In the era of interstellar wars, each melee mecha fighter would be paired with a long-range sniper mecha fighter to protect each other in battle.

The sniper mecha master Yan Xueshan (beta) and melee mecha master Arthur (alpha) were such a pair, the two have been partners for six years, eating and living together to develop tacit understanding.

The upcoming showdown was a deadly one.

The day before the final battle.

Yan Xueshan: “Remember to write a farewell letter in advance.”

Arthur said dejectedly: “I have only one regret. If I die this time, I will be a virg*n until I die.”

Yan Xueshan gave a cold hum: “…not interested.”

Arthur pitifully asked, “Master, can you grant me this wish before I die??”

How absurd.

But when Yan Xueshan thought about it, this was his own life and death comrade-in-arms, c*astity counts as p – okay he will agree! !

However, neither of them died in the final battle.

Not only did they become war heroes but Arthur also transformed into the Prince of the Federation.

I want to highlight some points to show why this is such a gem everyone should try out, even if they hate ABO.

There’s no discrimination, Omega, Beta and Alpha are equals.

Everyone can date and marry whoever they want regardless of gender, Omega/Alpha aren’t the default setting and everything else is looked down on, all combinations are welcome and common.

... more>> No “perfect match because pheromones”, they are just treated like hormones, nothing else.

People are actually responsible, they take their suppressants and that’s it.

Love rivals are people, not plot-puppets. They back off as soon as they see that there’s no chance for them – they even give their blessing when MC settles on ML.

No r*pe, ab*se, or dub-con, people have s*x because they want to, no one/nothing forces them.

ML is a loving, caring person, he doesn’t pressure MC, he consciously removes the part of their prenuptial agreement that states MC has to sleep with him because he wants MC to do it willingly, despite MC being fine with it being a responsibility.

ML doesn’t force MC to change, he loves him the way he is, fully aware that MC might never be able to love him back due to mental problems.

All characters have their unique characteristics, side-characters are likeable, so far there aren’t any villains and the few bad guys aren’t idiots – they actually give up when it’s clear that they will lose.

MC isn’t the smol uwu kind of MC but a headstrong, powerful soldier, he’s disciplined, rigid, and emotionally flat, he doesn’t care what others think about him, doesn’t like politics and scheming, so there’s no face-slapping and conspiracies.

He isn’t even able to scheme because he simply doesn’t understand how it works, he’s a direct person who says and does what he thinks is right instead of going behind someone’s back.

ML seems like the s*upid kind of puppy but is in fact a highly talented, very intelligent soldier, he uses his wits to guide MC in their relationship, be it emotional or physical, without forcing or pressuring him. He just understands what’s wrong with MC and tries to slowly improve his condition by introducing aspects into MC’s life that he never experienced before.

Their relationship is healthy and very cute, even if somewhat unbalanced because ML puts his all into it, pampering the MC in every possible way, while MC treats it like an agreement for a good potion of the story.

But it works, they are always on the same page, not deceiving or using each other.

This book isn’t like 99% of ABO stories, it’s obviously not a projection of the female writer’s insecurities, grievances and fears pushed unto male characters, but a real novel with proper characterisation, worldbuilding, and actual story. <<less

Everyone is strong, be it an Alpha, Beta or Omega.. The best part is that pheromones don't do shits like in other omegaverse stories..

Both of the protagonists are cool characters.. There's no unnecessary drama.. People are quite straight forward..

But the only thing that makes it somewhat bland sometimes is that ML is not upto switch in bed.. Whenever MC asks him to be a shou, ML just brushes it off taking advantage of MC's lack of knowledge and urge in these bedroom activities.. Why being so adamant on not taking... more>> the receiving role ???

Anyway, except that, ML is super sweet.. He's not your typical cold and black-bellied gong.. He's totally opposite of that.. There should be omegaverses like this one more, without portraying r*pe as love, without alphas hailing as gods, where everyone can show their own prowess.. <<less

While the story in itself wasn't necessarily bad it did not capture me either. There was no real drama and the action scenes also felt a bit bland as they were partially passed over/omitted so there was no real tension or suspense. Considering how the genre is supposed to include comedy, I am again faced with the reality that my humor seems to be broken as I was surprised upon seeing the comedy tag after finishing the novel since I did not laugh or even smile while reading the... more>> novel.

Maybe it's because I lacked a sense of immersion. It wasn't the main characters' fault. I was okay with the MC and ML. They seem unique enough to be memorable with one being an emotionally stunted cold beauty and the other a younger, golden retriever sunny boy. The side characters were in turn less memorable as some did not even get their own names.

I guess the writing style is what interfered with my reading experience the most. The author likes to pass over events and details, skipping the process and often just wrote the outcome. And the reader is left wondering how, when and why things are suddenly the way it is.

Like how the MC is suddenly an admiral at his wedding and has returned to active duty. No mention of when, how and why he changed his mind at all.

Another thing that bothered me might be a translation issue. The ML was sometimes a general and at other times an admiral. Those are two different ranks and not interchangeable.

