I really love this novel. The ML is quite cold and a bit of a bully in the first part of the novel, but later on, he became quite sweet and very shameless lol. I also really love the FL, she's really amazing and funny. All the moments between the couple are very sweet

Funny and quick paced. The story does not lose logic nor does it lose it's speed. You will have fun at all times. The female lead is shamelessly chessy and cute and the male lead despite being cold is never disrespectful.

Read, read, read!!! (If you like romance-comedy of course)

I really enjoyed this novel because the characters are extremely funny and have a fleshed out personality. While the ML falls into the category of handsome, cold, powerful CEO that we see so often in novels, he’s very enigmatic and not 2-D. Like I don’t know how to explain it but he’s different LOL. He’s probably one of my favorite ML. The FL is one of a kind, I like how she’s portrayed as a hardworking, smart woman.

the ML discovers her true intentions in approaching him and they fight/begin to ignore each other, although she is depressed, she still does her work diligently. I know it’s a small unimportant detail but it annoys me when authors portray women as dumb, mess up their work or slack off when they face love problems/ fight with their boyfriend.

Additionally, the interactions between the FL and ML are hilarious especially when they message each other.

The plot is great though it does seem a bit unrealistic how everything unfolded and came to be.

Overall it’s a wonderful, smile-inducing read that you won’t regret!! 5/5 plus the translation is top notch!!! <<less

Nice, a little bit repetitive thus a little bit boring.

But, the main characters, ML and FL are very mature, witty, and persistent. So, a steady relationship.

story is alright, to start off the premise of the story itself is quite weak. I had been lured out by the absolutely scrumptious artstyle of the manhua, and then practically forced myself to read stuff where the ML does his absolute best to ignore the MC's weak attempts to get at him. It works, of course, after pursuing him for months.

In all honesty, the LN is okay at best. I enjoyed it as I binge read it all the way. The translation are decent, I'm grateful to be able to read this as I was kinda dying to know what happened next since the manhua is still in the early stages of the story lol. <<less

Ahhh the ending really gave me a lot of sugar so while I'm writing this review, I'm still having a little sugar rush. Anyway, it was a good story. Just like the others, I have quite a mixed feelings due to how it started.

The FL, hmm, can't say anything bad about her because I kinda like her personality, but I can't say much good things about her because of what she did at first. However, I really like her determination and how she can easily bounce back. Her dedication to... more>> her work was vividly displayed by the author. What I mean is, the author, even if she/he didn't outrightly mentioned that the FL is hardworking, wrote well that the FL is indeed someone who likes and do well in her job. But really, I'm quite lenient with her since she's the FL and so, I have some bias. But if the ML did what she did, and the story is still written using her POV, I'll hold that grudge towards the ML until the end and I won't forgive him for that, no matter how sweet he became.

The ML, on the other hand, sometimes I feel like he's indeed quite cold, but at the same time I can feel his subtle possessiveness, especially at the first half of the story. Whenever I think that he's quite cold, I'll just remember how he was able to forgive the FL and I'm already appeased to say that he really likes the FL, though he's not showy.

As for the plot, well, it's s*upidly funny. I indeed felt the second hand embarrassment and when the drama entered, I had a mixed feelings whether I want the ML to avoid the FL more so that she'll learn her lessons or due to reading it via the FL's POV, wanted the ML to forgive her already because it's quite heartbreaking (but I know she deserved the heartbreak though).

Anyway, after all the drama, it was indeed sweet, fluffy, and most of all, I want to commend the author's ability to set the ambiguous atmosphere. I can feel it even outside the screen. Like, from the moment they met up to now, the ambiguous atmosphere never disappeared. I attribute that mainly to the ML's enigmatic character. It's because he's giving that presence of a predator silently luring his prey in his trap while looking very patient while hunting. Anyway, that's how I felt about him.

Over all, it's a good read. The translation is also quite good, aside from some mistranslated pronouns, there's not much problem. I'm having a conflict between 8/10 or 9/10. The ending was really sweet that's why the dog food I ate from there is still here so I'm still quite affected and wants to drop a 9, however, I have to consider everything, including how it started so I'm thinking of 8 (since the FL's initial objective is really not good). So, to settle it, then it's 8.5/10 for me. <<less

I'd like to note that the translator did an amazing job but I simply couldn't read past the point where the MC and ML got together. In the beginning, the MC's behavior was excusable/realistic because she was just trying to use the ML to get revenge on her ex. I felt sorry for the ML, but I thought to myself... surely after she falls for him it will get better. And she did feel remorseful and tried to act like a decent human being... for a while. But... more>> by ch50 she started taking advantage of him again and I got too upset to keep reading. Receiving everything without giving back the same amount of effort isn't love. Using people to make yourself feel good isn't love. I don't read romance novels to see male leads treated like tools, moneybags, chaufeurs, and heroes-on-demand. It takes absolutely all the enjoyment out of an otherwise good novel with decent pacing & a smart, confident, independent female lead. <<less

So far not great. The ex isn't worth mentioning, but I came here to mention that I don't think too highly of the FL so far. She's really not too likeable. Her behavior is actua quite like the hated 2nd FL. Not saying shes hateful, just she does things the hateful character would. That is all, lol

actually im not a fan of a story when the heroine getting close with someone due to revenge plan because I just feel that from the very beginning the relationship is not sincere, eventho at the end they might like each other for real

anyway, if you are looking for fluff and comedy, this novel is for you! FL's interaction with ML is really hilarious <<less

The novel though starts with the usual Fl's bf cheating on her and her trying to take reveng on it. It is still a nice story with FL trying to latch up to the cheater's Uncle.

