System: Maintain your tyrant persona + accumulate Hatred Points from the protagonist tops + be killed by the joint efforts of the protagonist tops to complete the task. Failure will trigger a random plot punishment.

Nero: Oh.

To complete the task as soon as possible, Nero brings his targets back to the capital in advance.

For instance, he finds Big Boss A in a dangerous exile, pardons his crimes, and pushes him step by step to a commanding position, yet demands his Omega sister as a trade for status, deeply humiliating Big Boss A.

He rescues Big Boss B from the prison cage of star pirates and forces him to wear the empire’s most elite heavy armor to fight the hardest battles, never showing him a kind face in the imperial court.

He takes away Big Boss C when everyone scorns him, but sends him to the front lines with ample scientific resources, denying him the luxury of being the empire’s prime minister.

As for Big Boss D, who grew up with Nero, he initially doesn’t know how to provoke his hatred.

Until he discovers that every time the Holy Son, the protagonist bottom, blesses him with a kiss, the Hatred Points of the big bosses soar.

So he immediately hooks the Holy Son’s neck, deciding to get more kisses from the protagonist bottom.

This is my heavily biased opinion and if want to avoid a major spoiler, skip this comment. I wished someone had spoiled it for me.

A solid 3.0. There were some things I liked and other things I disliked. I love how the author wrote the battle scenes. Those were awesome. I was on the edge of my seat for those. The transition between chapter's is perfect, the author's writing is so fluid, fun and engaging - chef's kiss -. I really did like the parts that I've read, however, I... more>> couldn't finish it. I am not a big fan of harem novels, I practically despised them, however if a novel had to be a harem novel, it is this novel. The chosen Alpha out of all the exceptional Alpha's gave me a pause. I could not read after that (major spoiler below) :

I did not like how this is pseudo in*est. Like Author, why did you make Nero's brother's body double become his chosen Apha-consort! Like this is borderline g*ooming, I couldn't stomach it. Wdym, that the male lead watched the Emperor grow from a toddler to an adult, whom is still kind of young when they've became official! Mind you, the ML had to pretend to be his brother, while the real brother was off doing whatever. Around Chapter 100, the author did a shoddy job in trying to set up this pairing. I felt it was too forced and its a major ick for me. I am definitely the only person with this thought. The other three male leads were perfect choices.

I initially thought this was gonna be another shallow fluffy abo, BUT it's surprisingly not. It has intricate plots, characters' depths. It hooked me in, and I read it in just two days.

Even though the story was tagged 1v1, the MC's affection is not clear on whom. That's so tiring to read, sometimes he shows one of Mls affection, other times he not. I feel like the romance part is not a main focused thing in his mind, kinda whatever. He is an emperor, siring heir is a only way to go. All 4 MLs cannot make him fall in love. He chooses the most possible one from them.

It is also frk misleading from the start. The white wolf apparently has so much romantic senses with him, intimately and smuttly:). There is even a tag childhood friend >= (. I kinda felt pity for him tho.

And the ultimate ML was Yestin-somehow has haft Nero's brother DNA. Technically he is his half brother. *Palm-faced* It iches me when they got intimate and MC keeps calling ML bother. "Insinuated in*est." The children somehow survived that in*est.:))

bawling my eyes out as it left me with a void that aches for something similar to their (ml) love and devotion to happen upon me. The world-building is immaculate and easily digestible for those who are newly introduced to scifi/mecha stuff. ALL the characters (especially the subcharacters) have so much depth in them that the story feels so lifelike. The interactions are so natural, even the antagonist felt so humane despite it being so. I will honestly, true to god, will not be sure if I can re-read it in the future, not because of any negative comments, but because I'm sure I would always remember this story by heart. But then again, who knows? Maybe Nero and his blinding perseverance for humanity can make me read his story again despite knowing all the challenges he will face. <<less

This deserves a solid 10/10 rating. It's the first time I've come across such a unique plot and storyline. Chapter 1 initially left me confused, but once I understood what was happening, I was thoroughly impressed. Unlike other reincarnation stories where the main characters typically come from another world, this one stands out. I don't really wanna spoil anything so, I'll just say that Nero, the main character, is incredibly likable plus quite op, and despite being a villain he has strong leadership skills, empathy, and a solid moral compass,... more>> I really like how smart he handles different kinds of obstacle he came across.

The other characters in the novel are also interesting and likable. They treat Nero with respect and hold him in high regard. I appreciate how the naughty scenes feel natural and comfortable to read, with characters respecting Nero's boundaries and him often taking the initiative, albeit naively.

