At first, I thought it was just a story about ancient gods living their mundane lives in modern era. But wasn't.

The first twenty chapters indeed seem boring and dull. But thank god, I was persistent and continued reading until I found out that in chapter twenty-one the plot started escalating and hooked me to read it until the end.

  • the MC and ML are treated like grown adults and not weirdly put in the same boxes as hetero couples although not completely as the MC looks like a teenager and it’s always mentioned, even made as a pe*verted and completely disturbing source of “beauty” and they still assign the same heteros*xual gender roles to literal gods.
  • the pure and unconditional love is what makes this novel shine. They both go against their nature without martyring themself to the other in order to properly love each other. The same goes for side couples and minor couples. That was my most favorite part of the novel.
  • the big reveal at the end is gratifying but the loop has no end so it takes away from the charm.

    they never explain why their world was destroyed and how the ML managed to save the MC from the very beginning. Yes, he started as a king of the gods but he gave away the other half of his godhead and had yet to discover li jin’s antics. All things that would lead to that future weren’t set up so how did he end up saving MC already???

  • some of the execution on particular arcs or plot points is frustrating and leaves a lot to be desired.
  • i was highly disappointed by the little black room scenario. That’s just r*pe and s*xual ab*se. At that point, the ML doesn’t remember him so he’s just using him and he doesn’t even ask for consent. Just because the victim looks like they’re enjoying it doesn’t make it not r*pe. Just because they don’t outright refuse doesn’t make it a “yes” or a “keep going.” I don’t like the fact that that was glossed over.
  • i liked that MC is ruthless when need be and it was cathartic to see him crush the transmigrators and systems who were evil.
this is a novel I loved at the very end but I wouldn’t read again. I have my reservations with it. Recommendable but it could have been better.

Good bl novel for beginner, soft and cute story of two Gods, comedic ML, smart MC, and great story plot!

I read it at machine translation, it is readable and understandable for me who not fluent in English.

No spoiler, so I'll just tell how I like the novel, it was sweet pet of domineering president troupe (kind of) but not cringe enough to be abandoned. I dropped them 3 times, but still finished reading it in four days. (Me and my short attention span :)))

This is a novel touching the 'logic' or 'theory' of quick transmigration, evil and good systems, rebirth and everything that comes near the topics, so it's a bit confusing, but soon you will understand.

Mere words are not enough to convey how much I like this story. MC and ML are both idiots in love and I'm loving it all. They are freaking adorable. There would be times when you'd think "ML's going to be blackbelly and yandere" and then he turns around and wags his tail cuz there's no way he's going to anger his chacha.

The entire story is so cute I'm bloated with dogfood. I'm glad I didn't read this before cuz that way I had something good left to read now.... more>> This story has ruined me to other romances and I might not be able to read other BL without comparing the pairing to this one.

Some people might call them mary sue, but who are you kidding? They are gods. Are they supposed to go through ice and fire just to fight a mortal or an evil ghost? Doesn't make sense according to their character settings. MC and ML are both very good looking, and are described as "out of this world" because they are literally out of this world. They are gods, they don't belong to this realm.

They are a power couple through and through, and I'm so, so glad that the misunderstandings and conflicts I expected didn't happen because they have the kind of tacit understanding born through thousands and thousands of years of love. They didn't fall in love at first sight, and how they fell in love is yet another thing I love about this story.

MC and ML are both powerful in their own right. However, there are times where they are powerless and conflicts they can't resolve. At that time, they do not hesitate to ask for help. They are also not the top of the food chain, even though they had the option to be the most powerful gods in this world, they gave it up due to their love for each other.

Ahem, I realised I haven't said anything about the side characters and OMG THEY ARE SO CUTE. The actual king of gods is so adorable too, a true brother. The mortal characters are also very, very likeable. Each and every arc touched my heart in ways I cannot explain because my vocabulary is woefully limited. The writing style was kinda poetic. It was romantic in a way that made you drunk, unable to put down the book. The best part of this story is that the arcs did not only focus on romantic love, but also platonic love. The love between a mother and a son that transcended death, the love between a brother and a sister that transcended species.

The way this story is written is just *chef's kiss* I love it. This is one of the few stories I'll reread. I'm so glad I wasn't put off by some of the reviews here, I had almost lost the chance to experience such a beautiful love that transcended divinity and time. <<less

This novel is about a sweet love life of two god trying their best to prolong their partner life, unaware of their partner being a god and doing the same.

It's full of Dog Food + second hand embarrassment + misunderstanding + more dog food......... and so on.

... more>> I really like the different concept and perspective shown on transmigrattion genre/universe, the twist it added in the story and how it affected others.

Also the Romance is really good. MC and ML relationship is sweet and harmonious.

And despite ML having typical red flag Characteristic, he's actually a GREEN FLAG...... All for his lover.

