Everyone said Rong Zhen’s partner, Jiang Jili, was beautiful, talented, and virtuous, adored by a prominent figure.

However, only Jiang Jili knew the truth—he was nothing more than a plaything to Rong Zhen, to be used when Rong Zhen was in a good mood. Despite being married for three years, Jiang Jili had never stepped foot into the master bedroom. He wasn’t worthy. Even when they were intimate, it was confined to his room, with Rong Zhen looming over him like an emperor indulging in a fleeting whim.

In Rong’s household, Jiang’s status didn’t even surpass that of the fierce, unruly Tibetan mastiff. Everyone knew Jiang was terrified of the dog, yet no one intervened. Rong Zhen coldly watched on multiple occasions as the vicious dog pounced on Jiang, leaving him trembling with fear, so much so that he was bedridden with a fever for a week.

At a high-society gathering in Huai City, Jiang drank something tainted and collapsed in a hotel room, gasping for breath. Meanwhile, Rong Zhen, perfectly composed in his suit, toyed with his phone, recording the scene.

Rong Zhen had always considered Jiang a joke.

Later, when Rong Zhen’s grandmother demanded a grandchild, Jiang was discarded like tr*sh. Qin Family’s elegant heiress would surely provide the perfect heir for the Rong family.

Jiang laid the divorce papers before Rong Zhen.

Rong Zhen, leisurely but menacingly, warned him: “If you dare leave this house without my permission, you’ll regret it.”

Jiang left cleanly, without looking back.

By the time Rong Zhen realized what had happened, Jiang Jili had disappeared.

After Jiang disappeared, Rong Zhen became a mad dog.

Suspicious and brooding, his very presence felt like walking through a minefield. Everyone knew that the biggest taboo was mentioning Jiang Jili’s name. Rong Zhen missed Jiang Jili so desperately it nearly drove him insane.

Every night, Rong Zhen slept in Jiang Jili’s room, desperately trying to find any trace of him. But there was nothing.

As if to punish him, the only thing he had left of Jiang Jili was that video—

In it, the young man’s eyes were red, his fingers trembling as he clutched Rong Zhen’s pants, nearly choking on his words: “Help me…”

From the phone’s speaker, Rong Zhen heard his own cold voice:

“Jiang Jili, do you even deserve it?”

A child star named Jiang Chong quickly rose to fame, gaining immense popularity. Despite his young age, Jiang Chong carried himself with a maturity beyond his years. Observant individuals couldn’t help but notice a striking resemblance between the boy and that infamous figure in the Rong family.

Brave reporters sometimes asked, “Does Chong Chong take after his father or his mother?”

Jiang Chong: “My father, my father’s surname is Jiang.”

One day, a picture of Jiang Chong’s father was leaked—a delicate, handsome youth with soft features.

Many people were disappointed, but Rong Zhen went mad.

Jiang Jili.

He could recognize him even if he were reduced to ashes.

If you tell me the genre of this story is horror and thriller then I'd believe you.

I'm almost halfway through the story and it's freaking scary. I really pity the MC. He's very very very traumatised and the only happy ending I can imagine for this story is if the ML dies and leaves a lot of money to MC and his child so that they can leave this place and start a new life.

Now I'll explain why I gave this story one star:

Spoiler

The MC and ml's child. It's not a child. A 5 year old child is not supposed to act like that. A 5 year old doesn't have that kinda ability, and even if he did, nobody would take a 5 year old this seriously. He's investing in stocks, has people under him who can investigate the ml, has contacts that can let him leave the country etc. He's basically a 5 year old cold oppressive ceo who only loves one person and that's his dad (mc). He also understands the ways ML had tortured the MC. Normal 5 year olds don't understand r*pe, domestic violence or s*xual ab*se. Genius 5 year olds don't either. Also, why is he not going to a school or kindergarten? What the heck?

[collapse]

Also, even though the ML is an irredeemable piece of shit,

Spoiler

somehow they end up together.

[collapse]

I honestly cannot understand how people (within the novel) can claim ML is pitiful?? He's a grown man who also tortured his lawfully wedded spouse, destroyed any self esteem he could've had, treated him like a toy, ab*sed him mentally and sexually, and then for some reason he also thought that the MC ought to love him (even tho ML himself claimed that MC was a toy to him). It's disgusting. I have no idea how I managed to stick around till chapter 40 (maybe I was waiting for the crematorium?) but at this point I feel like the MC is so tortured it's better to just die instead. As a person who has cynophobia, if somebody forced me to have s*x in the balcony that oversees the garden where two giant ferocious dogs are barking and threatened me to throw me to the dogs if I didn't play along while so many people and two scary dogs were watching and listening to everything, then I'd feed that person and myself some rat poison and die together with him.

