Legend has it that the Rong family’s male Omega can transform and even give birth to offspring with perfect genes, making them the target of various factions within the Federation.

Rong Shu, as the male Omega of the Rong family, goes by the alias Xu Shu and has become the white moonlight in the hearts of the Omegas at the Federal No. 1 Middle School South Campus, a role model in the eyes of the Alphas, and a good brother in the eyes of the Betas. He has been the most popular male Alpha on the campus rankings for three consecutive years.

Yet, in private, he has already chosen his future partner.

However, this future partner is a bit too serious.

With the merger of the North and South campuses, Shen Huaixiu, the tyrant of the North Campus, is known for his fierce appearance due to a genetic defect. He is silent, aloof, and distant, with just one look enough to make an Omega cry and one expression enough to make an Alpha’s legs go weak. He is the fiercest Alpha on the campus rankings.

Every time he pushes open the door to his dormitory, he sees his roommate wearing his T-shirt, blinking his clear black eyes, blushing, and softly saying, “My bathrobe got wet. Can I wear your T-shirt for now?”

Shen Huaixiu walks over expressionlessly, his voice cold and restrained: “Put on some pants…”

Rong Shu: Whimper~

Don’t you think my legs are nice!

(Note: The shou is an Omega pretending to be an Alpha, Xu Shu = Rong Shu.)

This story features the shou pursuing the gong.

It’s a 1v1, with both being pure, and it’s sweet and doting!

Brief Summary: There is no pure friendship between an Alpha and an Omega.

The fluff at the start is really sweet but later the authors decisions ruined it. The MC’s younger brother (in middle school) is basically being groomed. MC isn’t even in his senior year of high school but everyone is celebrating his pregnancy. The whole genetically perfect thing is never explained nor the differences between alphas and omegas besides fertility. The ML’s family are incredibly neglectful but we’re supposed to view this as tough love.

This is definitely a 3.5 stars at most. The author certainly has ideas, but they are not grounded at all.

The Setting

I gave an extra star for the authors boldness on this front. An odd mishmash of Beastman and ABO settings with zero women, I strongly suspect this is a world of 2-3 male genders. Every character seems to be a Male Alpha or Male Omega. To be blunt, this is just a modern beastman setting disguised as ABO.

Characters are only introduced or sent away based on the needs... more>> of the plot. There are no casual background characters. The passerby could be cardboard and it would have no impact on the story.

The introduction of beast features as genetic flaws added an interesting twist to the setting. Too bad the author did not capitalize on this. No one seems to care to focus on fixing this issue and are quite content to seduce the Rong Family omegas every 20 years or so. Even the Rong family is not in much of a hurry to resolve the problem that has everyone eyeing them like a piece of meat in a pack of hungry wolves.

Overall Impression

Developments are very contrived and pacing is fast due to the lack of detail in world-building. This is a pure romance novel and all plots are naturally related to romance. Yet. Who are these characters? Why do they fall in love? We find out their backstories, but not their personalities. The main plot follows their naive high school love at first sight routine and all of their family is super supporting of getting knocked up ASAP.

The Main Characters

The protagonists have very little depth. They are two kids who barely know each other and practically jump into a flash marriage. Their relationship develops extremely quickly before the readers can figure out why the two people even like each other. The MC disguising as an alpha causes no conflict in their relationship considering the MC does not hide his gender very well and freely releases his omega pheromones.

Speaking of the MC and his family.
Spoiler

Why does everyone know that an omega hiding their identity must be from the Rong family? What happened to the previous generations and their descendants that caused the family to only have two omegas from the same parents even after a major agreement was created to ensure fair competition among suitors? Something had to have gone majorly wrong to have no cousins or anything when clearly the mom could not have been the victim causing such an agreement to be necessary. Most importantly: wtf happens to the agreement when it comes to Rong Shu’s children?? RS was forced to get marked before his coming of age or lose his right to choose his marriage partner. The final extra has his family prepared to support his single omega son into old age. What changed? I think the author simply forgot their own setting.

Their alpha child should have been forced out of the house to grow up on his own based on his father’s family traditions. Yet he clearly grew up alongside his brother and childhood friend. Not to mention another extra directly changes the Shen’s from a cool mysterious dragon family into someone weaker than the suddenly introduced Chen clan of dragons.

[collapse]

The other CPs that appear in the extras are just as dissatisfying. The pairings are great in theory, but the actual writing disappoints.

Spoiler

- An inexperienced Omega Doctor who quickly falls for on older alpha male on a blind date. He is so cute and sweet... Exactly how easy is it to become a Doctor in this world? He’s in the workforce so how many estrus’ has he spent alone? His conditions are not bad in any aspect. I get not dating, but how does it seem like he is an unwanted little flower who had never had a suitor until our Boxer Gym Owner came along? This extra would be great if we got any scenes of their romance heating up instead of the time skip from their meeting to the proposal.

- I think there was another pairing, but I genuinely cannot recall any remarkable details about them despite reading this within the last hour.

- AA double dragon clan lovers. This pairing makes up for the missed drama of “can I love him regardless of gender” that usually accompanies Gender-Bender plots like hiding your true gender. These are two actual alphas, but marking might change the marked person’s gender to a ‘pseudo-omega’. It was right of the author to not let the pursued characters just gloss over this kind of health impacting decision. It does seem like this Alpha is not bothered by becoming lovers with an Alpha, but is truly struggling with whether love is worth giving up his Alpha identity. His lover seems willing to become the pseudo-omega instead, but I suspect that only the high level dragon can mark the lower level dragon.

Conclusion

At best the author is overly idealistic and at worst just not a great storyteller. They ARE creative and do write a complete book without as much nonsense as many amateur writers. They simply need more experience! I think the author has potential. This story is a good read for something simple and sweet. Not every story needs to be complicated. My complaints mostly focus on some continuity errors. The author did well in making me desire to learn more about these characters. A little too well at making me ask questions yet not providing any answers. <<less

Two words: brainless fluff.

Story actually started out really good. I like an assertive omega, and the ML is a green flag (which, as far as my reading list has been, gave me quite a shock). That said there’s really not much to the plot?

Someone else said characters are sent away based on what the plot needs, and I agree. Basically everything is plot device. Also I’m all for babies, but I really thought ML would hold up better.

I do quite like that there are clear consequences for the “villains” tho.... more>> Read: jail. That’s a plus.

Also I’m not quite sure about the g*ooming situation of the little brother. I assumed the fox was the same age or even younger? When I was reading it felt like childhood friends at most.

I’m more disturbed about the ML’s eldest brother’s relationship. His partner is really not it. Any other setting that would be ab*se-angst galore. I know the signs.

Anyway the random extras were cute, but I wish they would have just committed to it. Basically every available character had paired up but you leave Xiao Tao alone?

Just read this if you want fluff that won’t take much brain cells to process. Since I came from a really angsty, dark place this felt refreshing, but any other time I’d be like nah. Approach without much expectations and you’ll be fine. <<less

this is a sweet and fluffy novel with minimal drama. The MC and ML are super sweet together. I'm glad that we got to see the side characters relationships in the extras and the 2 babies are just adorable like their parents. Fun easy read.
