1. When Xiang Ge was pursuing Zhou Xingyan in the past, she racked her brain to think of ways.

Just as she was about to succeed, she suddenly gave up and left.

Years later, the two meet again after a long separation.

Heaven spares no one—Zhou Xingyan has completely forgotten about her.

2. Xiang Ge loves eating junk food, but as someone who follows a healthy lifestyle, Zhou Xingyan has always forbidden her from indulging.

One night, they get into an argument over ordering fried chicken delivery.

With his long eyelashes lowered, Zhou Xingyan’s tone turns slightly stern: “If you really want to make me angry, go ahead and order it.”

Hearing this, Xiang Ge’s face lights up with delight, and without hesitation, she immediately pulls out her phone, opens the app, and quickly places the order.

A crisp “ding-dong” sound echoes through the living room as the payment is completed.

Zhou Xingyan: “….”

Spoiled and flirtatious troublemaker x Pseudo-righteous, untouchable flower

“At the sight of you…”

—I want to perform a Thomas full twist with a sideways rotation followed by three-and-a-half spins, then a 720-degree somersault split leap just to kiss you.

*The title is inspired by A-Mei’s song “Whenever I Think of You.”

It's been so many times that I've stumbled a really decent, entertaining novel, yet the rating is so low?? This have 3.5 by the time I write the review, I'd give around 4.4 (so 5 stars now to balance it out), but let me tell you why it's wrong:

At first, when I read the synopsis and tags, I kinda already expect what this novel would unravel. The protagonist-fall-in-love-first trope, the cold unfeeling Male Lead, the reunited after runaway incident and then the realization that she already 'captured' the ML long... more>> time ago.

It's a bit similar to what I've read before, so, yes, nothing surprising. Yet, I love the pace, the flow, the writing. It's something simple, yet none of the tier 3.5-stars novel would be able to achieve, proving that writing a coherent story with the right structure is still difficult for many.

It's compelling and sweet, I can definitely classified it as fluff. Quite hot and passionate as well, it's fun and blush-inducing to read even with no smut. However, the backstory of why the female lead, Xiang Ge, would run away, is tragic. There should be a warning for domestic violence (of course not by the male lead *wink*).

There are a few things that I personally dissatisfied with (the character itself, not the story) ; I imagine that if this story has an alternate transmigration plot where someone could replace the female lead, it would be clear that she was quite occupied by herself. She rarely thinks of others, while being super insecure and closeted. I get why, but seeing her backlash towards the male lead for putting together all the jigsaw puzzle she left him is kinda low. Like didn't you owe him some explanation for your actions?

Luckily, like I said, this phase isn't dragging until it's annoying. I find that her exact personality is what glued the story (if she behave differently, it will be a different story), yet I wish that she can be a little more understanding towards Zhou Xingyan. I think romance novel should stop pivot around the female lead, making only the male lead that just give, give, and give.

For the translation, everything seemed okay, but sometimes the name of the character isn't consistent. For the male lead, sometimes it's Zhou Xingyan, other time it's Zhou Hangyan. Xiang Ge has a nickname for him, "Xing Xing", so I figured his correct name should be Zhou Xingyan. It's a bit confusing for me at first, because I thought it's a whole different character. <<less
