**[Status: Remaining lifespan 29 days 17 hours 32 minutes]**

After reincarnating into a modern fantasy novel he had read in his previous life and enduring all sorts of hardships, Ryu Seo-ha awakens as a precious S-class healer. However, he also sees in his status window that he has less than a month left to live. Then, after an unexpected encounter with Choi Gang-hu, the protagonist of the original novel, Seo-ha discovers that physical contact with Gang-hu increases his magical power. And Gang-hu begins to show a peculiar interest in Seo-ha.

“Do you intend to repay me?”

“Yes.”

“With your body.”

[Preview]

As Ryu Seo-ha was leaving the bathroom to contact the Awakened Management Bureau, he stumbled back in surprise. Choi Gang-hu was leaning against the entrance wall.

“Why are you here…”

As he hastily stepped back and stumbled, Gang-hu grabbed his arm to steady him.

[Magic Power 9]

At that moment, Seo-ha’s magic power stat began to skyrocket.

[Magic Power 17] [Magic Power 25] [Magic Power 33]

The numbers increased dramatically with each blink of an eye. It was an impossible situation. Seo-ha’s eyes widened in shock. Gang-hu also seemed to sense the anomaly, raising his handsome eyebrows high.

For some unknown reason, a chill ran down his spine. Reflexively, he shook off the hand holding his arm, and the feeling of every cell being filled to the brim suddenly stopped. Feeling dizzy, Seo-ha shakily leaned against the wall for support.

[Magic Power 41]

In that short time, his magic power stat had surpassed 40. This was a level that could only be barely achieved by investing all stat points gained up to level 40 into magic power. It was an astounding situation.

Gang-hu, looking down at him with eyes as dark as an abyss, didn’t seem to have intentionally infused him with magic power. There was no reason for him to do so, and it was impossible for the stat itself to increase like this. Even if it were just an increase in magic power capacity, it would be enough to make him a research subject.

“I thought I was imagining things,” Gang-hu muttered in a low voice as he slowly reached out his hand again. His long fingers lightly touched Seo-ha’s pale cheek. As he shrank his neck at the cool sensation, Gang-hu’s large hand cupped his entire cheek.

Loving it right now.

MC + ML characters are great. MC isn’t “holy mother” type but genuinely kind yet logically in his reasonings. I’ve got a soft spot for cool-headed MCs. :3

ML is a fun, mischievous yet “big boss” type. I like the direction of their love *crush* progression now. His purpose is still kinda of a mystery for now... even though bit of his past has been told.

still... I really enjoyed it so far :) can’t wait for full English translation. Will recommend? YUP :3

At first it was really interesting, but like many romance stories the plot turns into a side note one the couple gets more involved.

I did appreciate how casual and friendly they were with each other, and then suddenly their entire personalities disappear (not that ML had one in the first place. Typical cold, irrational rich guy) and MC stops caring about anything else until it's convenient for the plot.

MC ends up getting treated like a toy and not an equal; a relationship where one person doesn't get a... more>> say is nothing if not abusive. And might I add, it's surprising the ML is so rich when all his actions have been foolish and self destructive.

Disappointing to read when it started out pretty good. <<less

Purely based off of that cover, I suspected this story would be about a weak, naive, innocent, ~~feminine~~ MC and an "alpha male" (aka a**hole) ML. I suspected this novel would be bad. As of my current chapter when writing this review: chapter 43, I can happily say this is average with potential to be better!

Wow, was I wrong about the MC. Our MC, Seo-ha, is an S-ranked healer who's survived in a survival-of-the-fittest closed-off area for 5 (?) years. He utilized his knowledge of the environment, monsters, and people's... more>> nature to his and his (normal) sister's advantage--all while pretending to be normal himself.

Now, about the ML: he first comes off as the typical overbearing and arrogant ML with yandere tendencies. He's also very similar to MXTX's s*um Villain's Luo Binghe in that he's supposed to have a female-only harem in the original timeline.

Like the MC, ML was forced to survive in a very difficult-to-survive area for a very long time. Unlike the MC, ML has "carpe diem" as his life's motto. Whereas our MC is constantly striving to find ways to preserve himself and his dwindling life timer. Death timer?

Their romance, believe it or not, is not as frustrating and drama-filled as I originally thought it'd be. The ML actually takes a step back and tries to understand the MC and go at his pace.

If anything, I thought their romance was too sweet and fast paced. I still enjoyed it, however!

Well, I'm only on chapter 43. I'm excited to read the rest and see how it ends! <<less

I lost most of my interest in this story by around 100 chapters in but since there were only 146 in total I decided to finish reading just to see how it ends. I thought the premise sounded interesting but I feel it became pretty generic as it went on, I wasn't super invested in the plot and the relationship dynamics lost their appeal to me after MC decided to accept all of the ML's desires to control/isolate him in the name of protection.

I'd say it's worth a read if... more>> this type of relationship dynamic is something you really enjoy but wouldn't recommend it for the plot or anything else. <<less

4 stars. This story is a solid 60/40 romance to plot ratio. The romance is heavy but the plot is what actually pushes the story forward and keeps it interesting. I’m a "reads novels like fast food" type of reader and I didn’t think about dropping this even once and finished in about 3 days. There’s fight scenes, love, magic, and conspiracies. I don’t even think there are misunderstandings in this one 🫢 If that sounds good give it a read.

I will say that the story here is deeper and... more>> much better than the DFN readers realize. Now for the mild spoilers and the reasons why I can’t give that 5th star

Spoiler

As this a love forward story there are a few moments in the plot where the thing they need is acquired by just getting lucky. It’s not all the time as the MC has a good brain and the ML is OP. It’s also not something that rushes the story but more helps keep the plot moving forward but it’s something to note.

Overbearing/Obsessive Love Struck OP CEO Hunter X Street Smart (Mildly) Calculating Transmigrated Healer
