There are always four kinds of people in the traditional Mary Sue world. The Male Lead, the Mary Sue female lead, the woman who never wanted to see the female protagonist live a good life, and the infatuated man willing to destroy heaven and earth to get the female lead.

However, with the rapid expansion of the army of rotten women, there is also a growing type of character, and that is a man who is also infatuated with the male lead… This character is referred to as the gay guy. They share the same infatuation as the second man, also has a tragic end and works together in hindering the male and female protagonist’s love.

Fan Yuan has walked in every time and space playing as the gay man. He had always enjoyed it, until one day, with superb acting, he made the male lead bent… o (╯-╰) o

Fan Yuan (affectionate confession): “I do not want to be your brother, in fact, I have always loved you.”

Someone (fondly looking back): “Me too.”

Fan Yuan (⊙_⊙): “…”

You’ve got the wrong line, bro!

What's with the system repeatedly calling MC "God of acting"? MC has crossed 3000 worlds but still sucks at acting. He doesn't mind the ori. Host's character. Just does whatever he wants. I accept he's s*upid, bad at maintaining his composure and dense in a way. But come on, how can one be this bad after living 3000 characters?? In the second arc, the original host is a shy, reserved, socially awkward, Otaku, who loves his brother in secret. His gloomy aura is obvious. But MC doesn't care. He directly... more>> destroys the character setting and replaces it with his bubbly, bright, childish, gluttonous character. This inevitably causes many OOC moments. Whereas the system which keeps warning about OOC lets him loose again and again. Where's the logic??? I didn't find the host-system interaction funny too, it was........ meh. Though the starting point was interesting, it got boring. And annoyingly uncomfortable with poor presentation and f***ed up logic. I personally don't recommend this one.

Translation was more engaging than the plot. It's good. <<less

I tried to like this story, I really did. I picked it up and dropped 3 times before actually finishing it, but in the end it just was not my cup of tea. The story is well-translated, but the plotlines just have something missing. No matter the situation, our MC just feels... impotent and helpless. It's frustrating to constantly watch him being condescended to and his actions feel pointless. He can't accomplish anything and the ML can do anything. The arcs and various worlds don't feel like they matter and... more>> by the end, are usually reduced to rubble in the face of relationship drama. I read QT novels because I like having separate worlds that I can go back to and treat an arc as a cohesive story, this doesn't scratch that itch. The story gets boring and repetitive. I also don't feel like there's any good relationship build-up, it's just the ML forcing his way until the MC gives in. The entire story ends up feeling forced. <<less

I love... quick transmigrationals novels. But... I have given this novel 3 different tries and all 3 times I got really bored.. I just can't seem to get into it. The plot is so rushed, things just happens.. and you are told about it afterwards. Like the 3rd arc.. I was literally confused what happened... and the arc was over! I had to read the extra that retold the story in a side character's view to realize what happened.. That's just bad writing.. How does this have a 4.4 rating... more>> is beyond me. <<less

Finished the main story, would updated the review after the all the extras get translated.

I took a break for few months after I almost finished the 4th arc, so I only remember half of what had happened at the beginning before continued read the rest.

The start of the series was rather interesting. The end of the 1st arc honesty was a shock but not exactly bad or good. Different and interesting from usual World Hopping I had read so far at least.

It tagged as Slow Romance because it took few... more>> arcs for the MC to fall for ML. ML is Very Very Possessive. Yandere in a way he doesn't have problem saying he would kill people who dare to do anything to MC. ML is Shameless Pe*vert. ML is black belly. ML is SO STRONG. But ML would NEVER hurt MC! When MC and ML offically together, they're being Lovey Dovey in Love and Lust. As much as pe*vert ML is, if MC's body are weak or too young and too fragile, he ALWAYS HOLD BACK aka didn't go all the way. He's a very Doting and Devoted Loving Lover! Also don't doubt MC's feelings too. It took time, but he does end up Loving ML.

