This is more of slice of life and love development between MC and ML.

And I love how they fell from one another. Their adversities and joys and detailed. It's also engaging due to hilarious scenes akong their interaction. As mentioned above about the focus of the story, you shouldn't expect a detailed plot since the focus is the romance/love development.

Good read!

I admit to writing this review when I've only dipped into the beginning, but no one has written a review for this novel yet so I just wanted to say that SO FAR THIS IS A TREASURE! Far from your typical zombie apocalypse story & far from your typical BL love story. So far the MC is an intelligent, empathetic young scientist who get zombified. Our unlucky MC has been bitten and is in process of zombification when he saves the MC, a high level alpha with military training. The... more>> MC then proceeds to save the ML again a short time later and they team up. That's when the comedy really begins! To explain the mentality of the MC, he desperately brings a "Hamster Raising Guide, " hoards supplies, and even has a semi-trailer with which to travel. He is a beta* and the ML is a high level alpha with the smell of mint. The MC keeps saving the ML telling himself he's protecting his food supply for later instead of admitting he still wants to retain as much of his humanity as possible and denying he is a zombie.

*Note: I don't understand why they say he is a beta, then he has a light white tea pheromone and a gland on the back of his neck. It basically describes what is typically called an omega and says beta instead. My only complaint about the novel, but they may explain it as a different world setting later & I haven't read it yet. I will try to edit my review when/if I finish! This is where I'm at so far. I love the comedy, the sarcasm, the misunderstandings because the MC's facial paralysis and inability to make expressions due to his zombification. I highly recommend this if you want an apocalyptic romantic comedy! <<less

One of the better apocalypse BL I have read. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and is mainly slice of life between the zombie MC and ML, with some instances of action and angst throughout the story. The side characters are memorable and likable, and the author clearly inverted some of the usual ABO tropes on purpose, which I appreciated. The MC is a somewhat possessive zombie beta who is always hungry, and ML a gentle/serious alpha that has self-control (thank god there was no 'rapist alpha' trope).

He meets and saves a wounded ML and the two soon start living together in one of the few remaining safe cities. Eventually the MC is starting to turn completely into a zombie, so the main conflict of a story is finding a cure and then helping the rest of the human population. Many chapters are just about MC (a foodie) and ML going out hunting with friends. They adopt a wolf and a cat. ML is strong but not OP. MC is the most OP character as a zombie, but he pays a price in humanity whenever he fights, so it does help add some tension to the combat scenes. Given that the novel is only 63 chapters, it doesn't overstay its welcome and avoids the issue of becoming boring like similar stories with 200+ chapters of fluff with next to no engaging plot.

If anything, don't expect the content to be very serious. Even when a fierce opponent appears, usually it's just a comedy skit where the MC grabs a car door and starts beating it. Although there is some genuine angst with him almost transforming into a true zombie later. I would have also liked if the MC acted a bit more zombie-like for the first third of the story. If the author put their mind to it, they probably could have extended the whole story to 100 chs and made the content a bit more fleshed out at times, but for what it is, I have no other complaints.

Given how the story avoided the most annoying ABO tropes, had likable characters and an engaging story, this is definitely worth a read. <<less

The MC is super funny haha I love all his inner monologues. He's both naïve in a way and sarcastic at the same time. The ML absolutely dotes on him so it's been a pretty fluffy ride so far.

i think the only thing im confused about is how he's a beta but also has glands and pheromones - hopefully it'll be answered later in the book.

It's a slice of life read more than anything, and great to read... more>> when you need a mental break from heavy plots or angst. as for my confusion with the glands - honestly still not clear, idk if it's cause he became a zombie and the glands of zombies are technically their weak parts and where their zombie novel trope "cores" are or what. Never really explained why a beta had glands and pheromones and was sensitive to pheromones - so dont go into this book expecting logical abo stereotypes. <<less

Seriously it's no wonder why this novel has a high rating. This novel is a fantastic read. This novel can make you laugh, cry, sad and be delighted. Both MC and ML are lovable and you will feel the hardship they had experienced together.

