This is not a strong female lead story. The female lead was a flower demon in her past life and can only cultivate a few minor spells in this life, mostly insignificant. The original story’s male and female leads are dark characters, and even a groveling pursuit cannot win back the love interest. The setting is roughly in the early 2000s, with some creative liberties. The male and female leads have a seven-year age difference.
