Watanabe Fuka is the president of the gardening club. She may not stand out in class, but she’s a kind girl with an enchanting smile.

“I like you. I like you, Watanabe-san!”

“Actually, I… I like you too…”

And so, the troubled high school student, Oki Yukito, thought his youth was finally starting to take shape. Just before his first love could be fulfilled, however, her appearance suddenly changes. The person who appears before him is an Elf!?

“Did you, by any chance, see it…?”

Watanabe Fuka is… apparently an elf. A cursed girl from the San-Alfa tribe who fled from the other world, Nache Rivira, to modern-day Tokyo for a certain reason.

Uh, actually, I’ve… always been interested in you, Oki-kun. With a name like ‘big tree’ and Yukito… it kind of reminds me of Yggdrasil!

“Can I start my confession over!? ”

Thus, Oki Yukito finds himself swept into a slightly mysterious life in modern-day Japan with the “Elf Watanabe” and becomes embroiled in a grand spectacle revolving around the fate of the other world.

It's off to a decent start, but knowing this was made by the same author as 'Devil is a Part-Timer', and how badly they ruined that story at the halfway point, and that this was written after that f*cking up of a good novel does not give me hope that this novel will stay decent.

It's really telling that Wagahara started strong but got progressively worse as they continued their writing career. I guess you can give this a read if you really want to, but all those people who are... more>> giving this a 5 by default because of its pedigree seem to be conveniently forgetting that that novel was so bad by the end. That or they somehow liked that trainwreck of an ending. <<less