I really recommend this novel to everyone. Such a good read and experience.

If this one has a live action drama or movie, I hope they execute it as beautiful as the novel.

3.5 stars, had a problem trying to adjust the stars.

  • Inconsistent - if MC is a zombie why can they just kiss with no consequences
  • Zombie with no taste for human flesh who can eat sleep and sh*t (sorry for the vulgarity) the only tell tale sign being increased strength. Should have written him as a strength based super power.
I haven't finished the story due to these reasons, it doesn't read like an apocalyptic novel to me.

A short sweet read you could get through in a day!

There's not much to say about the plot, it's very simple and the world element of zombies are much less tense than other novels. An indulgent read, don't mind the plot holes and stuff. I thought it would be an epic-type of novel but it's actually very simple. Still, it's very touching in what it does.

This novel is interesting, but a bit hard to understand DX It's a comedy, so metaphors and such are to be expected. Anyway, I didn't have much patience to parse through it, so I'm setting it aside to read another day.

Somewhat between 3 to 4 stars. The story is nice but the translation sucks. The first 24 chapters are unedited MTL while the rest is slightly edited and better readable.

The story has a humorous undertone thanks to a silly MC and even more silly side characters (pets). Kind of cute.

It is not one of the really detailed and planned out stories. It kind of lacks logic and sometimes the pacing feels of. The story progresses as if it's about weeks and then it says it's just 5 days. The timing... more>> is off.

Also one of the real mind boggling things is that the already have a potion that saves you after a zombiebite from becoming a zombie... but there is no vaccine or antivirus. In the end they have one but it is confusing the heel out of me.. well the story is not detailed on the background, it emphasis strongly the love story.

Nauurrr--- I badly wanted to read extras but none T.T

Not gonna lie, I shed a tear or two. There are moments that will really touch your heart. Their emotions, the helplessness, the danger around, the loneliness, ughhhh, such a wonderful story.

It may not be perfect but I love it. I wish it was longer and like have extras after their ehem marriage.

Highly recommended!

I absolutely love this story! Apocalypse plus omegaverse!

I love the fluffy moments between MC and ML! MC is so adorable!! Especially how he thinks!! I love the moment when they got to see the Xuanwu and sister Qing was happily popping the bubbles produce by the Xuanwu and suddenly MC woukd say 'does this bubbles his snot or his fart' hahahaha it kills the happy mood but at the same time it cracks me up!

MC is a beta and ML is an alpha, but I think MC became an omega after he became a zombie, I think MC and ML are meant to be together, MC "accidentally" saved the ML's life in return MC was bitten. I think MC became an omega the moment he met the ML during that time he was injecting the anti body to the ML.

I also love how the ML would say to MC that he's just sick and not a zombie, how sweet is that right! At first you'll be like awww but you can see how also ML is so desperate that MC would not become a complete zombie!

In the end they got married! And everything was returned to normal! Although feels like they ended the story immediately but still I love it!

Believe me, actually I want to rate it as 4.0, but the inconsistency and lack of logic on the zombie setting is pissed me of on many occasion and distracted me for mmthe sweet :) so I give it 3.9, I know it's just a details like author said MC is face paralyzed (can't smile, smirk, just flat) but in many occasion they wrote eyes bent, lips truns upward etc... and it just between one chapter... and zombie MC kissing with ml.. if the zombie characteristics is general.. this... more>> kissing scene will not be here.. (although our MC is half zombie) viruses concept is like a joke :), time also ambiguous, they said MC is doctor and he indeed meet ML at hospital then they said MC was 21, bruh.. if Apocalypse started 3 years ago MC already became surgeon at 18... and if that 18 old year boy is already surgeon, logically he must be smart, and if zombiefication made his brain kinda bad, we need to know how bad it is.. and indeed it had many fluff and wholesome heart warming dialogue still for me it's not enough to rate it as 4.0. There's many more but Imma to lazy write it, so if u just want fluff gi ahead and read, if u can't accept those things I wrote better move to another novel <<less
