“A second chance at youth brings growing happiness! And the cheating couple? …They meet their well-deserved end!”

Yaguchi Michitaka, 36 years old. A middle-aged man.

He was running a small company, but one day, his beloved wife, Miyabi, suddenly went missing. Then, a video letter was sent to him.

When he played it, the message revealed shocking betrayals: his wife confessed to having been cheating on him since the start of their marriage, and that all his assets and even his company were now going to her lover.

Even so, Michitaka didn’t give up. Standing before the grave of his late childhood friend and benefactor, he vowed to start over. However, the stress overwhelmed him, and he suffered a heart attack, dying on the spot.

When he next opened his eyes, he found himself back in the spring of his 17th year as a second-year high school student!?

There, he reunited with his kind stepmother, whom he had been too embarrassed to ever call “Mom” before her sudden death, as well as his childhood friend and junior, who had tragically passed away from illness at a young age.

Determined to bring happiness to everyone, Michitaka begins taking action, using the skills he honed during his years as a working adult.

Meanwhile, Michitaka…

5 out of 5.

Not a perfect novel, but if you were drawn in by the titled and synopsis, you will get what you want with this novel.

It's very concise and well translated. I came in for an easy-to-read novel and it does that perfectly.

The guy lives well, the guy uses his second chance fully, and the bad guys get a well deserved ending.

I really loved how this story was written. It bounced between perspectives of present life and past life moments in great effect. Usually the past story would've been chucked into the epilogue or mentioned half-ass in a chapter. I think this way made me more invested into both storylines way more than what other novels have done.

Wow, just wow. This is a really refreshing second chance novel where the MC uses his past life experiences to make his and the people he cares about lives better. It's not so often you see a reincarnator acts like his age and be this mature.

One detraction is that his ex and the guy she cheated with appears in the story multiple times and it's a bit exaggerated for zamaa, which can make the story seem a bit basic and cheap but I'm not someone who'd sympathize with a cheater... more>> so they can keep suffering for all I care. Especially when the main story is about how MC tries to hold on to people he always loved but things didn't go the way he wanted to in his last life.

The way he strengthens his emotional bonds with his CF, sister and his step mother is so warm and tender, by chapter 35 it's enough to want to make a grown man cry because of how wholesome it is.

Another mention goes out to Yuki Kitsuneko, who's quickly becoming one of my favorite TL's because of the translation and novel selection quality. Thank you for your hard work. <<less
