IMO, it's not their homos*xual relationship that is being regarded as disgusting. It's his action. The fact that he's married and do the deed while his kid is around then shut him out the door after the poor kid find out. That's what makes it disgusting.

The act of betrayal to both his spouse and kid, that's disgusting. It's understandable if he suddenly realized he can love Du Sheng. But it's unbearable when he just stood by as a bystander while watching his spouse running around trying to get her sh*t together and ignored the little kid as he bask in the halo of love between Du Sheng and him. He could've opt for a better option.
