Those stories have amazing s*xual tension btwn the characters, and most of them have amazing character development, and after officially getting together it gets all sticky-honey and slice of life kinda thing. That one BL trope where a straight guy can't help but have a bi awakening due to the charm of another sinfully handsome guy... (cue gay panic and awkward shenanigans). I had to create this list to feed my strange addiction (caused by Alessandra Hazard's 'Straight Guys' series)... Includes all types of BL, mainly danmei. Not including mpreg, ger fantasy worlds or omegaverse, just plain old ordinary BL (majority in modern era). Not ranked, but alphabetized instead because the list is getting long quite quickly...

From a notoriously picky reader~~ 

These are my <cream of the crop> novels, often subject to rereads and day dreams. Also, while I’m open to books depicting most walks of life, I typically don’t attempt harems, m-preg, ABO, and crematorium tropes. And I’ve found that laboriously long (200+ ch) novels, QT (and generally most other transmigration) novels, and IF novels aren’t really my thing. 

Most novels are modern, with, occasionally, supernatural occurrences. I’m a fan of non linear plots and first person POVs (which opens a wonderfully speculative door to unreliable narrators), so I’d assume there’s a good mix of plot-oriented and character-oriented.  <<less
