Just after reading the first chapter I'm hooked. It's well written, propperly translated and edited, and the premise is understable and believable. Most misunderstanding novels require you to turn your brain off to enjoy them, or require the MC to be functionally s*upid, but this MC takes the novel approach of trying to solve the mystery.... of himself.

Another CN misunderstanding novel where MC gain powers beyond comprehension but don't know it, yet they are seen as mysterious immortals by others, the only difference here is that the MC is aware that something happened to him and he gained cultivation powers but he thinks that it is very limited, and due to lack of communication and transparency it never gets corrected, it is quite funny though, as the misunderstanding isn't forced; and, what happens is MC like his enemies, thinks that his powers come from righteous aura and... more>> is op against ghost/supernatural/yin/illusion, things like those and true to that, he mostly fights those kinds and of things and whenever he fights physically it's against old people, so due to wrong assumptions, the truth actually never comes out and his misunderstandings never get corrected. It's nothing new but it's written well and is quite entertaining, definitely a great read. <<less

While I do think this story is interesting, there is a big problem that, once noticed, does not go away. I am talking about the use of ellipses. Much of the story uses ellipses to emphasize pauses or deep thoughts. I am not exaggerating when I say that every two or three sentences will contain an ellipsis.

The concept was good, but it went downhill fast. The immortality part was well done, if only this novel was about being an immortal and discovering and developing ones abilities.

Instead this novel is about how women are attracted to him and want to get into his pants. So far on average every ten to fifteen chapters a new harem member is being introduced, with the first one being introduced chapters 2-3 and the second around chapter 5. 75%-100% of each chapter is about his interactions with his harem members.

If you read this sort of novel before, such as "I’ll Quit Being a God", then you probably know what you're in for.

But what makes this novel standout from the rest of its cousins is MC "maturity" and his relationship with his harem.

MC is not blind with justice nor is he naive, I mean he is kind and go out of his way to help people, even if those people are someone that has lost their way but is willing to change. But, he also knows when to throw someone... more>> to the "underworld" to put it nicely and when to be ruthless and show no mercy. I also like how MC philosophy slowly evolve and he realized that his point of view is too narrow and begin to widen it.

Also this story really build MC relationship with his harem really well, of course none of the heroine IMMEDIATELY become part of the harem but it was slowly build up. MC is not dense and he knows the feeling and emotion of the women around him, it's just he is passive about it. However, when one of the woman that likes the MC approach him, he gladly receives her love. And yes, by that I mean MC actually do the DEED with them, and he does it ALOT. Honestly this kinda CAUGHT me off guard abit but its a welcome surprise, of course MC doesnt just do it with anyone only the people he loves.

Thats enough of the MC now lets talk about the heroines, this novel actually took the time to build up the women around MC, they dont just get introduce in one arc and then move to the next girl, they actually will show up again and when they show up they are usually involved heavily with the current arc. Not only that, the relationship dynamic between the heroines are also good and adorable. For example, heroine A and heroine B have abit of rival tendency, but they both like heroine C because heroine C is so innocent and heroine C sees heroine A and B and her "big sister".

One thing that kinda bug me is MC has the tendency to hide his power and "play with his enemy" by that I mean he usually wait till his opponent does all of their fancy moves before completely destroying them. This can get annoying since these antagonists usually always look down on the MC when they first encounter him. But its always fun to see them get rekt afterward.

As for the ending, this novel has over 550-ish Chapter, and I feel it CAN continue to like 1000 chapters ish if the author wants but the author decided to end there. NOT SAYING IT IS RUSH no, but let just say the Final boss is beaten but the Secret boss is not beaten YET.

Good. A very fun and well written novel. Akin to a misunderstanding work like Eminence in Shadow or One Punch Man, it relies heavily on the supporting cast over interpreting the actions of the MC to create a comedic effect. It’s a similar loop in every chapter, but it never feels stale. There’s real progression in this work, where the MC slowly develops his own strength and ability. They’re not just meaningless text used to fill up a quota; they’re living and breathing people in this work. They all have motives, backgrounds, and unique personalities. The women more so, each unique and special, interacting dynamically with the MC and other characters. They’re not just vases to be put aside and forgotten. That’s where this novel shines.

For the review from @the_black_gi, I have to very much disagree. It’s a very shallow and ignorant review that overlooks a lot of the novel’s strong suits. These women do not just exist to exist, they surround the MC because of his character and action. He is benevolent, kind, gentle, but also a guide, a mentor, and a pillar. He helps them in their times of need, and guides them to a better version of themselves. So to disqualify them as cheap prostit**es is a great disrespect to the effort the author put in.

This novel is very good, and a fun read. It’s not a masterpiece, but it does excellently for what it’s set out to achieve: to be a comedic novel. Don’t expect major laughs, but every chapter has been amusing and enjoyable. I can’t help but smile while reading the work, and have even went out of my way to review and defend this novel.