Although I haven't finished the novel yet since it's ongoing, it's definitely a must-read. The translator also has done an excellent job, making the novel easy to read and understand. Thank you sm for translating and sharing this gem with us tr! 💓 <<less

Absolutely one of the best reads this year. 100/10 I love how all the characters got their own backstory explained and especially the ML that MC ended up with. And even though it's kinda long it doesn't feel dragging at all, the pace is consistent and the scenes are well structured so it doesn't go round and round.

This isn't a harem novel tho and I like that MC didn't even try to be with each ML one by one before settling down. He only really consider to be with one... more>> person at the end and doesn't play.

Also Nero is SO BADASS GO KING!!! He stays true to his character of prioritizing the empire over himself and doesn't go all romance-y. <<less

Romance is slow and the start is mainly to make the empire strong, etc.

The romance is designed as a harem. Yes, it's designed like a harem not clear what will happen in the end.

The deeper you read the story the more it's become interesting. Normal I didn't read novel for too long but this one is different.

This novel got me back into reading BL. It's really well written and the characterization is well done. I will say that the end game ML was a surprise but it makes sense when you think about how Nero is and what he needs. If you are reading this for the romance I don't think you'll like this novel. It's mainly kingdom building/battles and the majority of the romance is pushed until the last 20ish chapters.

a story about dedication, about ideals broken and reforged, & about learning to love yourself in the end, after tragedy and heartbreak and change.

Here is a Pentagon of worship from the MLs, though our MC only learns reciprocal love to others and to himself at the end of all things. This does turn out to have a very sweet ending (1v1), knowing all that has trespassed, yet many potential choices can be questioned. The first part of the list really kept me enthralled. I spent more than few nights staying up way past when I should just to read a bit more. I did not enjoy the second part as much, though that was were the bulk of the romance was. It definitely got more engaging again near the later half of part 2.

  1. This novel is a masterpiece - perfect plot, thrilling action, heartbreaking loss and death in battle that doesn't get brushed off.
  2. Nero is not a tyrant. He is young but extremely determined, sworn to be the perfect Emperor even at the cost of his life.
  3. Some parts made me cry and some made me laugh. The novel is not overly heavy but it doesn't forget about the sad parts.
  4. Romance could be better, although ML is truly the perfect one for Nero. It's very very sweet so don't trust any scums.
  5. Also try this authors other novels! Trust

🤤 Very good. Love the jealousy and fighting scenes.

MC is beautiful and admired, the king of all. MLs are fighting for his attention and working hard to protect him. Good yandere scenes. Very happy with this novel.

MC isn't annoying. Male leads are not overbearing where it's frustrating. They are often concerned about his well-being. MC is so cute. Not explicit scenes sadly. This story would be too powerful if it was.

i had to take a break from crying and write a review.

i thought this would be a typical return to throne revenge story but it isnt. Nero's journey to build and protect his empire is really nice to read. The way he's mourning for his family is also incredibly well-written. The characters are complex and theres no overbearing gong that would dominate his shou.

the mysteries would really keep you hooked and the plot twists were just *chefs kiss*

a highly recommended read

It's good (at the very least, if not a 5 then a 4.5).

I have seen some of the other review that dig into some maybe plotholes?? But the translation is good, the story is good, the pacing is good, the characters are good.

I always go into stories not thinking too much, I don't turn my brain off but there is no need to get too caught up into stories. Everything makes sense, the action is good. The romance definitely could have used more work, and I can see why the... more>> ML was chosen even though I personally wasn't rooting for him.

I am a firm Nero x Holy Son believer!! Even though Holy Son isn't an ML I hoped for Eldritch babies, and it would still be believable according to the plot since it was mentioned that those that plot deviate always become miserable.

I also have a quick no spoiler overview: 1st volume/part (1-189?) MC collects MLs, fights zerg/invaders. 2nd volume/part (rest of it) MC becomes Omega, MLs infighting (funny). Anymore would be spoilers I'd say.

The ending felt a liitttle bit rushed since some minor points never came to pass or were addressed properly, but then again most novels are and it doesn't leave you feeling like it's too rushed. I liked all the characters good and bad, although some weren't the most one-dimensional there wasn't anything immersion breaking.

My favourite thing about the novel is definitely the action, read it for the action not the romance. My other favourite thing was the Zerg/Invaders, there were definitely some similarities to typical zerg in other literary works, but the uniqueness of these ones definitely impressed and surprised me. I really appreciated it.

Another great thing is that slow moments were never too slow and I never felt overwhelmed with the plot or that it was dragging, I also never needed a break in between chapters or felt the need to skip chapters, everything was really good.

