Sensible protagonist and believable characterizations. The writing and translation quality is good. The story is similar to other regression in gaming world such as Rebirth of the Thief who roams the World and Reign of the Hunters. So if you are a fan of such novels, you might enjoy this.

But the difference is that in this novel, the gaming world was a real cultivation world and its power would be transferred to reality in future. This also means you will need to apply suspension of disbelief on some game mechanics... more>> until the author comes up with better explanation in future, such as how "NPCs" didn't realize the peculiarity of the "players" and re-spawn mechanism etc. Moreover, many of the cultivation story elements in the novel are unoriginal and boring so you can skim through or skip without missing much.

On the other hand, the characters acted mature most of the time compared to other novels and not blinded by arrogance or anger for cheap plot points. Their capabilities were also reasonable in a sense, for example, MC was only OP in relevant area and not in everything such as business etc. (But he still was very OP in a gratifying way.)

Trigger warning as of chapter 135:

Spoiler

One of the nightmare dungeons in earlier chapters included description of past kidnapped, gang r*pe memory event which may or may not have actually happened. If you don't like such unnecessary elements in your fantasy novel, you can skip whole dungeon and you won't miss anything.

[collapse]

So far, the story may be heading toward elder sisters harem ending as all the girls MC met were older than him and all seemed to have interest in him. MC himself flirted with NPCs for relationship points.

Overall it is a good time waster and stays true to its genre.

Edit:

In later chapters, the novel dragged on and the quality went down, with many filler chapters of MC fooling around with girls, xianxia tropes, racism, unnecessary dramatization without plot progression etc. Not sure if it is due to MTL, but there even seem to be fourth wall breaking by author to make jokes in a couple of places. It gets boring the longer it goes on. <<less

It might be because of my taste is gotten rotten overtime reading all these harem/power up novels, but I feels like this is a hidden jem among them.I'm not the biggest fan of these self proclaimed “goog guy”MCs, but I appreciate his character remain relatively same trough out the story. Even the harem troupes are still little too much, The fact that I can make a full ranking list of the harem based on how good their cooking proofs some thought goes into writing these characters. Fights gets little repetitive... more>> overtime but I still enjoyed the story. Also the author likes to take time to glaze the readers time to time, I think it might helps author with rankings on these super competitive CN novel sites. Its bit distracting but still on a acceptable range so I don't mind too much. But I had to say, I thought I was quite used to ignore some ra**sm bits these CN/KR writers are dropping time to time like it's the most normal thing in the world, but this series has opened my eyes on how much worse it can get. I'm not included on eny party's involved, but I still feels pretty uncomfortable. If you're planning on reading this please keep this on mind if you're sensible to these kinds of topics! <<less