Oh right, the name of the story (which currently seems to be "After I Died, The Obsessive Emperor Faced His Consequences", is wrong. I'm not kidding, it's actually the wrong name. It's another story written by the same author. The original name of this story is "After I ran away with the ball, my ex-husband was buried in the crematorium" (A direct mtl of the original name). <<less

It's something... For starters, I'd remove the omegaverse tag. Barely anything on that from what I read.

The MC cries too much. At first I understand he is fearful and can't help but shed tears. But when the second volume hits, you'd expect a change in mentality. But he keeps crying. He never stops. Every encounter he has with the ML describes him as a damsel in distress that sheds tears at first glance at his aggressor (the ML). Thank goodness he stops crying by the third volume. So hold out... more>> until then, he does approve but it's pretty much near the end of the story.

One more gripe I have is you'd think the MC has a bit more oomph in personality, but he's just that type of person. A glass vase. He barely has anything going for him except his ability to play the piano. Again, he does change by the time when he and the ML reconcile and get together. But everything about him seems to be just a dainty pretty lotus that somehow attracts too many disgusting flies (basically the ML love rivals, they are the foil to showcase how dashing and protective the ML is...)

The ML is your typical control-freak and childish bastard. He is crazy maniac that deserves to be locked up in an insane asylum. You'd think his personality was shaped by his environment? Nah man, he was ruthless from the get-go. He has no morals. I've read f*cked-up MLs, and he is like them. He only changed cause he couldn't get the MC's love. LMFAO. So he gets no sympathy from me.

Spoiler

seriously, this man was about to die in a burning building that he himself orchestrated. The ML wanted to commit su*cide because he couldn't get the MC. Luckily, the MC somehow saved him in time lest the story ends in a tragedy. *facepalms* As a mentally ill man, get yourself checked in the hospital, and the MC needs to help with that. Geezus fk.

[collapse]

Their child... uhh, I really feel like the author has never been around kids. What I mean is, that child acts like a full grown adult. Kids at the age of 5 don't act like the way that child does, even the smart ones.
Spoiler

I mean what child invest in stocks? Don't you need a government ID for that type of stuff. He's 5 too, how can he read market trends so easily. That sh*t is hard asf. It's more convincing to write that the child helps out the neighbors to earn some income. Idk wtf the author was writing about at that point.

[collapse]
Also, I really thought their child would have some significant role down the line. But nevermind, their child barely does anything. This is a story mainly about the constant drama between the MC and ML.

This is a pure entertainment story. Some stuff is lacking. Unrealistic things happen that don't make any sense.

Rating:4.5. It is a dog-blood drama type of story. Better to shut off your brain when reading this stuff. Compared to other dog-blood drama novella, this is pretty good. <<less

ML is the best example of the environment we live, shapes our personality. He lived in wolf's den that no one teach him the right and wrong and only strong is right that's why he became a mad dog. No one question him or defy him in the Rong family.

MC is a sweet rabbit from honest family. He has a soft heart that's why he always taken advantage off and also stubborn. I wish I could hug him in the start of story.

Start of the novel

Spoiler

In the first chapter of the novel your blood pressure will surely rise because of ML specially the "live show" he do to MC. I wish I can strangle him from there 😭. The first few chapters are the worst ever. The way he treat MC is just like a beautiful plaything. ML bully MC but he never allowed others to bully MC even if his mother. However, ML brain circuit is crazy damage for sure. I wish I can knock his head to make it work properly to have GMRC. (Good moral and right conduct) 😤. You need tons of wipes especially for us who likes an onion.

[collapse]

I don't get it to those who rate 1 star. In the title, it clearly told how the story will run so you need to expect the ML is the worst s*umbag you ever read. To those who will try any novel to read never based in the rating because not all of us has the same cup of tea to read. 🤧 Chasing Arc

Spoiler

The chasing arc is long and definitely satisfying to read. ML will be a crazy mad dog just to find MC. MC has a soft heart but it doesn't mean he can easily forgive ML. There are many challenges and some crazy bastards who just what revenge and just want to watch the show. There's also amnesia part, guess who? 🤫

[collapse]

The novel is happy ending. YES, it's happy ending despite of all ML do to MC. MC forgiving ML is not instantly it takes time and process. He forgives him but doesn't mean he forgets. MC teach him and ML tries to change to be a better person for him.

The extra chapters in the end of the novel are their next life 😁 <<less
