“Report, Captain! Luhua Community has been invaded by an apocalypse novel. A young man has emptied several supermarkets, bought out the grain and fruits of two villages, and some residents are showing mutations. Should we detain him?”

“Report, Captain! The Ji family, the wealthiest in the southern city, has been invaded by a melodramatic story. An unfamiliar man claims that the Ji family’s young master is a fake and that he’s the real heir. This morning, the family found both young masters sharing the same bed, and now the Ji family is in chaos—quick, grab some popcorn!”

“Report, Captain! The Fukang Community in the northern city has been invaded by a matriarchal society novel. The men there are staying at home, managing the household and raising children. Some even wear veils when going to work. Hiss!”

“Report, Captain! The Kangle Welfare Center has been invaded by a three-and-a-half-year-old literature novel. A toddler, adored by everyone, not only speaks eight languages but also has their inner thoughts heard by others?!”

“Report, Captain! The eastern city has been invaded by an infinite flow novel. A player with supernatural abilities has brought ghosts and monsters out of the game world. He claims that he’ll become the king of the real world. Huh?”

“Report, Captain…”

When novels invade the real world, one by one, self-important protagonists with their novel wills begin to disrupt reality’s order and safety. The Novel Crisis Management Bureau is a specialized agency tasked with handling such situations.

Duan Team Leader, known as the “Nemesis of Protagonists,” listens to reports pouring in from all directions. Crawling out of bed, his face—perfect for the agency’s beauty idol—remains shadowed by the dark cloud of early-morning grumpiness. Just as he’s about to set out to patch up this broken world, a new report comes in:

“Re-Report, Captain! A rebirth novel has invaded. A large group of reborn individuals is approaching you. They claim you’re the future end-of-the-world boss. Some want to win your favor (flirty looks), some want to heal and warm your heart, and others plan to annihilate you entirely!”

Duan Chunshui: “…Forget the patchwork!”

I wasn't expecting this to be such a fun read. This is the first novel I've read with this kind of unique premise and it did not fail to deliver. There are 3 volumes in total, and the first volume I believe feels like collecting side characters (although they're all protagonists in their own way :3) that may become part of the team while showing us what other people think of MC (we don't get to see his POV in the first volume yet). Anyways it's very refreshing, the MC's... more>> team has to pick up protagonists before their halos affect their surroundings and tell them they're not that special and the reactions are different every time. <<less

The story has an interesting premise but unfortunately wasn't well-developed. Plots were brief, characters were flat, MC and ML weren't exactly likeable. MC works for a sort of police-type organisation dealing with novel protagonists that appear in their world. These protagonists are the common trope like the male protagonist of a harem novel, a protagonist of an apocalypse world, ABO world, mpreg world etc. But there's barely any action or investigation. Basically MC shows up and the protagonists follow him to the department willingly or are easily subdued by MC.... more>> Some protagonists become part of the team. The author did find some unique ways to apply some protagonists' golden fingers but most of the time they're just forgotten background characters. It's really too bad. It had great potential but ultimately failed to deliver. <<less
