I wasn’t reborn with talent or ability, but at least my knowledge from earth allowed me to stay one step ahead in this other world.

Magic exists here, and new progress was rapidly being made in science while magic stagnated in the name of tradition. Using my earthly knowledge and not bound by the traditional thinking, I was able to do things other wizards couldn’t even imagine.

Still, inadvertently becoming an undercover professor for a mysterious secret society at the renowned Theon academy was never in my to-do list!

I loved this. But, I just found out it's a harem. So no.

The MC is intelligent and has many plans whilst also being able to act spectacularly in order to fool the organisation that he unknowingly entered after that situation. It has many cliffhangers and usually leaves the MC as a mystery, even to the readers. With him having special powers, 'true magic' and something that follows him around to scare all the other spirits away. He also hears voices! So, it was amazing, I'd recommend it to others.

Honestly I really enjoyed this novel. I really like that it didn't focus toomuch on romance. Atleast all forms of romance towards the ML is one sided.
Spoiler

It's really just Selina and flora that are really crushing on him. As for Rene I just feel there's a huge secret and she kinda feels that rudger is someone special from her past. (So I don't feel any love interest from her towards mc)

Yes in the novel is always looks like all the females are in love with him but it's really not that way. Most of them are either curious about what new idea he would show them and other things. And the MC has little to no interest in any female that likes him. And he's in no way intentionally attracting them.

[collapse]

One thing that was quite confusing was that the novel always made Rudger so OP but at the same time it tried to subtly make him less op by adding a few handicaps here and there but they didn't really do a good job at it.
Spoiler

like rudger has so many hidden identities that are OP yet the novel tries to make him appear less op by adding things like he has an issue where his body is constantly consuming mana.

And he's just a 3rd level magician that can learn almost all elements but he cannot go further.

And he has something called real magic so it makes it look like he's only strong when he uses real magic. Because In multiple chapters in the novel it hinted that it's his real magic that really saved him and made people think he was super powerful.

[collapse]

I didn't really like how patchy the flashbacks were and how many new secrets kept popping up. It's like random history would pop up here and there and you as the reader has to try and remember them for future references. Its like there are so many secrets so it's hard to see the bigger picture of things.

It's a good novel

It's interesting and I really like the idea. But I feel like a lot of things are overlooked. Like, I would love to know more about the MCs past, all of the characters in U.N. Owen's past, and even just the logistics behind some of the magic. I also feel like it's moving much faster than originally in the later chapters. The whole thief of the artifact just feels not thought out at all.

Novel recommended to take a look at.

MC is an overpowered handsome guy with endless overpowered aliases. It’s entirely ridiculous how much he’s done and the author continues to add to all the nonsense background he has.

Within the first 100 chapters MC is revealed to be: A secret crime lord, an unstoppable mercenary, contractor of the ultimate magic beast, head of his own secret organization, friends of elves/dwarves/beastmen, a master-class teacher, recognizer of hidden unique Magics, an effortless master of disguise, a deadly battle mage, a prominent wizard, master of all... more>> combat, a cryptid hunter, savior of the imperial princess, and rescuer of teachers and students alike.

What makes the novel stand out compared to most other of these sort of nonsense novels is the Mc’s regular level-headedness and the amusing contrast. The novel’s basic set-up is quite similar to “The villain wants to live” with MC as a magic teacher + a terrorist attack in a train + commoner student with magic talent + noble girls challenged by Mc’s nobleness, handsomeness, and knowledge. MC usually easily clears every situation, also managing to understand every context or political situation he’s in. While attempting to simply survive, he’s doing multiple good deeds as well as crushing conspiracies of evil organizations.

Author also adds that MC is consuming mana pills, that MC is a crosser from Earth, and that the eyes of the mysterious “Gods or high level spirits” are always watching MC.

Overall, a cut above your typical brainless OP MC protagonist due to author adding more context for each situation MC is in and streamlined enough that the reader will not be usually bored. A competent novel that knows what it’s doing so far +3/10

P.S. The only weird part with these kind of novels is that the magic academy teachers are a bunch of useless or pompous idiots, and of course that all sorts of evil organizations can easily get into it. You’d really normally expect more especially since all of these magic academies are prestigious. Seems quite strange there’s no method to screen people or even the equivalent of a magic lie detector. <<less

Well I'm editing my review right now...

I like this novel because the MC is OP and I started reading it with the same reason.

