This is seriously so underrated.

I enjoyed reading this a lot!!

ML gives a big Golden Retriever energy.

ML not being perfect and flawless as a character is what I love the most. He has his own weaknesses, and what makes it even better is that he's self-aware about them.

Personally, I lika ML a lot.

This ML is honestly better than most. He's a marshal, so you'd expect the typical cold, emotionless type — but he's not like that at all. He jokes around, has a bit of an immature side, and actually feels like a real person. But when it comes to his job, he's serious and responsible.

One scene that really stood out was when the MC was drugged — the ML could've taken advantage, (almost) but he didn't. Even though he clearly wants MC, he respects him too much to ever cross that line. That moment just hit different.

He's definitely possessive, hates when others get close to MC. But he is not crazy enough to lock MC up.

He really puts MC first above all else

I love how MC is written as a character too

The contrast in their personality somehow work so well togther. Their personalities balance out in the best way.

I want to know more on Song jing and Yuna

The mother is infuriating.

Overall

10/10. Highly recommend. Give this a chance.

Another coercive, "borderline" sexually abusive, immature and petty ML.

Also, groping, sexually touching, and f*cking (or as ML says it, "almost") someone you know was intoxicated and was definitely not there by their own will, is, of course, s*xual ab*se. Color me stoked!

... more>> Even worse when MC is not even sexually mature yet (and therefore not prepared for being marked, which ML tried or wanted to try), therefore ML could have literally destroyed his body and any chances of a successful differentiation either ways, A or O. Well done, ML! /heavy sarcasm.

Of course we can't forget to mention ML's explicit manipulation and coercion because he's a "victim" in... wait for it... sexually assaulting MC while MC is under the influence of what basically constitutes as date r*pe drugs. How fun! Definitely not victim blaming at all!

And let's not mention the forceful imprisonment, of course...

All in the span of 12 chapters!

Not considering the fact I got creeped out by the ML this early on, story seems to have potential. ML, as creepy as he is, might have been showing signs of a future redemption, if done correctly. Interesting supporting characters, and the MC is very cute, hardworking and gold-hearted so far, albeit a tad naive. Story seems to begin shaping up nicely from there, but I don't have the neurons to spend on such a disgusting ML as he's proven to be so far, so I will leave this review as a warning, and not leave any star review so as not to skew ratings, in respect of the translator who is doing an awesome job. <<less

It's alright. Not the best, but it's great for a light read when you have free time.

Some dubcon aside, at first it seems that the ml's this all-powerful petty guy getting revenge on MC, but MC didn't even remember who he was. Lol. He turned out to be more immature and clueless about his feelings than malicious.

The mc's character felt breezy, fresh. Nothing to complain about. He has his own life outside of his family and ML and he works for his aspirations. He's forgiving and loving which, err, usually not my thing, but it works out because he's not completely spineless. I like that even he had moments of frustrations with his mother, although he had chosen to forgive her in the end. (Sidenote: It's nice that they gave a reason for his mother's crazy antics. Not a fan of her, but I sympathize with what happened and a part of me likes to think that she knew ML wouldn't treat MC badly anyway.)

My only complaint is I demand an apology from ml's father, that other father, and the media companies for their malicious speculation and mistreatment of MC. But maybe I'm just too petty heh.

I don't understand why MC and ML can still be together after all of the things happened. I regretted reading this novel. I feel I am a villain bcs I can't control my emotions when reading this novel and really really want them to have bad ending.

For the reader who will triggered with misunderstanding bcs no proper communication, dubcon, borderline coercion from ML and hate when there is no real retribution plots, I suggest don't read this novel.

So either I finished this or there were still extras I couldn’t find. We will see after the translation is completed :)

I like it quite a lot, ML is REALLY bad with words and understanding his own emotions hahaha, but he’s really not THAT bad of a guy. Even though he can be h**ny sometimes haha he never forced MC to do it (you know, till the end).