I would recommend this, even if it's not really your thing just try it. If you really like action, it has very good military and war scenes in Part/volume 1, if you like interstellar there are definitely astronomy jargon in it (you don't need deep knowledge, it's just to reasonable explain certain things). If you like comedy, the MLs are a comedic act on their own, if you like strong omega trope the emperor doesn't suddenly turn into a weak simpering lust filled omega or anything, he still keeps his strength which I really liked. Even if none of these apply to you, it's still a solid read.

(P.s. The system while definitely relevant to the story, does not make MC op or give much of an advantage compared to without, also system is our dum dum.)

Oh man this was tough to get through. I almost dropped it around chapter 120 - the writing was very poor, we kept being told MC does all these [unrealistic] incredible things without ever being told HOW he actually manages to accomplish them. Deus ex machina after deus ex machina suddenly appears to solve whatever crisis is currently happening. Plus the author goes ON AND ON about how beautiful MC is... okay, he's pretty, we get it. The novel probably could've been 30% shorter if we cut out all the... more>> flowery depictions of MC.

That being said, it did get a little better and more interesting in volume 2. So I bumped it up to 2 stars. <<less

Just finished chapter 177. It's not completely translated yet but I will definitely be following this one. This interstellar world is super vivid and the characters as well as their background stories are well written. I can't tell yet who our MC will end up with and I have read spoilers but I still don't fully see how he's the final ML. At this point, I'm not even sure if there are 4 or 5 MLs.

According to spoilers, Yestin is the final ML who Nero ends up with but up to where I read, Yestin has been behaving like a very indulgent older brother. But out of all the MLs, the way they treat each other is the most "equal" I guess?

But the spiciest scenes, which are the only real spicy scenes imo, are between Nero and his White Wolf. We have hand* actions and an almost mouth* action iykwim. Let's just say White Wolf drinking vinegar is bringing a whole fantasy in itself. If Nero doesn't end up with him, I 100% vote for side stories between him and White Wolf only.

The romance part with all of the MLs is extremely slow burn (for good reasons) but god damn the battle/war scenes are exhilarating. I feel as if I was watching an intergalactic battle irl with surprises after surprises.

There is an arc where Nero's relative has launched a full rebellion and was working with Star Pirates. I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole damn time. And just when it seemed like the Imperial side were winning and the war was almost done, the freaking bad guys had a final card up their sleeve... I love spoilers but I have to agree that this scene you really need to find out yourself.

Chapter 234 was the light at the end of a dark and dreary tunnel. Chapter 235 was my favourite and the rest of the ending chapters really made up for all the turmoil in the first 233 chapters. The fox and the little white lion are the best together! So happy for both of them!

Yestin was the best choice to begin with, he’s always cared for Nero and he asks for permission before doing anything. He’s the best!

They’re so sweet together and it’s making me feel so soothed after the tons of torment I had to read prior to this. Still, liking the ending of only 11 chapters doesn’t make up for the 233 I didn’t like. Which is why my rating is so low.

Omegaverse/Guideverse feel.♡ฅ (ᐤˊ꒳ฅˋᐤ) my fav genre

The emotions I felt while reading is so interesting that I feel like I go crazy because of what the 5 (yes, FIVE) Male lead's are doing just to impress my dear emperor. Lol.

that was a long ride. I sometimes find myself laughing but in the next moment, I feel melancholy. All six of them might have different pasts but all of them felt the same sadness. I really want to hug them all😭 but I still find the Mls annoying. '◡' I read it for the romance but the action hooked me so badddd ❤️

Warning: the romance start at chapter 220 or so. But don't worry, the wait is totally worth it. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) و

It was one of the best omega verse I have ever read! Bad reviews here seems to have came from overly sensitive or critical reader~ The ending couple was really sweet and green flag except for their "little special" fetish.

... more>> If you are looking for strong omega story, it is the one. Even after turning into omega, his personality didn't suddenly became feminine and weak. He had clear goal and principles. Worthy ruler, not a tyrant at all

However, I do have to say main romance comes into play only after ch200, before that there is readings and lots of politics and war. But, I personally liked that and really immersed myself into this novel's world. <<less

Despite reading a plenty of good novels, it was first time to me read a novel as high qualified as this. Current BL novels have weak Shous and strong Gongs. Even MC is smart or powerful, the author tries to empathize Gong is still better than MC. However, the author of this novel didn't try to downplay MC's strength. Also they didn't try to bury trauma due to MC's tragic past. At the end, MC healing from trauma is splendidly written.

Also, the author includes quotes from the other well-known books or principles. You will read how our bewitching and smart MC constantly fights with his 'Fate' and builds his marvelous Empire.

I read this at first because the cover lol. This is a great novel if you like career driven MC. The ML is a bit unexpected yet you will understand why