I have enjoyed the novel especially in the early chapters. But at this point it has been a bit draggy for me and now I’m feeling a bit lazy to finish this. Leaving this for my future self if ever I get back the energy to read this again.

Based on the description I went into the novel expecting slice of life with misunderstandings and silly confusions and this novel did have that, and so much more! You have transmigrators, systems, otherworldly travels, godly showdowns, entertainment industry, campus life, time loops and so on. The author manages to make everything fit into a novel with a plausible explanation. The story has several arcs with side characters and mini villains but nothing takes away from the main story of the evil god and the snow god. This was honestly such... more>> a good read. If I had to nitpick, I would say the last few chapters where the author explains what happened in the background felt too much like a rushed summary rather than part of the novel. <<less

THIS SUMS UP THE GIST OF THIS EPIC LOVE STORY AH!

Mindblown to the core guys! There are so many layers to the story and when you think you grasped the story well the author throws you a hot potatoe! Twists and SO MUCH LOVE 😭😭 the first 50 or so chapters were just the tip of the iceberg!

Lord evil and lord snow will take you on a journey that will never make you forget about how amazing love can be and... more>> how blissful it is to fall in love over and over again😭😭

Really love this novel so fluff and legit just love how they are obsessed w eachother and how evil god is so possessive of baicha or just really likes keeping him happy. There were a few arcs that I just wanted to seriously binge read so I could just see fluff moments b/w main couple like the school arc and the sea world arc god I was so bored legit just binging this at this point to see the fluff moments

Unexpectedly interesting, so many genre in one story n blend well... The ML and MC love so fua fua~~they are devoted to each other make the single me jealous and wanna fall in love too...

This novel is so interesting that one can't help but want to read it in one go. The love between ML (evil god) and MC (snow god) is enviable. Their interactions are hilarious because Almost half of the novel they dont know about each other's identity. They have a long history of being together and in love. The MC is so adorable and kind. The ML despite being Evil god is much better than many righteous gods in this novel. They are simply a pair made in heaven. This novel... more>> is contains alot of fluff and dog food. The side pairs are also interesting especially The system and student pair while about the main god and son of luck pair you have to read their own story which is also very interesting but more heartwrenching than this story's couple. It has a good plot also so you should give it a read and you won't regret it. <<less

Loved it! This novel made me realize I actually like world-hopping and quick transmigration novels lol! I can see how the multiple subplots and genres might put some people off, but I actually enjoyed them because the CP's interactions and the variety of scenarios were just very interesting to read! There was also a variety show arc, which was a whole other subplot within a subplot, but in the end, I think everything was tied together well. It made sense that the issues that the CP confronted happened because there... more>> was a whole other overarching plot going on. I'm glad we didn't just jump to the main conflict and actually got to see the day-to-day life of the CP as a married god couple existing within the lore that was established. They're gods living as mortals, but they still have their godly duties. I especially love how the author balanced fluff with the comedic undertone and lore because with most novels that have lore as robust as this one, the fluff and romance can easily get sidelined at some point. I saw another review mention g*ooming, but what happened was actually the opposite. Visual age gap doesn't automatically equate to g*ooming, especially in this novel where they are both primordial beings, though I can understand how that can be uncomfortable to some. If you want details that are hella spoilery:

MC and ML met and fell in love as balls of primordial energy before the universe as we know it even existed. By the time MC and ML took human form, they were already several millennia old. MC's true form does have a teenager's appearance, but if you read historical danmei novels or even half the popular Seven Seas danmei xianxia danmei titles where most MCs are around 16-18 years old, I don't think this will be much of an issue. There was a misunderstanding where ML thought he had misread MC's intentions, and MC didn't actually think of him as a lover but as a family member instead. He tried to bury his feelings and did not pursue MC at all, only to find out later that MC did feel the same this whole time and was just unable to communicate properly.

Something worth noting as well is that there's going to be a perspective change later on in the novel where the ML becomes the protagonist. The event that leads to this is very heavily hinted at and foreshadowed early on so when it does happen, it doesn't catch you off-guard at all, and you also kind of expect it. The ML does save the MC, but I personally don't think that diminished the MC's badassery at all.

The MC and ML had actually met a lot earlier but the MC died so ML had to go back in time and do all sorts of things so that they can be together. We get to see plotpoints or backstories told from the MC's POV from the ML's POV.

Up until the protagonist change, the MC was able to solve most of the conflicts on his own using his wit and abilities. If you ever thought, "man I wish I could also read the novel from the gong's perspective" - this novel basically does that. We know that the ML must be a powerful god as well, and we get to see that in his arc. Most times, the MC actually just lets him have the spotlight because it amuses him. (This trope is present in almost all of Fu Bai Qu's works btw, including An Empire as A Betrothal Gift.)

