After Mistakenly Binding The Matchmaker System

I intended to bind the red thread for the male and female protagonists, but unexpectedly bound the male protagonist and…myself Σ(°Д°;

Nine-tailed fox Li Shu has been in seclusion for thousands of years, was mistakenly bound by the Matchmaker System and crossed into a world of sadistic novels to complete missions.

System 1314: Our mission is to match the male and female protagonists, ensuring that the lovers become a couple!

After several worlds:

System 1314 knelt to its host who does not follow common sense: Host, stop! Our goal is to match the male protagonist with the female protagonist, not the male protagonist with you!!!

Li Shu’s slender fox eyes narrowed slightly: Isn’t the mission completed?

1314 looked at the male protagonist by the host’s side, whose happiness value had gone up, and several worlds with SS-level completion, and was speechless.

Later, when 1314 received the highest achievement award in the system world, it sighed with a vicissitude: All of this is thanks to the young and ignorant me who bound to the wrong host!

CP: “Fox demon with outstanding appearance and fighting prowess” shou X “Male protagonist in abusive worlds that always want him to blacken” gong.

I always like quick transmigration, and this one also one that caught my interest.

It's just... a little bit too quick, IMO.

Earlier arcs are decent, I also love the face-slapping drama. But yeah, all tropes are... mediocre. Aren't we all already have read enough zombie apocalypse, interstellar ABO zerg war, or idols backed by magnate?

... more>> The ending was rushed, there are too many loose ropes and I was like.. what? how? how come?

Anyway, if you need some light reading material with short arcs to read separately while enjoying dinner or killing time while commuting, this is for you. <<less

The user Xiu_er resumed my feelings pretty much 😅

Yes, there's not much originality but the author managed to keep it interesting. My only complain is that the author has this annoying habit of brush off important events... Like, the zombie arc was very nice but the ending was sooooo anticlimactic 🙄 I was dumbfounded! I was expecting a great battle with final villain but then he just died and we don't even have a detailed scene or an explanation about his deeds 😅

Even the Real (?) World is rushed to... more>> the point I don't feel like it really ended.

And another disappointment: I was expecting a lot about the matchmaking system. I was waiting for MC to try and match ML and original partner only to have ML fall in love with him. But we get it and then the author forgot the entire point of it 😅 I know that there's other ways of completing the mission but I wasn't expecting the author would discard it so soon.

At least the romance is romancing! I really like their lovey-dovey moments. I don't reject the ML, I have my fair share of obsessed & possessive MLs but still respectful enough to not appear unlikable. I quite like this type of ML 🤷🏽‍♀️

Oh, and I am upsetting there's not even a great scene of MC fighting ☹️ I thought I would see it in some arcs but the author just resumed it "he fought, he was fighting, he is fighting, he won, everyone mis impressed by this dark horse" BUT 👏🏽 WHERE'S 👏🏽 THE 👏🏽 DETAILED 👏🏽 SCENE 👏🏽

Giving it one more star because once again Ckanda made a marvelous work! <<less

Rating: 3.6/5

The general storyline is fine. A lot of cliches and common tropes are applied, but the author managed to keep it interesting enough.

I like cool-headed and op MCs so I have no complaints there. The ML is a huge vinegar jar, very possessive and always playing with the idea of imprisoning the MC so that he could keep him to himself although he always ends up dismissing the idea since he knows that the MC would not like it. Both are characters that don't really stand out much in... more>> the vast sea of quick wear transmigration novels. In fact, the only real memorable fact is that the MC is a nine-tailed fox. But still, he isn't the first nine-tailed fox MC of a quick wear transmigration novel I have read. The lack of originality, however, did not really bother me.

What did bother me was the author's stylistic choices. There were a lot of unexpected cut scenes that disrupted the reading flow. On top of that the author often passed over details and events or summarized them, preventing the reader from immersing themselves in the story. There were also a few inconsistencies. But I can't recall any specific ones right now, though I do remember halting a few times, thinking "Hold on a minute..."

Oh, and the whole premise of matchmaking the ML with the og. partner was also dismissed way too quickly. Considering how there is literally "matchmaker system" written in the title, only for there to be zero matchmaking, it's quite disappointing.

All in all, this novel isn't among the best quick wear transmigration novels I have read nor is it among the worst. It was okay. <<less

It's not horrible, but it's also not interesting. I'm as bored of reading this story as the MC acts he is of being in it.

The first arc has some semblance of interesting premise and potential for relationship development. But it's all downhill from there. It completely loses track of the one aspect of interest mentioned in the synopsis. MC also never really does anything to demonstrate he gives 2 craps about the ML.

There is also nothing unique about this QT that sets it apart or makes it different from the... more>> most tropey aspects of all other QT.

Very yawn worthy. Might be good for people who has read less than 1 or 2 other QT before who wants something mindless to read. Otherwise, keep down your expectations. <<less

Translation: (5/5 stars) The novels translation was excellent! I don’t remember a single instance of names being switched or a person being referred to as both genders. It was 100% understandable! 😊 Thank you translator-nim!