Then let's talk about MC's personality. It kinda like blink and you missed it, but we actually get to see bit by bit that MC is not little saint even with only half memories. That's why we get to see why MC can do what he did in 9th arc. That's why he has no real problem with ML's darkness. Though we only get to know the reason at the 10th arc.

MC and ML is moral gray. Dislike it? Just don't read it.

MC is still Enjoyable and Lovable character though. I love him. I also LOVE ML's combination of Loving, Doting, and Possessiveness. And I also enjoyed their relationship.

For the plots, it was combination of Doing the World Hopping missions, feeling the mystery of why MC's memories erased, and Higher people who plotted against the ML. It sound a bit messy but it's NOT a Mess! It was well Written novel and I LOVE IT!

I pray for the rest of the extras to be great and won't disappoint. 🙏 <<less

After reading this in full and then reading the reviews, I realize that most of the dissatisfaction stems from a misleading premise. The first few arcs imply that the MC is a cute white sweet character being bullied by the ML. The truth of the matter is that the MC is an actor to the point that he even wants to deceive himself. Thus the true premise is revealed:

Two baddies falling in love, causing chaos, and finally tightening their nets to secure their two person world.

The novel is much more... more>> enjoyable from this perspective.

The only part I struggled with was the non-con arc. The slag author was fully establishing the possessive character of the ML. He crosses some lines and the MC sets some boundaries via petty revenge. I didn't mind seeing two guys torture each other. What I didn't like was that the author didn't clarify that the MC wasn't getting r*ped until after the arc had ended.

The author does show growth of their relationship over time. The ML is always testing the line, but ultimately respects his partners decision. The two continue to trick each other through the novel. All I can say is that these two baddies are made for each other. Left alone they can get up to some mischief, so they also serve as each other's restraint as long as no one is intruding on their two person world.

Update on extras: The last 3 chapters unexpectedly show the extent Mary Sue worlds can go to even better than the main text. Very recommended! Lol. 👍👍 <<less

One of the good world hopping danmei that I read. Every arc have diff ending, just ready your tissue everyone~

It was funny with MC inner monologue saying he will not be bent but eventually with our ML neverending show of affection sooner or more on Arc 4 MC accepts it,

Sample: ML to MC (who's still in denial at first)

... more>> ML: "Okay, okay, okay, a straight man, a straight man. Whatever he said would go. Who let him always go along with Fan Yuan (MC) ne~"

"But I'm only like this with you. With strangers, I find even sparing them a glance disgusting."

ML though being a tease but a really doting overbearing husband *sigh* he can't bear hurting MC, as long as MC says to stop or cry ML will respect MC

About the Arcs/worlds short descrpt

Spoiler

Arc 1 (Childhood friends)

was short it was already the ending of the 1st arc at the start of the story. Heartwrenching It's BE ;_; there will be more story about arc 1 later as u read

Arc 2Brotherdls (MC is adopted) another BE;_;

Arc 3 ML turned Emperor, MC advisor another "BE" oof MC runaway fr ML, having lil revenge or just want to piss ML haha me as reader ML may be a black belly but he's been very patient they still haven't done the "deed" /last phase

Arc 4 Master-Disciple, ML whimpering to MC why he left him on last world

MC was like:

Fan Yuan felt wronged, "Is it because I lied to you last time, so you didn't come to find me this time? You've lied to me so many times, can't you let me fight back ma?"

Yan Rui didn't know whether to cry or laugh. It turns out that the crux of the problem lay here. He actually lost his heart to inner demons over this kind of thing, Yan Rui really had to give it to this little ancestor.

Well atlast they really got together in this Arc. For the deed to go until the last ML asked MC if he's willing and finally MC said yes *congrats to you twooo*

Arc 5 Doctor MC, ML brother of the son of fate, well they're really lovey dovey here although there will be dog blood drama on the story

Arc 6 Demon/Wulin Factions, kinda fluff if you compare with other arcs, raise your banners and shout Daddy~~

Arc 7 Apocalypse, MC been really played at this arc hahahha and let's see how MC will playback 3fold^^

Arc 8 Verse, MC is a marshal, now let's see how ML will play his role here

Arc 9 Ancient settings again

Arc 10 origin world

MC is a tsundere and I can't believe I missed the tag : (. He enjoys the love, pampering, safety and security the ML provides him but refuses to do the same. He doesn't love ML at all, it's all for his convenience. I wish ML would dump his sorry ass. He even gives ML false hope and promises that they'll spend their whole lives together only for MC to purposefully die right after to follow the 'plot' that didn't need to be followed anymore.