It's an enjoyable read overall. Highly recommended if you're the type who wants a light read and likes lots of lore and fluff in your danmei. <<less

I really wanted to like this book.

To give a fair review, I honestly enjoyed the first act. The way the characters and the plot played out in the first arc reminded me of the absurdities you'll find in mythologies. It had comedy but also a hint of angst considering both of the main characters were gods but also both thought they were in love with a mortal. This premise was what drew me in.

Unfortunately, as the story progresses it felt like the author’s writing style became more and more of... more>> telling too much rather than showing. It’s like the author did not want to give the readers an opportunity to read between the lines or make their own deductions about where the plot was heading, which takes me to my next complaint. So many plot points were built up only to fall flat! The threats, villains, and side characters were cartoonish and just appeared as caricatures of common danmei tropes. Events and ideas that could have been explained concisely in a single paragraph dragged on and on without really adding anything necessary. Perhaps there are people that enjoy this kind of writing style but it just wasn't for me.

Another problem I had was that it almost seemed like the author was in some sort of competition on how many tropes they could fit, not just in the plot, but in the characters as well. A lot of concepts established earlier in the story were just scrapped in order to add newer ones which actually just ended up as plot holes. It feels like in an attempt to diversify the world building the author just made it stop making sense instead.

I would still like to give it 2 stars though. One star for the main couple’s chemistry which is mainly the reason why I stayed and another star for the potential that, sadly, it fell short of. <<less

This story is the best description of "everything comes to a full circle". All causes and effects are related. The love story is so touching! Because all of MC and ML's did for their love to each other. Their love is so great, it spans and benefits the natures itself.

Great author. Maybe at first, you will be a bit bored because its all so clichè. MC and ML are already together. Only a misunderstanding between them. But the side-all kind of genre's stories from rebirth, transmigration, modern supernatural, mythology, system-bounds,... more>> apocalypse. The author could mix it so seamlessly. I love how the author didn't define the Gods as the Almighty, as they all should bow to "Heaven Law". Yes, they could make rain and thunders, they could rewind time, they could go wherever they want in the whole cosmos, but in the end.. They have their own destiny. Bravo

And the author choose to close the story with that motto : everything comes to a full circle. Really worth to read!!! <<less

This was actually... really cute. Light-hearted, but has enough plot and drama to keep you reading. The couple goes through their arcs and even when their identities are revealed to each other, the story doesn't get boring. The backstory of ML and MC is super sweet, and their current story is just as sweet. ML is your arrogant "I don't care about anyone but the MC" while the MC is the "I love ML but can he pay attention to the world we're running???" Their dynamic (which fits the whole... more>> evil god x snow god characterization) is quite hilarious, and it seems like the novel has a bit of a sand sculpture aspect to it. Recommend for a quick day read! <<less

Of you are looking for sweet interactions between ML and MC then this is for you.

The novel is sweet.

There is a little bit of misunderstanding in their understanding of each other identity. But it would be resolved halfway of the novel.

The world building is very comprehensive.

Many interesting side stories.

And a another book for side couple, King of gods and defector protagonist

Hehehe they're so cute. Such a great feel good novel with just the right amount of conflict & tension. Proper build up of the world and story that had just the right amount of detail to engage but not bore.

Loved all the tropes executed to perfection. And so unique and fun how they brought in all the usual danmei genres.

This novel is about nothing and everything at the same time. What I loved about this story is that there are many different arcs with interesting characters. At first glance, while reading the arcs, they don't look special, but at the end of the arc, the author suddenly gives us precious life lessons. Every arc, no matter its content, gives us something to think about, and I loved this. The author's words are touching and have deep meaning.

Because of the synopsis, it seems that this is a simple story about... more>> two silly gods and their relationship, but that's actually not true. Yes, the storyline revolves around MC and ML, but their relationship isn't silly at all; Their love story is beautiful. There are some misunderstandings, but they're understandable; every reasonable person would misunderstand too. MC and ML are just lovable. MC is noble and kind; he has no bottom line for ML and will do anything for him. ML cares for and loves MC so much that he will go against his own nature. The fact that one represents everything evil and the other everything pure, yet they fell in love with each other, is so touching. Their love story is extremely romantic. There are many scenes that will melt your heart.

About the plot itself. At first, it seems that the arcs aren't connected, but actually they are, and in every arc, the author gives some clues about what will happen. The final chapters have all the answers and have a really big plot twist. I thought that I knew what would happen, but I was wrong. At the very beginning, the stories are lighter, but then relationships between side characters become more complex and interesting. Side characters are well-rounded and have their own backgrounds, which makes the novel even more interesting.

The author is brilliant, creative, and manages to balance the story very well. There are sweet and sad moments, but it is still light reading. The story is wonderful and more complex than it may seem. The ending was beautiful. And the extra chapters were too fun. The author just spoiled us. I would definitely recommend reading it. <<less
