I love how he knows he will never win against FL when it comes to IQ (lol). He is respected FL, both as her friend and fellow partner. He always support her. He never threaten FL with anything just because he is rich and she is not rich. He knows that FL don't really need his help, but he still always make sure FL knows that he is around if she needs him.

FL and ML meet in elementary school, when they were both 9 years old. At first, ML was soooo denial that he always set FL as his rival (because apparently that is the first time he didn't get first place). They even skip graded 2 years together and entrance the same class in junior high school. From a rival to best friend (at least from ML POV, because FL always think of him as her best friend).

Aside from FL, she think ML as her best friend. He is the tablemate that actually really want to sit and talking with her (because apparently she is a 'weird' talker due to her bright critical thinking so every kids never want to sit with her).

This story features their life from 9 to 24. From a kid who were best friend to an adult who were both success and finally dating. But author made this process smooth. There is no drama except for a girl who liked FL in the middle of story (yeah, she like FL, not ML).

Funfact; FL is the first one to confessed.

It's a little OOT but I need to find a space to comment about this... I'm excited but nervous. I'm a big fan of this novel... we can easily spot Jiang Yubai character in many c-dramas, but Lin Zhixia? Oh, well... she is one of a kind. She is literally independent and genius, I really love how she is not naive or dependent to any man. I love how her relationship and Jiang Yubai is equal and respected each other. Lin Zhixia is an inspiring woman y'all... she's working so hard to achieved many things in her life. I hope everyone did the best to potrait her character because I scared Lin Zhixia will lose her 'sparkle' in the drama version. I will update this after the drama comes out.
