Shen Jin is reserved and beautiful, and is the cool school sweetheart.

One day, he remembered that he is the heart-throb cannon fodder in a novel, and would soon be kept in a dark room by pe*verts.

In a hurry, he decided to find himself a fake boyfriend to scare off the pe*verts, preferably one who was not interested in him.

So, he turned his attention to his cold deskmate, who had clearly expressed his disdain for him.

They first signed an agreement and adapted well to each other, so the agreement was upgraded to a love agreement.

Until he remembered that his deskmate was the protagonist gong, who was chased by thousands of fans.

Shen Jin wanted to end this fake relationship, but the process was a bit tortuous and his wish to break up was never realised.

After a certain physical education class, he was pressed into a bathroom stall in the gymnasium, and the protagonist shou’s voice was heard outside the wall.

The Alpha covered his lips and said casually: “Be careful, that guy is coveting you.”

Shen Jin wants to cry but has no tears. He is looking for you.

This was a good read. I was a little hesitant at first because cold and unfeeling MCs aren't my fav but this MC, Shen Jin, is seen as cold and unapproachable at first but we get to see him warming up and opening up to people around him as we progress. His past with his family had me crying a lot and it conveys his experiences in shaping him into who he is. He isn't vain or spiteful and his morals are high. He's also very clumsy and panic stricken... more>> on the inside. He is a very strong character that I really love.

The ML is also amazing. He's typical domineering, possessive, school bully, big bro character but what's not typical about him at all is how much he respects the MC and cherishes him. He can be impulsive and slightly calculative (?) but MC would've never fallen for him otherwise though.

One of my favorite moments of the novel is during the sports festival, ML and the love rival are competing in the same race where the rival suggests to compete and bet on MC. The ML replied, "He is not property. I will not bet for him." Bare minimum, I know, but I am on my knees.

Another thing I love is, the characters that would be defined as the main antagonists, getting in the way of ML and MC, aren't villianized to the point of unreasonable. The love rival, the original MC, MC's parents, they are all very raw characters that did bad things but I have never felt deep hatred towards these characters. They were given a chance to feel regret and change as a person due to MC's influence.

However, -0.5 stars due to personal feelings on certain aspects of the novel. The genders are verrrry streotyped. Bridal classes for omegas. Those still exists? Omegas not being allowed to participate in swimming class. Okay....

MC's brother was an omega that was into typical "alpha" stuff like boxing, cars and stuff. Okay, progressive! But then they turned him into an Alpha. Kill me. He was fine!

But don't be turned off by it though because it was such a small, insignificant part of the novel. The MC even encourages one character to have courage as an omega and not to let his gender hold himself back.

This novel had one of my favorite formats as well, getting together near the end! I always get bored and lose interest when the characters get together early, like now what but they get together later in the story with extra epilogue chapters!!

So, good school life romance with lovable characters, empathetic main character, respectful love interest, resonable antagonists, tied up ends, little drama, little angst, and whole lot of pink. <<less

Woah. My realistic rating is a 4.5, but I'll give this 5 stars to boost it up. This can be called a simple school-life story, but that would deny the healing and thawing of our MC's emotionally frozen heart that had resulted from years of neglect of ab*se, and the efforts our cold, arrogant ML put into thawing that heart and making him feel again.

But, it is true that the plot of this novel has a majority focus on a simple school-life romance, with two highschool "tyrants" in a sense... more>> (with the MC being more of an "ice god" than a tyrant) intersecting paths and learning more about each other. But I think the undercurrents of this novel, the nuances with every character dynamic related to the MC, is what makes this novel stands out. You have MC's neglectful yet not necessarily evil family, his cold older-brother-like cousin (whose heart was drained dry until he met the MC), MC's doted on biological younger brother (who surprisingly has a close bond with the MC), and our ML, who is cold and arrogant but yet goes out of his way to worm his way into MC's heart, teaching him how to not give warmth silently but also accept it.

SO many things factor into making this novel beautifully written, from the resolutions that are neither black and white to the so-called characters that may be dislikable but not an antagonist. This novel is so fleshed out underneath such a simplistic school-life romance, it feels like a disservice to call it a simple school-life romance story. MC and ML are characters I can literally die for. MC is the embodiment of a silent love that you find too late to have penetrated every inch of your being, and the ML is the embodiment of a raging inferno of a love that will never burn you, providing you the warmth to keep stepping forward. The ML... wow... so possessive but always making sure MC's autonomy is respected. Their characters are just a match in heaven.

Of course, I do have some critics... The author's writing feels a little rough/stereotypical (omegas, alphas, and betas all fall under a certain class of traits, no exceptions to that rule even if disguised as otherwise) and the whole "cannon-fodder in the novel" thing could've been elaborated on more, but I really do appreciate the nuances the author wrote into this story. It can really make a difference on a plain read and a dimensional read. Fully recommend! <<less

I really love this story! There are no huge red flags in the characters' relationship—they respect and accept each other. I especially liked the moment when the rival suggested that the ML make a bet over the main character, to which the ML replied: "He's not an object to be bet on." Thank you so much for finally addressing why moments like this (betting on a person) are completely unacceptable.