Overall it is a nice pick. As other said a steady novel without much twist and turns. The ML and FL have a good chemistry through out the novel.

If u like rom-com a good choice.

Cute story, but it's more FL-centric. Agree with other commenters in that this FL didn't seem to be that mentally mature, but thinking that she's still 25 makes it believable. Pretty nice read.

Am beyond grateful to the translators!! <3

I have to agree with a lot of the less than 5-star reviews. @Hellios post is also my opinion. It's mostly like because I'm so over the era of almost child-like high-school shoujo romance that this story was so hard to read. I had such high hopes for this one. I love stories where revenge turns to love HOWEVER as long as the two characters are mature and talk it out. I started reading it cause of the webcomic that came out. It... more>> starts decently well. However, once her pursuit starts it becomes such a mess. Comedy shows up now and then. I feel like the FL's main friends are way more mature than her and have a brain.

ML/FL communication, the scenes in the car, the cringe and awkwardness at times were so brutal. It's also such a slow burn. I had high hopes both characters were mature but the FL became so idiosyncratic and the ML... ya he's hard to read until you get more internal thoughts from him towards the end. I was like "Why does he like her???" As much as the emotions are sort of realistic, the story just goes downhill. I wouldn't recommend it. I kept reading though in hopes that it would get better....I wasted 4 days with this hope. I finished the story & want to say it stabilizes around the latter part of the 40's and gets better late 50's. Read it if you like frustration, angst, a little comedy, annnd yeah.

I hope the webcomic does this story justice.... if it follows the novel I might just drop it altogether. <<less

I enjoyed it. While MC and ML are entangled in their games, both the author and translator successfully delivered the tension and heat between these two.

Not every novel can conveyed these moods, so I was impressed and swayed while reading it.

The MC is supposedly smart, but honestly her actions and attitudes didn't resonate.

True in the beginning of the novel, it was her perseverance that justified she was worthy of her shining career. But afterwards everything was based on beauty: how she got her other interviews, network and even conferences.


Not saying it's bad, but I do wished that at least she made a smarter choice for her career by the end of the book, to convinced that she is indeed brainy. Any high intellectuals would have moved to a better publisher or even write a book.

What she did basically only apply when you're god damn hot. Otherwise, the ML wouldn't even blink.

While other reviewers commented that MC's motive is not enough for a revenge. I disagree. On the other hand, it is more ML's motivation to become interested in MC is lacking for me.

What a funny rom-com!! It gets so embarrassing that the readers would literally feel the face palm moments. I like it that the FL is so capable at her work, but totally lose it when she is with the ML. And how the ML’s bottom line kept getting re-drawn. A passionate story. What a treat!!

it is such a funny story! The FL is pretty smart but a real clutz which produces funny sometimes hilarious situations. I quite liked it. The male lead is more a cat and the female lead is like the mouse lol. About the revenge thing, even if she approached him under some pretext you quickly learn that her intention is fruitless. After tragedy, to sooth my wounded heart I always go for fluff then.

It's not a total comedy. But some situation arises where you can laugh rolling on the floor. The comedic undertone and the conversation between ML and FL is also hilarious.

Our FL (Zheng Shuyi) is a strong independent modern woman. If I have to envision my future self then I would expect myself to be someone like her. She doesn't take sh*t but she also knows to bend and stretch in necessary situations. She DID some impulsive decisions, but... more>> she got what she sowed.

Our ML (Shi Yan) is a bit of a tsundere and possessive. But he's not an overbearing CEO. He didn't open the backdoor for FL when he could, so that FL can shine the brightest. I'll give him for that. He is also helpless towards FL. Whatever he did throughout the novel made sense.

It seems a bit too realistic for me (I don't know...I mean...I just finished my school... so...) I don't know how EXACTLY things work in adult life. But overall it seemed reasonable to me, at least. The pressure of work life and balancing your private life with it while you don't have the time to sort out your delicate emotions and other things in your life.

P.S:

Honestly, I don't go for those stories where the FLs make comedic impulsive decisions and then suffers from it or the ML just watches all of it like a play. It gives me the impression that they don't have the necessary self-respect that one should have.

But I assure you that it's different.

In the middle, I was a bit frustrated with it because ML just seemed too cold for me. But I am sure that it's just me.

The thing in this novel I adore the most (and I'm sure you would too >_<) is the interaction between ML and FL. They are a cute little couple with banters. They are in a tug of war all the time and maybe it's just silly, but in my eyes it's total fluff!

It's just a story where the FL chases the wrong person for wrong reasons (and of course get retribution, karma's a b*tch) and suffers from the cold shoulder of ML a bit, but they get back together for the right reasons and spread dogfood like it's nobody's business. #_#

There's no begging or dramatic scenes. So I don't think it's a total drama either. There's no clique scenes. I hate clique!

By the way, when they were getting back together, the ML said helplessly *pampering * to FL, " You're the catastrophe of my life." I felt something like, it's so freaking sweet! >_< <<less
