Fu Yuhan had been secretly in love with his straight childhood friend for ten years. Not only did he fail to win him over, he also ate a whole basket of vinegar.

“Wen Yu and I have a great relationship.”

“Wen Yu is handsome and has good grades. Many girls at our school like him.”

“Wen…”

…Wen your mom.

They say childhood friends can’t compete with heavenly descents, and this heavenly descent was even a natural bent. Fu Yuhan’s mentality collapsed.

From that day on, he and Wen Yu fought tooth and nail in private—it was either him or me.

Then suddenly one day, Wen Yu transferred schools and became his classmate.

When love rivals meet, their eyes turn red with hatred.

Fu Yuhan had dominated Third High for years and was rubbing his fists together, ready to properly teach Wen Yu a lesson.

Who would have thought Wen Yu would be the first to send an invitation: Single combat after school?

Fu Yuhan nodded coldly: The empty building across from the playground, no backup.

All the students thought the war to decide who would be Third High’s new “number one” would happen today.

However, in the empty building, Wen Yu threw off his school uniform and used a swift, ruthless, and precise leg sweep—

—trapping Fu Yuhan in the corner.

His voice was low and hoarse: “Honestly, since we can’t catch that someone anyway, why don’t we keep it in the family?”

Fu Yuhan looked completely bewildered: “This is your reason for gnawing on laozi last time???”

I came stepping on light

Holding a touch of setting sun

From now and hereafter

Offering up my love as well

I was surprised on why it got 6/6 5 stars vote.

I'm still at ch 24 since the TL is ongoing, but so far, yes, it's worth 5 stars. Not even half of the novel but already experienced many ups and downs, from laughter to bitterness, and a bit of heartache for Xiao Han.

The story is well written, not a single plot hole so far. And, I'm a big fan of enemies to lover trope (UwU), it's not there yet but you can see that ML is gradually developing some not... more>> so obvious interest. Looking forward to the rest of the novel. <<less

Extremely slow burn romance. I liked how it was in the MCs POV for the first half, then the second half the MLs and how neither of them are exactly the OP protagonist's trope even in an ordinary setting. Like yes, the ML is a learning god, typical in campus stories, but it's not blown out of proportion and ML doesn't seem to actually be that great at fighting (I was so glad to learn that he was not an all rounder). The side characters weren't annoying either and everything... more>> was wrapped up well. My favourite parts would definitely be MC and ML's family drama, I found them particularly engaging, then there was Wen Yu's chasing arc. I loved how Wen Yu wasn't perfect for his archetype, but that there was genuine reason behind why he is the way he is. It just gave him so much more depth that other MLs with his archetype simply fail to show or do.

While it did get a bit boring to read at times bc it felt dragged out, I'd say it's a solid 4.5. This felt like a genuine and more realistic portrayal of a campus romance story. <<less
