Brote's family is truly awful. His father is despicable, his stepmother is a climber, and his younger brother is a cowardly hypocrite.

I feel a little sorry, if Brote (FL) had been a more proactive character, many things would have been different, she had the information from the book and instead of acting to change her future, she decided to give up before fighting.

Derien Winter, the Duke of the North and Brote's new husband, is quite mysterious, and I personally don't think he made his previous wives disappear (at least, not directly), but it's still very suspicious, but there is a mystery surrounding the whole situation.

Brote's ex-fiancé, Eric, is a reckless bastard, and I hope he's miserable.

I like Brote's friend, Edith, she is direct, bold and cares about Brote. We should all have an Edith. It seems that Edith discovered Ariel's deception, we will see how that situation develops. I hope she rips off that Ariel's mask in front of everyone.

Ariel is really a despicable and shameless witch, she deliberately lied and stole Brote's fiancé. That Eric, he's really gullible, well, whatever happens next is all his fault, and he deserves the blow he'll get when they pull the rug out from under his feet. <<less