It's an interesting story, with the romantic storyline taking center stage. There's no explicit content, though there are some very heated... more>> moments—it's ABO, after all! Overall, it's a pretty sweet and fairly cliché story (school setting, bully vs. Top student), but it's well-written. It genuinely makes my heart bloom with joy. It's wonderful to have stories like this. <<less

This is my cup of tea. I love it. It's sweet but not greasy. There's not too much blantant interaction but make it subtle s*xual tension, endearing and lovely. I like the main couple so much, their interaction with their family and friends too. Well there's something regret too, like the mc's parent and ex-fiance. And here the og MC is a lil bit like a cute Stone in a way. It's like, why are you there? There's no significant impact but.. It's a lil bit annoying for my OCD... more>> sake. He's not a villain, very Humane. At first he just look like a tool of fate, but then there's actually have some of his realistic desire. So.. He's cute. AS for the plot.. There's some unexplainable thing.. Look like a plot hole, but it can be a twist.. But I don't understand.. So for me, it's a plot hole

Except the absolute Bad Guys in the background that actually really need to get rid off, I really liked how the author wrote the character of OG Protagonist Shou, MC's ex fiance, and especially LOVE the Familial Love of MC's brothers (lil bro and big cousin is THE BEST!!!) and the Absolutely Supportive Mother of ML's!

The characters' personality written so well even with how plot about their world trying to force OG! Protagonist Shou and ML to interact. It played in slightly comedic, but also heavy as in ML dislike... more>> this force so much because it gave him Pain literally. But truly Love how ML truly pay attention to the OG protagonist Shou's real personality.

The twist of how it make senses in everything, without paint him in the evil nor white lotus script.

The 'defect' of Ex-fiance's personality also can make you think in different light. But also that's why he's not suitable for our MC. That's why I can't think of him as Scum, and love how he's not painted as Evil nor Villain too. Just flawed and not suitable for our MC who had gone through so much.

And that's why MC and ML suitable for each other because their relationship is not One-sided give give gives or take take takes. They both give and take. They Emotional and Physically (non-sexual, but the Omegaverse biology stuff) benefit and help each other.

And love how their development become more genuinely so naturally because ML really want to take care of MC, while MC also become more understanding of ML's situation and feelings.

Their relationship progress was so well done it's really sweet and absolutely Heartwarming!!!

The bonus part of course their marking scenes even with being non-sexual, it was quite sensual (͡⁠°⁠ ͜⁠ʖ⁠ ͡⁠°⁠) hm... hmm...

I can't wait to know the ending and the aftermath. I pray the rest of the story is as good and Satisfying till the end!!! 🙏🙏🙏 <<less

Very satisfying to read. The relationship (platonic and romantic) development is very well handled. It's very obvious that the basis of why MC and ML like each other is based purely off personality and care for each other, visual appeal has nothing to do with it at all (except for gap moe bc MC is cute and caring but ostensibly looks like an "Ice God")

tbh I really appreciated that while canonically, MC and ML are both incredibly visually attractive, the moments that they interact have nothing to do with... more>> that. It typically comes up only when the story discusses how others see them. It's repeatedly emphasized that ML would not fall for anyone because of pheromone matching rates, attractiveness, wealth, etc. no matter what, it's purely that he likes the MC as a person and likes taking care of him. In fact, he's actually very sweet to him and not at all domineering towards him or anything. I think it's quite funny and cute that despite knowing how slow, silly, and easy to take advantage of that the MC is (the idea of MC agreeing to marriage and giving up his life to repay a little bit of kindness is a genuine worry the ML has), the ML never takes advantage of him. In most stories, you'll see the ML doing stuff like basically fooling / coercing MCs like that into relationships, to allowing more intrusive behavior, etc. but here, the ML uses that knowledge to... make sure the MC drinks warm water and eats things that don't hurt his stomach (he has stomach problems) lol

In fact, ML's whole strategy for seducing MC is to take care of him and hopefully one day MC will like him lol. No big displays of money, power, nothing. Just little things like getting him water, grabbing him lunch at school, studying together, etc. I think it's so nice (and kinda funny) that there's such big emphasis on ML

Something I also appreciated was that (probably a key message tbh) is that everyone (including background classmates) likes each other because of mutual kindness, not because of beauty or strength.

Notably within the story, MC is not well liked before the start of the story despite being canonically beautiful and high in the test rankings due to being considered distant and uncaring (when he's just shy) but everyone likes him more in the background as time goes on as they come to learn that he's actually very caring and considerate; same happens for ML

Important: Anyone who mistreated MC like the neglectful abusive parents are treated accordingly and abandoned / disregarded and not given unnecessary affection or undeserved forgiveness. MC's brother is a pretty good example of what would happen in their family situation and a good kid the entire story. He was one of my favorite side characters. He's happy and quite likely would viscerally hate being Omega because of the gender norms and especially because of the stuff that happens to him before the start of the story. I enjoyed it soooo muuuuccchhh. Commonly, in this type of novel, the og progshou would have been the villain. But this novel gives another path for them. It's cute. It's like seeing teens fall in love. I also like how even though there are times when the ML has to lie, when the MC finds out, he willingly confesses.

A Very very good read, enjoyed every chapters of it. It doesn’t feel dragging or repetitive, the overall chemistry of MC and ML is amazing, and I really love the way they get to know each other. The ML is a MAN (like THE MAN), his amazing when it cones to being attentive and very loving yet still having a sense of healthy possessiveness to the MC. If you’re the kind that likes to read possessive and jealous ML, this is good where it have just enough (could be more... more>> but alas) yet still having a great ML with good communication skill and empathy. The MC is very different from what you read in the synopsis but you will found yourself loving him.

Overall, I really recommend this story if you want to read smtg light but still have great nuance and not just fillers. The writing of school setting was done very well and not over the top. <<less

Wow I've read a ton of books especially ABO ones and this one was so well done. The amount of respect each main character has to others. The author did an amazing job trying not to degrade or humiliate people. The two main leads had a fun dynamic and a very healthy process to developing a solid relationship. I highly recommend it and wow the back story of our MC broke my heart I just wish we could see more of them.🥹
