This novel had been adapted into a movie version and took the first premiere in Jakarta, Indonesia, on May 28, 2019. The movie stars talented young Indonesian actors and actresses such as Iqbaal Dhiafakhri Ramadhan (Dilan), Vanesha Prescilla (Milea), Yoriko Angeline (Wati), and Brandon Salim (Beni).
This novel uses a combination of Sundanese and Indonesian, where Sundanese is one of the regional languages in Indonesia. Where Indonesia has 17,508 islands, over 1,300 ethnic groups, and 716 regional languages.
So, this novel basically is an Indonesian novel with the original language being Bahasa Indonesia. One of my friends, @nadyaaliftya, asked me to translate this novel, “Dilan,” into English.
So...HAPPY READING!
