This series premise is kinda insane. Like there have been some crazy elections, but a candidate seriously continuing a campaign after turning into a literal child is something else.

So you kinda need to have suspension of disbelief and just roll with it while reading. (Unless author really demonstrates a clever mind and addresses this seriously)

That said there is some thought put into it a bit, especially the role internet meme power and social media campaigns can have on a campaign (forum posts written are spot on for how some... more>> people would react). As well as how a complete rebrand has the potential to revitalize a failing 3rd party campaign.

Like for example it is actually kinda clever when author has MC do a

Spoiler

social media short challenge. Where they capitalized on MC having pronunciation issues, to create an adorable tongue twister challenge. Which in turn ends up going semi viral with algorithm boost. On the surface it's just look at the cute kid (candidate) failing the challenge adorably. But in reality it gets thousands perhaps millions of kids to promote the campaign as they repetitively chant and try to successfully pronounce a campaign statement written as a tongue twister. (Or just play the video in endless repeat as kids are liable to do, burning it into parents brains with the passion of a million baby sharks)

[collapse]

Not super duper incredible, but with stuff like this you can vaguely see how it could be very remotely plausible the MC could win if she proves to still be competent.

Anyways I would say this series basically mirrors the tone of its cover image so far. It's meant to be a series that doesn't take itself too seriously, and raise the readers blood sugar levels with a "cute kid" acting cute.

That said the author has set up an interesting premise that could actually be interesting if they explore it. Namely that the MC actually has their mind intact, but is being swayed by actions and emotions of the kid body. And now is trying to figure out how to convey those thoughts past the "kid filter". Honestly it would be kind of terrifying to be literally unable to override your body's actions to fully represent your thoughts/will.

It's early, but it is loosely reminiscent of series like Mesugaki Tank, or Harold in death flags (but instead a cute filter), when it has MC point of view.

This sort of premise, I like and is what drove me to give this a review this early in.

Anyway it's way to early to really judge the series. For now I give it a 5 because it is a creative setting, seems to do its premise well and the writing fits so far. It has potential to actually engage my brain a bit later if author explores some of the more psychological aspects, and how the campaign manages to overcome the numerous hurdles. If my opinion changes as the story gets more meaty (or doesn't and is just fluff), I will reflect that in updating this.

If you are a serious person or reader, you might give it a 3, it's probably not going to interest you much currently, there are more stimulating professional stories out there.

Anyways, should be interesting to see how MC manages to overcome limitations in the debate on the horizon.

Update:

Review above was made at chapter 17. This addition was made at chapter 70.

I pretty much stand by what I already said. This is not a series meant to really stimulate the logical part of your brain, and isn't meant to be taken so seriously. It is basically a meme about how childish politicians are come to life with a actual child candidate.

But at the same time this ridiculous story may actually have a message. A way to renew how one views politics and how to approach it. One of the unique talents of children is to get to the heart of things via their simple and childish thinking. To have unmatched optimism and dreams. To reflect the flaws of parents and adults back into their face. To bring out the best in people with their purity and innocence. To break down the walls between others.

And that is what this candidate does. It makes me think that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have a kid like this candidate involved in politics (though without actual power, because that would be crazy). Tone down the temperature by chastising the adults for bullying each other. Inspire positivity and unity by treating even opponents with respect, rather than evil incarnate.

Anyways I guess I could imagine a legitimate world with the right political climate where a serious campaign like this story has could gain some traction. I would prefer it if the author spent more time with Jiwoos struggle to control his kid traits (which are close to being a separate personality), as that could make the story more interesting.

But the debate in the story I was looking forward to, was done well (though short), as that definitely is the ultimate defensive strategy that only someone like Jiwoo could pull off. <<less
