I like stories where the MC is loved and cherished by his people (but not romantically, not into harem).Though I still ship MC with other characters sometimes (〃'▽'〃). 

Some are more of a slice-of-life, with little actions, but more focusing on the deep bonds of the main characters.  I only put series that I've actually read, with my little comments on it, I'm definitely up to recommendations for similar trope.

Mc stay at his hometown (base). Didn't care about spreading his influence to everywhere he steps. While there's a higher (another) realm / dimension. But he still stay at his base. Sometimes go to the higher realm for the resources. 

Mc in here is not "i must be stronger than anyone, and i must let everyone know that im the strongerst in multiverse so nobody will dare to offend me so i can live in peace" --said mc who's weak and always provoking trouble everywhere he goes.