But there are also parts I don't like and kinda find annoying. Like WHY EVERY FEMALE CHARACTER FALL IN LOVE W MC. I don't like harem type of novels and find it annoying but even his students are like that.. WHYYY.

Okay it might be just me but I feel like there are more female character than male. Even in his classroom we just know 2... more>> male's name (if I'm not wrong) and 6 female. I myself am female but I don't like it. Maybe because the author made some of his students fall in love with MC.

I wanna know more about MC's organization or just want them to do something intersting.

Anyway I don't have a problem with MC being OP and actually it is pretty enjoyable to watch him just being teacher. If you ignore some parts it is actually good but if you don't like these kind of things and can't stand it just good luck. I will continue to read... <<less

So far there are only two chapters translated, but it's looking good right now. Between the title, the synopsis, and these two chapters we're able to see the direction this story is heading in as well as potential small bits of foreshadowing already, and if you were to as me right now, I think this is looking like it's going to be a great series.

Hopefully by the time I've read it all I'll still be saying the same thing!

At first, I was hooked due to the interesting premise: a meticulous, calculated, cold MC that has no interest in romance or a brain which is full of making a harem or women. Adding the teaching + secret organizations + various identites, I thought the story will turn into a thrilling adventure but... I got disappointed.

The writing style is starting to turn repetitive. I feel awkward every time the narrative describe other characters feelings like ... more>>
Spoiler

the sudden crush from the female characters towards MC, jealousy and arrogant in a dumb way from other minor extra nobles, or even a sub love story (classic and cliché shoujo) from Lynne/Rene's POV

[collapse]

Why did she have so many screen time in the novel, heck even sometimes I thought she was like a 2nd MC or a stunt actress for MC LOL

Yeah since all the romance so far have ruined my favorite action novels with male mcs, I thought this novel could satisfy my demand and turns out this is one of the stories where it has a hidden harem...:) (Most of the characters surrounding the MC are female and many of them have taken a (romantic) interest or high interest in him (and I'm afraid it will turn into romance in the future)

Well if you like the hidden harem and took an interest in how MC can survive in a tricky situation like that, you can enjoy this novel.

I will drop it for now, might come back later... eventually... <<less

I like the novel a lot but I have one problem

Spoiler

The POV of female students, especially the commoner girl Rene (could be something different depending on the translation). Rene feels like the protagonist in romance novels where the commoner girl enrolls in a prestigious academy and with amazing coincidences, meets beautiful, high-ranking, and quirky boys. There's nothing wrong with that but I don't like this in general. I wrote this after reading chapter 87 so I might change my mind in the future.

I have soo many mixed feelings when it comes to this work. Firstly I hate harems (Still not sure how I started this one) and every single one of MCs love interests, but I also love Un-Owen and the MCs relationships with the people from his past and younger years. I'm also am kinda sad this isn't a safe space to say I HATE Casey with a burning passion, she probably annoys me the most out of all the useless romance options (I dont hate Flora, just the fact shes... more>> an option).

I really enjoyed this story and the characters overall tho, Rudger is such a layered and complex character. There are quite a few interesting characters that we quite unfortunately didn't get to see more of due to revisiting already fleshed out and/or bland characters * COUGH * CASEY * COUGH *! Another downfall plotwise was most definitely the randomly inserted cliques, it made things awfully predictable at times.

Honestly while things slowed down about half way through I thoroughly enjoyed the plot from the world tree arc onwards. Definitely saved the story for me.

Spoiler

The dream arc was fascinating and learning sm about Gods was really cool considering that was smth we knew nothing about despite plot significance. Teen Rudger with Jennette was lovely and it was really cool seeing a new side of him, snarky Rudger keeps me going. I was really excited going into the final arc

[collapse]

All that being said I do feel the final arc was extremely rushed, too rushed in my opinion. I'm honestly not upset about it just kinda sad as the story seemed to find its footing the the last couple of arcs previous (Minus the Casey jumpscare) and I'm sad that the quality (In my opinion) dropped at the climax. Especially considering it had soo many good idea's and moments, this novel has always had its pacing issues but I'm sad the showed themselves in their full form at the climax.

The later half on the novel reminded me of what I liked about the novel when I first started reading it ages ago and were soo enjoyable that with the help of nostalgia bias I give this story 4 stars. As many critiques I have of this story I do sincerely like it. <<less

Is a really good series. Some may complain that the protagonist is dense, oblivious to all women that are falling for him, but I think that is part of the comedy and of the trope. Obviously isn't realistic but who read this kind of novels knows that must suspend disbelieve.