Character development: (4/5 stars) I think this is one of the few world hopping novels that actually has character development for the MC. MC was initially indifferent and didn’t care that much for the people of the worlds he transmigrated into outside of how it affected him. But gradually you can see him start to care... more>> and eventually be unable to stand any injustices, especially if it was on someone he cares for. That being said, their were definitely some inconsistencies in how fast he emotionally professed with the ML, especially in the first world, but if you consider that fact that it’s a world hopping novels translation with multiple arcs it’s more understandable.

Plot: (4/5 stars) Each arc was well thought out. There were plot holes, but there’s no world hopping novels translation that I’ve read yet that doesn’t have plot holes, so it’s expected based on the genre. Now, the title and summary are pretty misleading as outside the first 2 arcs, matchmaking a ML and FL of each world honestly doesn’t really have anything to do with the plot. What I found really interesting was that there was no cultivation arc (which I am not upset about as cultivation arcs or novels are a hit or miss for me). I just wish the last arc was more fleshed out as it was the one I was looking forward to the most. Instead it was the shortest arc and after about 10 chaps in the chapters read more as summaries instead of novel chapters. That arc and the ending were pretty rushed through.

Novel overall: (4/5 stars) For a world hopping novels translation this is pretty good. The different worlds are fleshed out pretty well. <<less

Not the best QT but LEAGUES better than some of the other ones on NU (like Who Touched My Tail?), so JUST THIS ONCE, I'm giving it a slightly higher rating because I don't think it reflects the quality.

The author made a concerted effort to have an overarching story with the novel. Unlike other QT novels which often just read like summaries, the arcs in this story are much less formulaic and there's more "show-not-tell."

What I liked (some of the reviews have complained about it), is that the MC and... more>> ML

Spoiler

don't get together in the first arc, and that the MC feels very distant to the ML and like he doesn't care about the ML. MC is someone who has lived or cultivated for hundreds if not thousands of years. He had a "white moonlight" in his heart already, so it 100% doesn't make sense for him to fall for the ML in just one human lifetime.

QT novels are linked together by multiple worlds/transmigrations/storylines. If the main tension/romance was resolved in the 1st arc, there's nothing for the author to work with in later arcs. Just like if you were reading a regular novel, you wouldn't expect the main characters to get together in the first 20% of the book.

Anyway, it's a big plus that the MC entered the romance fairly slowly. And the character/relationship development spanned multiple worlds.

[collapse]

The earlier arcs were my favorite. They felt very fulfilling and the MC was pretty awesome / strong. I enjoyed him handling his problems by himself.

And the author tried to change it up in every world. For example, he doesn't always get the world's plot and there was even a failure. (Again, not something I can say for most QT which follow a much stricter formula, and a MC who NEVER fails.)

The biggest weakness in the story was the wrap-up.

Spoiler

The author created a ton of set-up and mystery for who the OG ML was and how he became the MC's white moonlight, but then never carried it out. In the initial premise, the MC lost the ML somehow, but the author never brought it up again or closed that loop in the flashback. Furthermore, the author never explained why the ML went through so much effort for the MC - when the MC was a fox, the ML immediately looked for him and protected him, for no apparent reason. Yes, we know that the MC is a special fox, but just because he was supposed to be powerful doesn't mean the ML was just going around looking for and protecting any random creature that was supposed to be powerful.

Why did the ML look for the fox MC in the cave? Why did the ML sacrifice his soul to save the MC when they had never had any intersection before that?

It just felt like there was a ton of missing content or plot holes that weren't explained.

[collapse]

Translation is fine. A few small issues but overall enjoyable read. Though I wish I knew if the missing content was the author's fault. <<less

At the beginning I loved the first arc and most of the characters personalities, it was very interesting and a bit different from other qt novels where usually the mc’s just end up with the ML on the first arc but in this novel MC was focused on his mission.

It was very nice until the second world, I just felt that everything became very unreasonable especially how people started interacting with the MC, I know he’s a fox but does it make sense for the author to make original ML... more>> and MC like the MC so unreasonably. The author also basically throws away the concept of matchmaking the original couples which would have been an amazing story to read and honestly it just started getting boring with the arc being incredibly long and by the time it finished he still had unresolved problems with all the villains, it just felt like they kept throwing villains in until the end of the arc to show how powerful the ML is or how smart the MC is.

Overall it was just a bit overdone, repetitive and could be developed more. <<less

I wanted there to be more romance. And I was expecting it to increase after the first arc but the matchmaking aspect is kind of put ot the wayside. The MC has little emotional fluctuations and it kind of irritates me. I wouldn't say it's a bad thing since there are moments you can clearly see he likes ML but it's no where how obvious it is the ML likes him.

I just wish the story was more true to the description. I was hoping the MC would become more expressive over time but omg I was getting bored. I even went out of my way to skip ahead just to see what would happen. I'm leaving this unfinished until I want to take the mental space to continue.