But, I must say... I agree to all of them that the story is lovely. It is not long and not too short. I just had one regret. The author made the genre ABO. She also mentioned that due to scientific advancement anyone or any relationship can have babies. Male Beta to male beta. Male alpha to male beta or omega to male beta or whatever partnerships they could have. BUT!!! THE MAIN COUPLE DID NOT GET EVEN A SINGLE EFFIN BABY!!!! Just why?... more>> Why would you introduce those points anyway if you aint able to show to the main or not even the side couple... like the sergeants male omega and female alpha colleagues they have. What happened to the relationship of the Alpha X Alpha colleagues they had after they learned the making love can make you have higher level coherent something something with the mechas? There was no closure to that relationship : (why bother introducing it if not gonna be concluded : (minus points for that : (

But. The novel is also so good I finished it so fast. : (it's so conflicting.

So much better than expected.

MC is an emotionally stunted person since an accident in his childhood. He is not able to love or having other feelings. This makes him a perfect soldier, a perfect sniper, since he will stay cool in all situations.

ML is a hot blooded young man who fell in love at first sight. He bid his time on MCs side for 6 years and chased him after the war ended.

The story started when the war was already over. It basically is about their coming together, ... more>> their loving together and the struggle MC has with his new life.

I did like how MC is sticking to his decisions but also able to sometimes bend a bit. His strait forward personality was good for some laughs. But it was also interesting how he still was somewhat perceptive and able to coax his partner.

I know that there are some errors in the logic of being not able to feel and how MCs personality is set up, but it did not cut into my enjoyment.

I did like this story more than I thought and the translation is great. So I would recommend to read it. <<less

I agree with Xiu_er’s comment. There’s something about this novel that couldn’t connect you. MC’s emotional disability’s logic is inconsistent, it feels like it comes and go whenever the author feel convenient. Other characters’ personalities are also inconsistent, such as:

ML is supposed to be a great tactician and also a puppy for MC, but a lot of time I found his love forceful in disguise of acting cute and puppy.

ML and his father suppose to have very strained relationship, but dialogues felt more like bickering normal relationship. His father is also suppose to be super busy to care about family, but he spent an hour getting ready and say long sentences to ML (when I expect it to be more short and curt).

REALLY INTERESTING LIKE LITERALLY

  • i enjoyed it a lot the MC is very badass and very talented in his field he is a sniper and survived so many battles and ML takes admiration for him and votes to become his prtner for battle and the MC basically teaches him how to drive his mecha and fight in OP way so the MC becomes master for ML
  • MC is more of a black cat and ML is a golden retriver they suit each other well
  • the love is so pure I enjoyed it a lot and I love how the MC life is not so smooth but he managed to break through it anyways anywyas I LOVE THIS MC SO MUCH AHHH
  • the ML is so patient with the MC too cos apparently he got injured then lost his emotions due to battle etc etc but the MC is indeed very kind and cute LIKE UWAHH SO CUTE I WANT TO PUTTT U IN MY POCKET FOREVERRR
  • also I mtled most of the novel its ez to understand
  • I WISH THE NOVEL WAS LONGERR LIKE REALLY ITS SO GOOD AHHH em so sad it finished alreadyyy ill def reread this again during my freetime

Sweet, short and fluffy. This novel is a breath of fresh air and I'm glad that the author didn't drag it out longer than it had to be.

The MC is unintentionally funny and I loved his commentary of when him and the ML got intimate.

I also liked how despite the fact that the ML was a Major, a really typical setting in futuristic novels, he wasn't the typical cold and domineering gong. He was actually the opposite- always respecting the MC's decisions and wishes and getting easily flustered.

What I loved... more>> the most was the atypical ABO setting. I'm tired of reading about the same old AlphaxOmega pairing (which can also be good if done right), so I loved the fact that this was an AlphaxBeta pair.

However, I could be nitpicking, but some points were a bit confusing.

When the ML visits the MC on his farm for the first time, he says his baby could be inside the MC right now. Of course this doesn't happen. But does that mean that the MC and ML can have children? But later on in the book, the ML says he and the MC will not be able to have children together?

I also saw no reason why the MC and the ML had such a public wedding which I feel does not fit the MC's character. The whole galaxy could watch it.

Got hooked after reading only 2 chapter and ended up reading the raws. And fortunately, the raw is easy to understand. There aren't many chapters as well.

Really like the story.

There is no dog-blood drama, or even dramas. The conflict is only about MC's not having emphaty, which is also realized by MC too.

Will come back and reread it after it's completely translated.

It's so beautiful. I don't know why it took me so long to write this.

There's no brain dead plot of a beta turning into an omega, or the excuse of a heat of rut for one to r*pe or coerce their partner. This is just a cute book of an asexual, autistic cutie in the future falling in love with his sunny, cute, easily blushing alpha. I really hope there's a future of science like this. It's lovely.

Some people might complain that they don't get closure on other stories, or... more>> other people, but I think that's how life is. You never truly know what happens with others, and that adds to the beauty of a relationship, where you have to keep discovering parts of each other.

