The first couple of chapters start off a bit tepid but by the 16th chapter, the excitement reaches Mt. Rushmore level.

The summary is pretty apt - a novel with a decent premise. But the execution is excellent. The plot ebbs and flows very well and the character and world building are very well done. I like how the grandfather and MC interacts with each other. The bantering is very engaging to read.

It's just starting but I am already hooked. I am excited to see where it goes. The translation is... more>> high quality (I tried the genz novel version), and I like how I can resize or change the font to my preference. Will definitely recommend 9.5/10

P.S. I tried a bit of SSS Grade TLs version, and it is pretty subpar compared to genz novel version. They are pretty much pumping out barely edited MTL to catch up. <<less

Loving it so far! 5/5 because it's exactly my cup of tea and I'm impatient for more. A little synopsis from me, so you get a better idea of what the story/tone is like.

MC transmigrates into the world of a management-simulation game he was obsessed with as the player character he created. The management game has a Hunter/Gate setting, and it's all about managing a guild and its Hunters in order to make your guild Be The Very Best. To challenge himself, when he made his latest character he allocated... more>> all his stat points into one category. This basically gave him a terrible reputation, no useful skills, and no starting resources... but he has charisma and infinite money. Transmigrating, MC discovers that in practice this makes him an ineffectual, piece of shit, 3rd generation chaebol that everyone hates but can do whatever he wants.

Now what? He could just live out his life being a leech on his family and never worry about money again... but of course he's going to do what he loves and does best, which is playing a guild management-sim game and knowing way too much about it. Thanks to the MC's confidence, charisma, and not being afraid of using his established bad reputation for personal gain, he starts reviving a fallen guild and relishing in the shock/confusion/frustration of everyone around him as the guild rises.

MC also does the rare audacious thing were he straight up tells people he transmigrated into a game. He also does other stuff like: explain that he knows things about people he shouldn't because he saw cutscenes that showed their stories; offhandedly refer to people as "characters", as in "that's the kind of character they are", when talking about them; draw up character stat sheets and strategy guides of the guild's hunters to give his strategist so they can plan battles; and so on (Lloyd from The Greatest Estate Developer would be proud).

Emphasis is on the MC and the few direct subordinates he recruits. As of ch. 25, the newbie hunters that have been recruited in to the guild don't get much focus or characterization, only a few have actually been named, and only one seems like he'll become a character of any significance. This could change as time goes on, but as of now the story mostly revolves around the MC and his schemes plans for guild development rather than his relationships with others. Also, again, this is a "management" novel, so the MC isn't being set up for fighting or getting super OP himself. <<less

This type of story really isn't to my taste, at least so far. I was expecting something like a "hunter-raising" approach

Something like "The S-Ranks I Raised, " but focusing more on the aspect of actually building up that character's skill trees for example

A little bit like "I Raise with In-App Purchases" or "Evil God Behind the Smartphone" (not hunter/dungeon world) as a couples examples

... more>> Instead of that, what I got was less about action or skill tree development, but more about the politics

In this world, humanity has pretty much dominated the dungeon outbreak and turned it into kind of Olympics sports

But the novel reads not as if you're watching the Olympic athletes' individual stories or feats of skill...

You're instead reading the back dealings of the management aspect

That could change in the future chapters, but the main purpose of the first couple chapters is to set the tone and themes of what you'll be encountering in the novel

And so far, I personally haven't found this entertaining <<less