The whole matchmaking thing was almost completely thrown out by the second world, the arcs are interesting but the main character is very boring and unemotional. The unconcentual s*x at the start of the second arc is disturbing for me despite the character in question being fine with it. On a whole it had a great first arc then almost completely lost the plot.

It's an ok concept. But after the first arc I don't think there even is a need for the system, it's not present for almost most of the story and even when it is it's some minor role.

And yes what even is the use of matchmaking system it's to make sure that both the male and female lead are happy, but where is the female lead at all. After the first arc the female lead isn't there at all, essentially making the system well I don't know pointless.

Another thing for... more>> me is that the MC is said to be this strong nine tailed fox, but he really doesn't show his strength as to his smarts and even that after most arcs it's really rare to see him actually do something rather than the ML doing something and him just tagging along. And for an MC that doesn't really do much he sure is emotionless. There is most of the time nothing going for MC, the ML is thought of in most arcs if not all but the MC is just there more so as a narrator rather than the MC.

Then there is the side characters that are there just so that the story doesn't have just the ML and MC. Essentially they are there so that well they have to aside from that even the MC has more depth then them. Like in the apocalypse arc the MC has a childhood friend, where did that friend go after like 2 chapters and maybe a paragraph worth of lines in those chapters, god knows.

Essentially the only character in this story who is actually thought of and has depth here for me is the ML. Overall needs more improvement <<less

A truly dissapointing one. It could've been developed really well if the author had narrated it better.

Siren King's Bride and Doomsday Fantasy Arc could've been a standalone novels because of how the author explains the plot. It feels like the arcs were originally their former projects and just plastered there half heartedly.

And the Matchmaking System got thrown away after the first arc. The system rarely appears in the next arcs. I think the author wanted some mystery with how Li Shu thought that it's strange how the system has a... more>> personality.

The author was definitely reading a lot of transmigration novels and wanted to ride the waves, but it completely flopped and lost it's original purpose.

Nevertheless, I really like Li Shu and the ML, but to be honest? The side characters were the highlight of this novel. In my opinion,
Spoiler

A good family for the MC and a good friend for the ML. In all transmigration novels, MLs rarely has friends introduced during an arc. It's so suprising that ML's friends we're supportive - not a speck of betrayal.

[collapse]

What I do not like?
Spoiler

Is definitely the author discarding the side characters. It all started in the second arc. The 'rival' was thrown away. The childhood friend of MC in doomsday was thrown away, we're quite memorable for me, but there were a lot of named characters that kept popping up and dissapeared.

[collapse]

It's truly unfortunate. <<less

It's quite interesting, despite low ratings. I especially liked the 1st, historic arc. ML there loves MC humbly and devotedly like a knight in shining armor.

I wondered who was the female lead, but it turned out that she was MC's half-sister.

The second arc, starting from chapter 38, is an entertainment arc, full of dog blood. I didn't like ML as much as in the first world, since he was like a typical bossy CEO. But later on he showcased his caring and romantic side, so it was good enough. What... more>> a pity, the 2nd arc ending abruptly without resolving issues with villains.

Some people complain about MC's indifference to ML. But I feel like he's cool the way he is. Moreover, there's a hidden tenderness under the icy exterior. It's a pity, Li Shu didn't make use of his special mental fox skills. If I remember correctly, 9 tailed fox demons were able to give mental commands. For example, he could hypnotize ML, who was under the influence of aphrodisiac, to make him stop. But maybe ML's mental strength was too high for this to work? Other than that, MC was pretty overpowered. He often managed to evade villain's strikes or even capture them in action. He was able to learn new skills almost immediately and shock the crowd with his brilliance, lol.

Arc 3 starts from chapter 82. It's called "The Rich Boss's White Moonlight". I looked forward to reading it! <<less

This is a novel where it all comes down to the fact that the main character, instead of a matchmaker, is developing his career and the desires of the original owner of the body. His man in front of him constantly controls his desires, needs, and so on. Lowers his head and rushes around with the main character like a vase, blowing off specks of dust from him. This could be a good dynamic if there was at least some love felt there on the part of the MC. There... more>> were some beautiful moments showing affection on the part of the MC, but it was little and tasteless. Overall, the novel is readable. But that's not the type I like. <<less

[3.5 stars]

I really enjoyed this halfway through, especially because of how Li Shu got revenge for the original body owners each time. However, once the story reached the siren arc, my interest in this novel quickly dwindled. Honestly, that arc has to be the worst arc in this novel and I'm surprised I even kept going afterwards. The ML was just so unbearably annoying and the plot was frankly.. Terrible. That arc ruined my interest in this novel because while the arcs afterwards were decent, I was no longer interested... more>> in continuing the story—I just wanted it to end lol.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about this novel, but I don't think it's completely bad. It's just something to read if you want to be entertained for a bit. <<less