There is also an honest attempt to give to the secondary characters a personality.

My only doubt is that, since is clear from MC admission and from the frequent references to popular culture, that the MC reincarnated from our universe, why avoid... more>> any reference to how this happened? There is certainly some twist in the plot which the author will reveal later, but it's a bit unnatural. <<less

Reading MTLs and honestly I just love the story. It's great there's a lot of heart and personality for every character involved. I would give this book a good score years from now even if it devolved into sh*t past the MTLS because the start was so promising and good. Frankly the only thing I find a little weird which shows up in all the stories like this (Like another 10/10 the Villian wants to live) is the sorta romantic tension some of the students have for the MC it's... more>> mostly wholesome for this but the possible subtext is there. <<less

Read this if you want a good another world story with both steampunk and magic traits, or if you want a protagonist with a good amount of agency that moves the plot rather than being moved by it.

I have to say that I was genuinely surprised by how good this novel is considering the cliched premise and clickbait title, but for once I do not regret going in.

The story is both "Reincarnated in another world" and "Overpowered protagonist" but somehow manages to do both right and more: The protagonist has... more>> great power, and although the limits of it seem arbitrary at best, the story neither makes the protagonist a punching bag nor a steamroller - his power is mostly in knowing how and when to use any of his resources - be it strengh, wit, knoweldge, magic or reputatuion.

As for the characters: The protagonist seems to be a well-traveled person (and for once, an adult) with some important backstory (foreshadowing...) that somehow is relatable (such pretending to be cool and calm while panicking inside) and has his own motivation and preferences.

The side characters are mostly less fleshed out but some of them do make is seem as if there is a whole world that exists away from the protagonist and serve to promote the worlbuilding.

The plot: a lot of it seems to have cliched settings with a twist - sometimes appears as if the author randomly inserts plot twists into the story - but they somehow seem to click together in a surreal but consistent story.

All in all, a good story with a relatable character and interesting plot - what is there not to like? <<less

A mildly interesting story premise bogged down in: slice of dialogue, far too much backstory (like the back story could be multiple completed novels on its own), too many side characters and POVs, POVs that repeat events that already happened from another perspective, too many love interests for the protagonist to look cool, so much (and too frequent) forced plot and conflict, intermittent low eq protagonist in an environment where he MUST be high eq to survive, drama drama and more drama, the backstory (again) makes this read like you... more>> started a story in the middle of its series, and THE ENTIRE PREMISE IS AVOIDABLE.

This guy was forced to be a teacher or die because his real identity is a terrorist. Shortly after it comes out that he has countless identities with many on the side of good and having allies. Most importantly though? HE CAN JUST LEAVE AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE INITAL CONFLICT. Like, act like a real person with infinite options instead of pretending to be a prisoner who will die with a single misstep. It would be fine if he wanted to stay, but him acting like a forced idiot who can’t think out of the box is awful. <<less

This one is pretty good, I tell you. It have the right amount for action, mystery, fantasy, adventure and drama.

The MC character's is such a mystery that you'd love to unravel more. Gotta be honest tho, it's too early to judge the overall quality of the story but if this continue at this pace, I think I will be immerse with this novel more.

To give you an idea for the character and plot. He is: ... more>>

While it's hard to judge from only 10 chapters, I have noted some things that were already apparent.

For one, we are given a great start, but afterward, when you expect to read how he will keep up the new identity and mix with noble mages, a sentence - two weeks passed... Burst the bubble.

The same happened when the first lesson started - you expect to see how he will deal with students, how students will deal with him, how he will deal with the role of the teacher.... and... more>> nothing happens. He introduces himself, says, he will be the new teacher, answers one question from a random student, asks if there are any more questions (there are none), and leaves... Again, the bubble of expectations burst. It didn't seem like the whole thing took more than ten minutes or even less.

