TLDR: The translation is good, the writing is very good, the plot is excellent, and the characters are well defined. 5 stars cant wait for more.

I have no idea where this one will go but I would really like to know. Is the husband the ML? Is he just a ridiculous Tsundere? Is she really going to kill him? If she does will she go nuts trying to cover it up? Does she really hate him or is she also ridiculous Tsundere?

There's just so much and I really want to... more>> know <<less

Uhm... I MTL-ed this novel because I'm so impatient. It's still understandable for me. The translator has done a good job tho. I still feel confused about the MTL and I think I will read the translations from the beginning when it's finished. I want to say that I like this novel so much. It tells us that it's important to be honest with the one you love. Sure, communication is important too. But if what you tell each other is the opposite of what you feel, only to save... more>> your s*upid dignity then it's useless. You will hurt your other half and make them SO fed up with you.

It also tells us that it's never too late to fix everything. I like the last bit of the novel (around chapt 27+). Both characters get so emotional and tell each other how they really feel. That time you will see things from the ML's perspective. At least, both made up (I think will still be a bickering couple but at least they understand each other better).

It may feel like it's a very light read because it has only 29 chapters, but it's not. You will feel very angry and feel emotional about the ML's speech and actions. I myself was so upset about this when I read it. But I suggest you continue reading until the last chapters to see how the ML thought about the MC. In the end, I think nobody is right here.

Last word, a nice and short novel worth of reading (at least for me). <<less

So far so interesting and the tranlsation flows really well.

I can already see the ML has been following the FL since they were children and the FL has been too blind to see it. It reminds me of Qiao Yi's book "I Don’t Like The World, I Only Like You" which was adapted into a drama "Le Coup de Foudre"

see, there is a difference between bickering and downright fighting. These two were always fighting. This kind of fight isn't normal for anyone one who's in love. It was really hard to see any kind of romantic chemistry between the ML and FL. It was a toxic relationship. The FL has a nasty way of dealing with problems-always kind of making the issue big. I don't how to phrase it but it felt like she's just very competitive with everything little thing. Although I do vibe with her "not taking life seriously" attitude ; I just wish she just relaxed with her competitiveness abit. The ML—I don't want a friend like that. He belittled FL way too much. I hated the whole Ex-gf angel. He would spread rumors about her so other boys won't confess to her but he would go around with the campus beauty. He tried to make her feel insecure when she wanted to live her life her way. And then when she called him out, he tried to gaslight her by saying that's not what he meant. He says she only love herself and I loved her reply "should I f*** waiting for you to love me?!?!"—yes you go girl! He has a problem of her self-confidence. He wanted to fit her into a mold that he likes. Both are fault at being awful at communicating but He's sole reason why she's always picking fights with him. Hes an ahole. I was relieved when they divorced because watching them together—an effing train wreck. Some people should just remain friends. I know this has a happy ending but my girl deserved better than the gaslighting motherf****

Thank you potato from Second Life Translations. The site has done a good job translating the novel. Even the MTL translation is understandable.

For the plot : I love this kind of story where the MC is the one narrating the whole story. It is so adorable that although ML has a sharp tongue he makes that action is louder than words. All his penny goes to the wife and all works in the house are done by him. Poor husband!!! All throughout reading this I am so entertained. I know... more>> that the ML has loved the MC since their childhood, it is just the MC has this competitive spirit and a fierce personality. She will never back down hence she needs a man that's fierce as well. I love how the MC does her shopping in TaoBao. How the ML has showered the MC with luxurious gifts and how he tried everything just to stay in her house. Hahaha, I really love this novel.

I also love here is that it aint that long. The story is straightforward. The developments of the chapters and characters are better than other novel I have read.

I hope SLT will translate it till the last chapter. I think it is already translated but the trans chapters must be bought from them. So I'll be patient and wait till they release the remaining chapters till the end for free. <<less

This story honestly was a bit frustrating to read until I wondered whether it's best for FL and ML to part ways and be done with it or kept staying together to torment each other forever. It wasn't that their relationship was beyond help but they're just way too stubborn and hotheaded to communicate with each other calmly and rationally.

In my opinion, ML played the biggest part in those whole of misunderstandings between him and FL. He expected FL to realize by herself how he felt all those years towards her but how could she dare considering how he treated her in the beginning of their marriage.

He casually proposed to her by throwing her the ring and nonchalantly told her not to care about his matter although they're married. Of course FL would misunderstand. She actually knew ML treated her well during their marriage despite of his foul mouth but because of his warning, she didn't dare to think much about it.

FL wasn't that perfect either. She was too stubborn to voice out her dissatisfaction to ML and chose to act nonchalant in front of him. It's actually quite surprising that she was able to supress it for 3 years considering her temper.

Fortunately, they're finally able to voice out their real feelings to each other so yeah, it's happy ending everyone. <<less

Seriously ML is the typical smart handsome black bellied ML who loves to bully the not so smart childhood friend FL. They love each other in their own ways.