Ah Xue, Xiao Arthur, live long and love even longer ❤️ <<less

This is a really lovely, warm story. The description always made this one seem kinda sleezy/creepy, so I always skipped over reading it. For anyone feeling like me, this isn't a sleezy story, it's actually very sweet.

The MC survives a terrible war, and is trying to move on to the next phase of his life. He's not neurotypicial, and he doesn't understand human relationships, but he winds up working to figure it al out.

So glad that Authur (ML) managed to persist throughout the years. Our MC Yan Xueshan is kind of emotionally stunted due to an accident when he was younger and since then, he has been unable to feel much emotions, not to mention loving someone. But I guess Authur's persistence and sincerity did move his heart a little :")

Love how this novel mainly talks about the present, which is directly after the war has ended. A peaceful time that allows them to be themselves, relax, and pursue what they really... more>> want in life. Overall, it was a warm and sweet novel with little angst. Though I did feel so sorry for Authur because of how 'dense' and 'oblivious' Yan Xueshan is... like he really tried his best 🥹 but alls well in the end :> <<less

I absolutely am in love with this story!! MC has a brain defect from an accident in his childhood that makes him unable to recognize or perceive emotions, which oftentimes comes off to others as heartless and cold, but ML is able to see past this exterior and fall in love regardless. There were times when MC said some pretty ballsy sh*t and I though ML was going to take a KO to the heart but instead he was just amused and as in love as ever hahah

Though the romance... more>> aspect is dulled because of MC’s emotional incapability, the two of them were absolutely soulmates and I really loved how well their personalities synced. I laughed so many times, and cried for the MC when he couldn’t.

It was also very sweet near the end when MC was starting to smile a little more with ML, like his emotions were slowly coming back. His thoughts when they finally got married were very sweet, and the way that ML truly loves all of him really gets me :’)

OMG VERY WORTH THE READ!! AND THE TITLE IS ON POINT!! Ml's journey on pursuing his long love MC, please give MC a chance, there's a reason why he's somehow not good with emotions. MC have his own strong points and that charmed our ML ahahah ML's too! Salute for his efforts!! It will take many wooing/tricks (though MC knows there's something with ML actions ahhahaha) in showing his love to MC. Was a good novel with it's short chapters and some flashbacks (relevant/ not some filler) about their... more>> past. Sometimes mc's story will touch your heartstrings and this makes ML to fall deeply all over again. MC's such a cute cold and yet gentle person. Their lines to each other is so touching. Okay, but why is this so cute? There’s no other word for it rather than pure and sweet, it’s all just sweetness everywhere (and it got me a toothache).

The MC is also such an incredibly written character, and his biggest charm is just how kind and gentle he is underneath his (lack of) emotions (more like he can’t properly understand them and is very closed off, and that’s quite a nice setting to have).

The ML is also quite interesting, and a veritable Wolfdog lol. It’s so f*cking funny how he... more>> even “sabotages” himself because of being so foolishly in love he can’t see MC is reciprocating in his own ununderstanble ways, but it’s all in good fun because, they communicate??

Like, this novel has one of the healthiest levels of communication I’ve ever seen, even if Arthur jumps the gun sometimes and there’s some misunderstandings Yan Xueshan always tries his best to communicate, and Arthur doesn’t try and skip it either. That, combined with the absolute (there’s no better word to describe it rather than “peace”) of their relationship, makes for quite a healing experience.

10/10 would recommend. <<less

It was a nice short read, and I really enjoyed the Alpha Beta troupe. No unnecessary drama or conflict. It healed my soul because it reminded me of how kind and patient love could truly be.

MOTHER OF GOD! This is a beautiful story.

As a big fan of ABO my expectations were exceeded and made me love Yan Yan, how he is duped by the alpha's lies, make you laugh.

Give it a chance, it's a story that shows how love can blossom slowly and quietly, that there will always be someone who sees past the flaws or physicality.

Without a doubt, I love every word that makes up this story.

I give this a 3 1/2 out of five stars. It starts slow, but it does get better in the late teens when we begin understanding the ML and the MC better. I did get a bit frustrated because it felt like it wasn’t getting anywhere, but I decided to keep reading it, and I’m glad I did because it was so sweet, cute, and just light and fluffy. It was really good. I enjoyed it. It made me happy. It made me laugh and made me a little teary-eyed,... more>> and it had a good ending, too. <<less

Although for me its not really a perfect 5, I also don't think its exactly a 4 so its 4.5 for me.

The story does not focus on the war, as already observed from the description, its about MC's retiring from the military. Although it does contain some hints of it.

I won't say its typical, because its backstory is extraodinary. I wished the author contain more of the militia plotline, as even the farming plotline feels a little lacking to me? I don't know, I did not carry high expectations for... more>> this novel, as its only a short one that I could read on the way back home.

MC feels lacking to me, but I like ML and his devotion to MC.

Overall, I hope some people are not dissuade by me but instead try it for themselves, everyone has their own taste and to be completey honest, it has been some time after I have finished this novel so maybe my review isn't that accurate.
