Still at ch. 58 but this was really funny. I really like their monologues and hidden thoughts.

It is quite fresh to read mom with 3 sons and treating his sons, grandsons as tr*sh and daughter as pearl while the ML family of 3 sons, he as the youngest is being treated as pearl.

The level of shamelessness of the MC's mom is second to none.

I laugh so ahrd whenever she express her views, illogical and unreasonable views.

It was a story full of misunderstanding thinking that the other person. Mean well.

The FL strived to learn not like any other with goldfinger, she still needs to work hard and the theres no logic on how they defend her as being lazy ahahhaha eithin the whole community and that rat chasing thing.

She has a military system that gives her task to cook, clean, make clothes.... To transform her from being lazy to a perfect military wife

I LOVED THE FIRST HALF. It was entertaining watching MC try to fix damage caused by her mom and brainwash her into being 'nicer' XD!!! super amusing too, when ML and MC kept thinking each other was hardworking and super reliable when they both were lazy af and forced by circumstances! XD too good.

However... the latter half felt basic and repetitive. Would have dropped, but I decided to just skip through chapters to get to the end.

Personally, novels in the 70's/80's/90's quickly get boring when a system is... more>> involved. They start out great but become a meh closer to the end. This is what I felt for this novel too. Especially if you've read many such novels, it loses appeal most times. <<less

(2nd Read: 02/10/2023) This novel is as hilarious as the first time I read it! Unfortunately, I remember things too well (I think I read this the first time only a few months ago. But I encountered it again so I decided to reread it.) I would have probably kept reading if I was in a better mood, but I had to drop it early after a while (stopped halfway, at c110s). OLD REVIEW: A lazy MC is forced to become the best military wife by a SYSTEM lol! Set in the 60s, when the famine was in full swing and everyone was having a hard time. It takes a different approach than other novels of the same type. The MC is lazy and has to develop slowly — she's not well rounded. The romance is also more of a subplot. The ML is also lazy, but he was forced to the military; and, because he can't withstand losing out, he pushes himself (he's cute but he doesn't do much).

Overall? This is a great weak-to-strong novel. It has strong comedic undertones, especially in the beginning. Later on, the focus is more on developing the main characters' skills and temperament. With the MC deciding to become a military doctor, and the ML slowly rising up through the ranks. (Oh! As for the side characters, they're worth getting to know LOL. The main humor in the beginning is the fact that the MC's mom spoils her to death and is great at brainswashing others to do the same).

MTL is 70% readable. I made it? Though I didn't finish it completely cause I felt like the story was pretty finished after the birth of the baby. Would definitely like to read it again one day tho. <<less

It's quite fun, although a little too long. The patriotic parts and being a genius part is overkill and has become so redundant later in the series.

What I like is the premise of love at first sight. I think it was done so well. It can be considered that it's not really the first time they saw each other but they don't remember seeing each other, although they have the sense of "this guy looks familiar" and so thought it's a good impression of each other.
