Tbh, I’ve really forced myself to give a chance to this “romance”, because it’s forced as f*ck. No chemistry and no natural progression, in the end it just makes me feel like ... more>>

BXX decided it was a worse move to divorce than remain married and fake until he made it (if he ever got to the point of making it)

It’s okay if you don’t particularly care about a romantic relationship that could actually happen among real, breathing people... But the whole story bends over itself to make an ending that would never happen according to the settings of their own characters.

Well, at least I got to revel on Shi Ning’s, Wan Tong’s and the Xiang brothers’ characters, they are very well written, and

Now, if only this could have been written better in terms of romance, because the concept of A-to-O transitions is simply great (I for one welcome our trans dynamics overlords) but it was ridiculously sub utilized. Damn it. <<less

I never wrote a review after I read this story the first time. So I came back to reread. It’s a short and sweet story imo.

I recommend this for those looking to read something short.

The overall premise and world building of the story was quite interesting. The author could have done a bit more with the A to O transition but I suppose the idea is that MC has already lived that life once so he’s mostly come to terms with it. The business and revenge was well done.

The romance... more>> isn’t a slow burn for sure. I think the idea is that ML’s admiration and respect of MC (perhaps even unconscious like from their childhood days) turned into love first with all that MC was doing that bettered their lives and the company. MC’s love seems a bit more abrupt but we have to remember he lived a lifetime before so there’s obviously some struggle there.

The side characters are cute. I would have loved a side story about the two younger kids. <<less

I enjoyed this story.

It's a bit interesting since it completely skips over the emotional struggle of the A to O transition since it's the MC's 2nd time around. So because we don't have that emotional negotiation with his changing role, it's a real second chance. He makes choices that avoid health issues that he struggled with in his first life, he gives himself opportunities that his pride wouldn't allow when he first had that transition, etc.

So it's a bit less drama than you'd expect and I think he finally really... more>> finds closure from his birth family's betrayal in the end. <<less

Cute, story so far. Very fast paced. I can see the changes between two people that respect each other but have strong clashing personalities to gaining an understanding and admiration for each other.

The story is quite interesting, it wasn't bad enough for me to drop it. Can't say the same for the translation though, names/titles of characters, places and institutions are frequently changed.

It doesn't help that the format of the text is just one long paragraph in the earlier chapters. It would've been better if there were separations when characters spoke to each other, at least even if some nouns suddenly changed its easier to infer which place or who they're referring to in the sentence.

After reading this I have come to... more>> realize and appreciate good formatting in the previous novels I've read before. It is really essential especially if the translation quality is like this 😅. Reading one long block of text is quite challenging.

Other than the translation I don't have much to say for the story itself. It's a short novel so you can expect that the pacing is quite fast and there some points that were just glossed over. The romance started slow and picked up very quickly. And there's the usual revenge plot and face slapping by MC to his pos relatives. Overall it's a 3.5 for me which I rounded off to 4 stars. <<less

This story ended rather abruptly. I liked the other book by this author slightly better. This one has very similar tropes - genius MC (this time, in business, not mech building/math), a genius chemist, the socially inept partner, abusive family. Perhaps because I read this right after the other novel by this author, I was not as impressed by this story. I felt that the philosophy that capitalism will solve the health care problem is laughable. I felt the glamorizing of making money and having the power to force another... more>> company out of business was slightly disturbing. I would not trust a profiteering 'turn-around-ceo' further than I can throw them. I've had pretty bad experiences in companies where the leadership changes to enable "efficencies" or push for profit.

All that said, I understand this is a story, set in an idealized world, narrating the events of a protagonist who will unwittingly do what is best for others in his pursuit of revenge and profit. So we ignore what a realistic scenario would have been for loyal employees of a wholesome firm that has been converted to money making machine. And we ignore the likelihood of burnout for employees that devote days and evenings and weekends to their work. And we assume everything will work out and everyone will be happy with all the money they now have to pay for their own medical expenses, ignoring the fact that people are horrible at saving and only the absolute wealthiest individuals will be ok when faced with a really expensive medical procedure.

The relationship also always felt a bit in equal in terms of who had all the decision making power. I know the fact that the typically weaker "omega" holds all the power in the relationship should feel empowering, but it just made me feel like the ML was a bit pitiful. Getting so happy even receiving scraps of affection...

That said, the author ended before it got too boring. The side characters were cute. And the face slapping was thorough. <<less

Aww man. One of the most rushed ending that I don't feel like it's an ending at all. It's literally discontinued one becuz the author have irl issue so it's can't be helped.

Love the plots. There's some funny moments especially whenever ML's military team involved. I like that we don't get to see how MC in despair after changing from A to O cuz that's would be angst. Based on his personality, it's must be hard to accept the new gender. It's abit sad not able to see ML thought... more>> about MC in first timeline. Also, their settings about ABO in Alpha is totally new to me which kinda refreshing ig?