Many times feel like killing ML... Like how FL feels. See him dead. Really look forward to see how their relationship going to end... Together or divorce! Enjoy every bickering and fights.

The male lead is either putting the female lead down or manipulating her in to thinking she's in the wrong when she brings up the nasty sh*t he says or does to lower her self esteem. There is nothing charming about these characters or their story and I don't know why people are acting like they are "mutually annoying" when it's just the male lead doing everything wrong (he claims he loved her yet belittled her just because he was scared she would find someone better and leave him). Female... more>> lead rightfully gets angry when he starts putting her down so how is she mutually annoying when she's just fighting back?! The story ended with her having to apologise for never recognising his "feelings" (as well as cuddling him and taking care of him) and then they end up together even though he's just a loser who thinks his insecure hateful behaviour towards the female lead is "love". I gave this novel 2 stars for the good translation and amusing female lead. <<less

I really wanted to give a try to this novel but sadly I cant. The translator warned to at least read till like chp 5 and I did. But it didnt work on me.

Overall the translator did a good job conveying the story. But I dont think this one quite my cup of tea.

It just too many hatred and flashback towards ML. Thats alright, but FL also is kinda hypocrite here. Why would anyone just get married with their friend they dont like but spend his money too. I guess... more>> this one would probably real or based on what writer went through.

Both of them are childish but not gonna change anytime soon. Ugh make me frustated really.

But it's well translated. Must read it if you're into this kind of story. <<less

I really enjoyed this story a lot so even if it had a few points that I wish were done better for the most part I enjoyed it a lot and hence the rating.

So should you be reading this, despite the 5 star rating I wouldn't advise all novel updates users to check this out so let's filter it out, if you can't stand actual ugly arguments between the characters, if you like your characters to always behave reasonably, if you like the gentle male lead or like to insert... more>> yourself into a very perfect female lead rising against all odds, this one is not for you.

So is it for the rest of you, personally I enjoy characters that have a streak of irrational in them at times, the emotions feel more raw and the characters seem to resemble the humans I am familiar with, so that's my first warning these characters these characters are not the regular likeable people, when you start you will probably go this male lead awful then you will go female lead so dense and then you will reach to different conclusions too. I am not saying these characters are more real than the CEO ones they have their own unreal or realistically could be an awful relationship element but I enjoy their rawness more than the average CEO novel.

Anyway if I have to mention a gripe it is that author creates all these knots and then unties those a bit anti-climatically where I would have like some more accountability expressed on both sides.

Also the author mentions it is a brainless novel at the start and it is in the sense of exaggeration of these outbursts etc. Anyway if you think you are not bothered by any of the things I mentioned or have some tolerance for it then check it out. I also personally would fall in the later category. <<less

The translation was good. I only read up to c5, but based on what I read and the other reviewers, it seemed that the MC is portrayed to hating the ML and wishing to kill him, but in reality is just seeking more attention and wishing for a more romantic relationship. The ML on the other hand is portrayed as a small jerk who doesn't seem to care much about her, but in reality, seems to care about her.

The FL readetdly states she will kill him but hasn't gone through... more>> with it yet. I think in C3 the MC said she put poison in the soup to the ML before he ate it, but he still lived. So maybe it was a figure of speech poison, or perhaps he didn't eat it. I just assumed he did as he complained about the soup. Possibly skipped over on accident?

Although I think it was written somewhat well, I did not enjoy the story as there was a lack of elements such as plot and story hook compared to other stories. Granted this is a short story, but I still felt like it could've been a bit better.

The story was somewhat written in like a diary format where the MC decides to poison and kill the ML and then proceeds to tell many different reasons to do so which led up to this point.

The writing style felt somewhat old school. I think older female readers might enjoy this story, but not for younger readers. <<less

I dont want to talk about the plot, but one thing that stood out me most, is the mc's character, it was so good, I mean she is not the best, she knows her shortcomings, but her charcater was so good, never seen an MC like this, imagine someone always making fun of you for every little thing and always telling you how you are not good enough. Your parents thinking you are just a brat, this all will make you slowly slowly have low self esteem and low confidence... more>> in yourself, but she dosent take this to heart, she is still going and being the way she wants, she feels hot in summer so she shaves her head, she is not afraid of being different, she just wants be like herself, I really like those qualities about her, one of the things that she says that stuck with me, "i like myself, I like my character, I like my thoughts, I like the way I behave." and when ML is telling her that she only loves herself in this world what does MC reply? "Of course I f*king love myself, or should I wait for you to f*king love me." I really like the MC and ml's interactions they are so funny together. All in all a good read if you are bored, to be honest they be creating drama for no good reason, just be honest with each other. Since you are going to get married, they should have cleared the stuff then and there, instead of taking the misunderstanding for so long, thats shows how immature they are, both of them have some growing up to do.

