I found this through the 'Random Novel'. I liked the description. The part where Wen Xia (MC) muses in his monologue "Who are you?" as the Liu FengQi (ML) 's hidden personality is found out. And I was surprised when I saw there wasn't a review cause usually novels with rating 4 or more definitely have reviews. But still, I went ahead and tried the novel. And I'm glad I did. (Also, the description is to the point. It's all included in the story.)

The novel depicts... more>> the story of two individuals who were unlucky during their high school period, had communication problems, misunderstandings and had a lovelorn period, yet by a rare step of courage from an individual and bravery of the high school diary, which shall be awarded a first-class merit, these two individuals who were about to turn into parallel lines intersected again. They married.

The novels spans 78 chapters, out of which, first 24 chapters depict the feeling of sadness, lovelornness, irritation towards your first love and hopelessness of an unsuccessful chase of 3 years. Then it's the debut of the diary. The story turns a bit sweeter then. The next nearly 25 chapters is MC trying to get the ML out of his shell and confess. Then it's very very sweet all the way.

Wen Xia (MC) 's thinking pattern is just like most of the people is. He was upset that his first love didn't succeed. He tries to forget but then comes his first love. It's really kind of upsetting seeing that person dangling in front of you after you've been worn out. (I sympathized with Wen Xia. Don't know about others.) Unfortunately, he too has trouble expressing himself when it comes to chasing his crush. Now, at the start of novel, he's often upset cause he remembers his failures during chasing his first love and the words that hurt his heart.

He used to be a rich second young master. Unfortunately, his father's company fell into a little trouble and his rank in society dropped down quite a lot. Though they are still rich enough to live well, just like how most of the ordinary people in this world live.

Liu FengQi (ML) is a very introverted. (He reminds me of myself during junior high but I was still more expressive.) He's unable to express his feelings in right words. He has trouble speaking out. Moreover, as his face is expressionless, it doesn't give a hint about his feelings. It led to him never being able to express his feelings or communicate to his crush the right way. At the start of novel, he's still the same though trying to put more effort now. He even used his mother's suggestion as an excuse.

His family was ordinary. Working father and housewife mother. Unfortunately, his school life was unlucky. He was treated with cold shoulders. Then, came his new high school, where the atmosphere changed. He lived with more ease though still often ignored but he gained a crush. But then, they separated ways. And soon he also made his name famous in the business world.

One more thing, he often overthinks and self-drowns himself in non-existent vinegar when it comes to Wen Xia.

Basically, after 1/3 novel, it's fluff with little nostalgic sadness.

It's funny how late they both try to woo each other in silly ways. They literally often embody the qualities of their own pets. Wen Xia following his cat often being a bully to Liu FengQi who often acts aggrieved and pitiful like his dog.

I liked the scenes involving

  • Wen Dage, the cat, and Ah Mo, the dog.
  • The part where ML hugs and sleeps (literally) with the MC the second time and the reaction of ML after MC wakes up and goes out the room.
  • When MC cooks for ML the first time.
  • When they go to the horror holographic game and how they act out being afraid.
  • Most of the ML's reactions. Quite cute.
There's no bad family, no white moonlight and such, no love rival, no bad friend and no villains.

Secondary couple are ok. Not much is there about them. But they will have a novel dedicated to themselves (according to author's note in last chapter).

As one can't understand what the other is saying unless they say it, it's really important to speak and communicate.

This one frustrated me to no end with all the miscommunication and misunderstandings piling up. But after all was cleared up, everything was sweet. Still, it wasn’t enough for me to balance out the frustrations.

i enjoyed this novel very much, the ML is extremely introverted when it comes to the MC, he’s liked him since high school but felt that he wasn’t good enough for him so he never told him how he felt and the MC has liked the ML all this time as well but the ML never knew he liked him so all this misunderstanding led them to have missed each other for many years. Because the ML doesn’t know how to express himself the MC had no idea the ML... more>> actually liked him. Luckily for the diary otherwise who knows how long it would take the ML to open up. Very sweet. <<less
