“Grandpa, why is your light magic brighter than others?”

This innocent question, that he had pondered in his childhood, was the beginning of everything.

This is a (planned) story about a boy born as the third son of a poor nobleman, fascinated by the wonders of magic and using it in slightly different ways to become a hero.

Interesting premise but poorly executed, we start off with the MC showing off his unique usage of magic, basically setting a limitation of usage to increase the effect, ie. Only causing illusion through sounds or only sensing through touch. He seems very strong compared to the other characters currently introduced and that's where the problems start.

We're immediately introduced to like 5 other characters in 2 chapters, we're also supposed to immediately connect with these characters because they have a past relationship with MC and seems to be important. After that... more>> there's a bunch of confusing plot points that you're supposed to remember like MC's standing with guild, his reputation, etc. The problem is that all of these plot points are casually mentioned in one sentence then never mentioned again, never explained. It's like the story started at chapter 50 instead of 1, a big issue is that the MC feels like a silent protagonist (emphasis on feels like because he does speak) it's just that he has no personality and no personable traits. The "strange magic" that's supposed to be the main aspect of the MC is only mentioned once during the 1st battle and then a second time when he's scouting in the 8 chapters, and it's barely explained you're just supposed to take it at face value, that it's somehow a thing that only MC can do.

It's just really hard to read and really boring, doesn't really have a hook <<less
