After the Fairy Maidens Fell to Darkness, They Captured Me to Ruthlessly “Repay” Their Gratitude

Description

As a villainous demonic cultivator, isn’t it perfectly normal to take a fox demoness as a spiritual pet?

As a villainous junior brother, isn’t it reasonable to make the cold and stunning senior sister reveal a shy side?

As a villainous disciple, isn’t it my duty to melt the icy heart of my villainous master and save her from the abyss of corruption?

I was wrong.

After they fell to darkness, they captured me and ruthlessly “repaid” their gratitude.

Edit: I don't know how, but the new translators turned a dogwater novel into something really nice. They made the translations good, the smut was cut, and overall its become good. Kudos to them!

As for the novel itself, its a pretty classic Cultivator one, with the bonus of yandere heroines. I'm glad the smut was dropped, really centers the story. As it is right now, from what I can tell, I fully recomend it. Looks like all uphill from here.

I left the original review below if you want to read... more>> it, just keep in mind that it doesn't reflect what the novel is like now.

Spoiler

If you value your time, read something else. This is just painful to read. 1 star

Reading this is like chewing concrete; everything here is broken, and needs some serious work done. Lets start with the site itself deciding to cut off words. For some reason, if a sentence goes onto the next line, the site cuts it off at the letter instead of the word resulting in words being split in two.

Of course even if this wasn't the case you still couldn't read this thing as every single sentence has grammatical errors. Even worse I can't tell which errors are due to the translation of the novel or the writing of the novel itself! I guess sh!t in any other language is still sh!t.

And then there is the story itself. Something halfway between smut and a cultivation story that ultimately fails at both. It's like it decided to try and have the best of both, but didn't put in the effort to try. In fact at some points this is straight up a summary of events that happened. Real telling us but not showing us.

Leaning more towards a 4/5 as of current, this novel doesn't deserve a rating as low as 3.6. The translation is also very good ty Hireath & Shieru

The usual cultivation world filled with the usual haughty young masters and elders to face slap—the novel still finds its ways to be refreshing. The MC plays a constant balancing game with his inward demonic identity opposed with a cheeky junior disciple face he uses on those around him. While I don't exactly appreciate hiding powers tropes, its done reasonably well here... more>> as there's a significant backstory and a reader can only wait to see how his eventual unveiling will affect the story.

As for the heroines, they're introduced almost all at once—giving it a bit of whiplash but not bad enough to affect the story. They're competent and reasonably tied in with the MC, however as per the description, also slowly being corrupted as the MC performs his show with words and subtle manipulation. As the story progresses, so does their possessiveness—making it captivating to try and imagine just how far it will grow once they actually "fall to darkness."

However as mentioned before, it's a usual Xuanhuan and all the tropes that come along with it. You'll find young masters, senior disciples, and elders all across the land underestimating the MC and giving him trouble—all for the eventual face slapping you know is coming. I can only hope the underlying plot and characters will differentiate this novel from so many others as it progresses, although its done an acceptable job at that so far.

Basically its a pretty good read if you like the genre. <<less