I just want to say, this story doesnt deserve this many bad ratings! Its really good!!! It’s just nice to see MCs... more>> and MLs relationship develop as the plot unfolds~

For all those who care, there ARE side CPs, but as author wrote, their romance is not central and barely touched upon. Idk, for me it was bearable at the end haha

Regarding MCs mother

nah I don’t like her. It is MCs and his family decision to forgive her, and quite fits their character I guess, but as a third party, I would have liked to see MC from now on completely disregarding her and giving her no chance to return to her mother role (such as caring for big northern partner and smiling as if knowing who he likes or that when they were young they sometimes saw ML outside of their house guessing he was interested in one of them). Yes I agree to another reviewer, it would be a little bit more calming, if the mother really decided to push MC to do that, believing that ML would protect him and all. BUT nevertheless, it was still wrong of her. Okay, she may have mental problems now, but yeah... still wrong.

It was kind of revealed that MCs father did treasons because he really had no power against the one who blackmailed him, and would only end up destroying his wives reputation, and so went to prison and told her to not tell anyone. But with how crazy she became to protect her husband, did she really have to push her child into the limelight like that??? Like yeah, I also don’t want to force her to publicize her traumatizing expectations along with ruining her reputation probs, but was really her only second option to use her children as a bargaining chip??? Anyways, I’d not forgive, but I guess I can understand, since MCs character is more forgiving. My precious baby needs to loved more by alllllll

All in all great read! You will realize MLs is just an immature silly child who says bad words but doesn’t mean it the way he says it. He has feelings, but just doesn’t understand them.

I really enjoyed reading this. ML is bad with his words/feelings but his love was genuine and it was heartbreaking to see his failed attempts at getting closer to MC. I was really rooting for him and I’m glad he was able to grow up and do his best to learn better ways of interacting with MC. It was so funny but sweet to see him unafraid to show everyone he was a wife-con. On the other hand, between the MC and ML, the only decent parent they had was... more>> the one sitting in jail as a criminal. They had their redemption moments but I would’ve still preferred them to be cut off. The rest of the plot aside from romance was pretty straightforward. I MTLed the rest of the chapters but I look forward to rereading this again once the translator updates. <<less

Older, yet naive shou who happens to be a late bloomer vs a younger, socially immature yet physically powerful gong.

The reviews re the ‘overbearing’, ‘possessive’, ‘dominating’ and uncommunicative gong are not entirely wrong, yet they are not wholly correct either. The ML is a young man barely out of teens, so happens he skipped grades, never was in a class long enough to understand social cues, was thrust into the army by his father who treated him as the successor of the family rather than a child then adult. In... more>> a normal society, he’s not going to be a fully mature, socially capable adult let alone in an ABO setting where is is literally at the top of the pyramid in terms of genetics.

The MC is naive, a bit of a glass sibling due to being a beta, evolving to be capable in every social setting, yet influenced by a society that thinks he is not good enough because of gender, failing to realise how much he is actually liked/loved. A bullish, arrogant ML comes into his life with a ‘look at me’ attitude and the MC falls for it. There is manipulation, the ML trying to get the MC to look at him in the worst ways sometimes, but when the ML figures it out, the MC definitely has the upper hand in the long run.

Its not some superior novel, but it’s not bad. <<less

I only really hated that MC forgave his mother soooo easily after mom sobbed a but to MC about how sorry she was. I understand if he wanted to not forego their relationship but immediately acting like nothing happened? I cant do that.

Also, the fact that MC was the one who was wronged by the mom but he had to console her in the end about it made me SO F-ING MAD

Eh. The premise was sound and I found the beginning interesting enough to want to read more, but... it feels like the author was trying really hard (and failing) to put a round peg into a square hole.

The attempt at intrigue was laughable and I believe they really did a disservice to their main characters, especially the ML, by using coercion as shorthand for love. I really think there was more nuance to the himbo than the author was capable of writing. Some of the author notes lead me to... more>> believe that they intended a dog-blood, ABO angst fest but couldn’t bring themselves to pull it off. So it’s patches of ‘this really awful thing’ catapulting into inexplicable emotional shifts that the (actually pretty good) MC is forced into by the author... and then two paragraphs of a INTRIGUE that start and resolve in those two paragraphs.

The translation was pretty good, but this is a skip. <<less