This makes me wonder how many more times great chances will fall flatly. <<less

one of the good novels I've read so far (because I only hunt for the mtl when the story is good that it makes me crave for more)

Spoiler

Things I liked about it:

    • he's not paired with anyone in the end, so it's definitely NO ROMANCE
    • the scenes, ESPECIALLY THE BATTLE ONES, are vividly described to the point I can see them in my mind
    • MC IS FOCUSED WITH HIS GOAL UNTIL THE END
    • nearly, if not all, the side characters were by the author at the end
    • the magic theorem in the novel is quite solid, unlike some other novels where magic is just pew pew fueled by imagination
    • MC's main goal is fulfilled,
      Spoiler

like, the talk between MC and his mom in the end is so short yet it made me feel there's definitely closure there

EDIT:

Some extra tidbits for those who need a reason to look for this novel:

Spoiler

- MC got a VERY VERY long hair on one chapter, though he cut it back to waist-length I think? (This is important for people like me who simps for long-haired fictional dudes)

- Hans is so freaking OP towards the end, like at first I thought he's just an extra, but no. He's a freaking side character!

- Saint Arkenis.

- MC got arrested at one point

- Zero order's goal being quite wholesome for me

I really loved it, the MC and the plot are really really good😍

I like almost everything about it, the cold MC, who has a really warm heart.

I loved how all other characters had depith in them, like they were actual humen. this made the story much more better cause you could unterstand their emotions and actions based on their background, etc.

... more>> Almost every single important character had development which made the novel really enjoible.

I liked also how the Author fokused on the point that the World and the human are not just white and Black, they could be also gray, and all of this has its reasoning. like why some characters kill and save lifes at the same times. They might be evil but could also have good things in them.

A thing that I personally like in novels is that every single thing which got mentioned would at some point be useful, even if it doesn't seem that much useful or important at the beginning.

There were very few to none plothols, like I personally didn't have any Problem reading it.

the story and everything is really good, but I gave it 4 stars cause of things that I personally don't like but some people might actually love these things like:

Spoiler

the "harem" : I'm not sure if the author tried to make it harem and then just gave up, but at some point ALMOST every single woman (students, teachers, and many others) had some kind of interest in him and one of them also was clearly in love and tried to start a relationship with him. this was around the chapters 200 to 300, but then some of them had at some point 0 interest in him, while others were still a little bit interested but not as "romantically" as before and one of them (Renée) saw him as her brother at the end. this was around the end like between chapters 500 to 600 or smth. like this. and even the feelings of the person who was in love with him didn't got mentioned anymore.... which maybe makes sense cause the last chapters were extremely full of events and fights so there were no time anymore for this.

[collapse]

and:

Spoiler

as I medntioned before: the end chapters like starting by chapter 500 were extremely full of events like if one arc was completed the next arc will start the next chapter... for me it just was too much like I need a moment to breathe 😅 and this keept going until the end without a single "useless" chapter🥲

[collapse]

and one thing more:

Spoiler

his power (which comes from the "Gods") was really not that useful at the end... I mean he had it always closed and used it just twice: when he saved the grandpa from "Bigkids" and killed the people who hurted him and the second time was when he saved his teacher (IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! around chapter 600) but after that he couldn't really use it in the "Endbattle", which was sad cause I really wanted more people to see his power and to be shocked by it. and this goes also to the fact that he is the desciple of "Grandé"... it was like we couldn't see her really fight... she helped him sometimes but this was also very little so I was disappointed... Again I wanted more people to know about their relationship and be shocked.

[collapse]

I didn't mentiond very important details in the spoilers... but still I mentioned some (especially in the third one)... so actually everyone could read them (maybe not the third one😅) and still be able to enjoy the story...

the things I found "bad" are just things that doesn't match my personal taste so they are really not that big but I just wanted to mention them once.

The end of the novel was in my opinion really good and I really loved it ❤️🥰. I'm really waiting for the side stories cause they will be defenitly really good.

At the end I really recommend this novel !!!✨️✨️☺️

P.C.: sry for my bad english🫠 <<less

There's a lot of levity mixed in with the heavy, dark setting. Protag seems OP but at the same time, limited by both circumstance and physical limitations. It feels fresh : different from other novels I've read here so far. Author seems to have been very much inspired by Harry Potter and Mahouka, and it's an interesting mix of ideas. There's a tad too much praising of the protag, but a lot of it is in a rather humorous light, so it's a bit more digestible than usual. Holy sh*t this is amazing.

it's not revolutionary, but it is amazing.

it's a story about a MC who's basically done everything a generic transmigrated MC hero would do (get fame, rich etc) but he f*cked up whenever he was leaving from his last journey. So now he has to make bullsh*t up to survive.

... more>> Someone asks you whether you're the Vice President of a secret organization? Vaguely answer and question them.

How the hell do I teach? Hmm I guess I'll just use one of my MC powers and see if that works.