I read this really far then decided I couldn't go on, the male lead was genuinely too much... like reading the way he spoke to her had MY feelings hurting, especially when he called her fat for being 102 pounds??? She's a tall adult, 102 pounds is NOT fat? That left a really bad taste in my mouth, statements like that is how people develop EDs and body dysmorphia

the way he speaks to her is unnecessarily malicious and I personally do not believe anyone should have to put up... more>> with that behaviour, in my opinion he's verbally abusive towards her, and if you could manage to speak that way to someone you supposedly 'love' then you're a horrible person.

The ONLY thing the FL had a problem with was communicating, she tended to go quiet when she got upset (just like me) instead of trying to talk it out, and honestly id find this to be a bigger issue if not for the fact that the male lead is a total d*ck head and talking to a guy like him is a waste of good saliva. I genuinely wished he'd drop dead from carbon monoxide poisoning and she'd inherit all his insurance money and live a leisurely life.

other than that I really liked the female lead, I found her pretty reasonable. It's a shame she ends up with such a s*um bag, she could definitely have done better than a narcissistic self obsessed as*hole that sabotaged her relationships with others for funsies.

I read up to the chapter she finally got a divorce from him and closed it happily, I'll just pretend that's where the story ends.

the main leads here are a bickering couple with some trust issues and misunderstandings

.. In other words, for all the sweet fluff novels out there, this one is a representative for the nasties when you're in a relationship (+equally sharp-tongued MCs), so buckle up and get ready to see the less-explored dead leaves that hide beneath the pretty roses!]

I absolutely cannot regret reading this, even as a book-lover who typically can't stand SOL-centric stories.

Translation quality: Great! With footnotes briefly explaining unfamiliar Chinese phrases and terms.

Plot: What it says on the tin: Wife thinks of a 100 (-ish) reasons that she should kill her husband, who is also her childhood friend whom she married due to a promise of getting together if both were unmarried by 27. In this story, we see some days of the couple's daily life and their relationship narrated through the wife's eyes.

IMO: I was surprised there was a plot (which starts some time past the recommended 5th chapter, seriously if you can't stand the way the characters are by then I don't think this is the novel for you), but I won't lie that its climax may be overwhelming to most, as you will find that both the main participants in the story aren't always– if ever, honest with eachother and even more so themselves.

I can't praise the author enough with how well the main characters were written– UNREALIBLE NARRATOR done incredibly well, esp coupled thanks to the awesome translation. The FL is a spunky tomboy who hides a strong insecurity behind her sharp words when bickering with the ML, and the ML too is a piece of work that has too much love while trying to hide his heart from the FL. I won't lie: these two BOTH absolutely contribute to the toxicity in their relationship. No-one's innocent, and it doesn't even matter who started it. However, it's beautiful to see how these two dance around each other while trying to keep their hearts from their sleeves and downplaying exactly how much they really love eachother. The other side characters that barely had much appearances in the story too felt larger than life, not as if they're just there for the plot.

Where the charm of the story is for me: It's a big ass definition of UNREALIBLE NARRATOR. It's a lot of show, not tell which was written incredibly well and with borderline satirical yet comedic moments sprinkled in. One note: do not turn off your brain for this one, else you're going to miss the minute details dropped in that not everything is as it seems (ofc, it's not overly head-scratching either, just right). It felt like I was even watching a play where the characters never miss a beat and kept me enthralled as if they were real beings and not fictional.

The climax had me on the edge of my seat wondering how would the author resolve the issue– and they did it fantastically.

After a shouting match following their official divorce and with the tention of a tightrope, they are both finally able to speak to each other, and the FL even learns a different, healthier method in interacting with her husband.

Once again, these are difficult characters to read about, I can't deny it, so it's understandable that many may not find this to be their cup of tea. Me personally though, I feel honoured to have been able to read this tbh. May just come back and reread someday. I look forward to whatever else may come from this writer and translator. <<less

Refer to lilyrose and avelyn's reviews. The ML is a little b*tch, but I rather liked the MC. I think this could've worked as a wife chasing crematorium towards the end, but I was surprised and disappointed by how quickly the FL forgave the ml. His personality is annoying, how he criticised every part of the female lead and acted like nothing happened the next minute, like he didn't just trample on her self esteem. I don't like it because it is full of angst, annoyance, and inexplicable pettiness from both sides. I am also annoyed at how badly they, especially FL, treat that short small celebrity even though all he wanted was an answer. I think neither of them are good people, that's why I don't like it. But of course that is my personal taste, because I want nice main leads.

I also don't like a story that's 90% filled by anger and bicker, and how thick she was for not recognising his little... more>> goodness while blowing up his annoying sides, she was also too hypocritical to not see her own attitude didn't help either.

But the flow of the story is good, the incidents in their life's are natural, the dialogues are very good. All in all, this is a good story if it fits your taste. The translation is also very good. I rarely finish a story I dislike just on the strength of good flow and good translation. Hence 4/5, good even if I don't like any of the leads or whatever they bicker about. M <<less