Literally in the next arc, MC... more>> nad ML don't meet for while and MC is super happy that he got rid of ML and that ML won't bother him anymore. Then a couple chapter later he's crying that ML abandoned him... MC is the epitome of an unlikable spoiled brat. He really doesn't deserve the love and should just carry out his s*upid missions for all of eternity alone and have no one by his side.

MC banks on ML protecting him in any dangerous situation and uses his love to his advantage when it benefits him, but also continously pushes ML away and curses at him. After knowing about ML's love he even tells him to go sleep with FL. The disregard and disrespect is insane. <<less

Posting a review because the most recent ones are kinda negative. I've rated this before and gave it 5stars. Came back to it while I was looking for some QT BLs to pass the time and found that I had already read this and wondered why I'd given it a 5 despite the negative reviews.

Seriously, give this one a shot and maybe it will be just your cup of tea like it was with me. This hit a lot of my kinks too lol

Spoiler

If you like an ML who is aggressively into the MC, whacky scenarios, and dog-blood drama, this is a fun one.

[collapse]

It was worth it. I especially liked the overarching storyline of MC, and how it bridges the different arcs. I honestly liked the MC. He's a fun character and while some might call him dense, it's kind of explained in one of the arcs why he's resistant to the idea of love and I totally get the longing to be someone who gets chosen after having experiencing not being the first choice. There are some crack elements mixed in lol.

Despite MC's hang ups, he still remains positive and driven. I liked the pacing and definitely a recommended QT for those waiting for the bigger saga-like QTs to get completely translated.

What really cemented this as something I'll never forget is the angst and character!whump we get mixed in in the overarching storyline between MC and ML. How they met and how it changed both of them so greatly.

Their meeting and what happened between them made them who they are and their subsequent decisions in the following arcs. But the overarching story is sprinkled in between the arcs, so most won't really understand MC and why they make the decisions they do if they don't actually read it to the end.

Over-arching plot:

Spoiler

MC has been a background character for many many worlds, and finally got promoted to a minor male lead character in a world-hopping setting. BUT, his job title ends up being the gay male supporting character in most BG worlds. His first world where he carries his new title, he grows up with the ML, and it's shown through a few flashbacks how MC ended up blurring lines between who he was and who the Original character was supposed to be. Unknowingly, (revealed in later chapters with the ML's POV) the actor playing ML fell in love with MC's soul.

MC dies tragically, fulfilling their first role as a minor gay rival character, but doesn't realize he was more affected by the life he had with ML than he realizes. It ends up affecting a lot of his choices and the way he ends up playing his roles in future worlds.

ML destroys that world after MC's passing onto a different one. MC goes through several worlds being a newly minted minor gay rival before he unknowingly comes across the ML. We find out later ML has been looking for him in different worlds. ML recovers his memory and starts to adjust his approach towards MC, making sure not to OOC too much for fear of scaring the MC away and avoiding actively destroying the OG plot or getting detected by the world mission as having passed.

If you liked s*um Shou Survival Guide and others that have whump for both MC and ML, you will enjoy this when these details are revealed.
[collapse]

A reason why some people disliked this:

Spoiler

I guess some didn't like the MC running away, but I didn't find it drawn out or frustrating. I felt it was just right. I actually enjoyed ML "chasing" his wife and how their relationship evolved through the arcs.

Also: Huge massive props to the translators for the NSFW complete scenes. It wasnt just fade to black 😍😭❤️ I was so friggin happy we finally got an explicit scene after reading so many yaoi with fade to blacks or cencored scenes or weird imagery that pertained to the act. <<less

This, unfortunately, suffers from the same problem a lot of Chinese webnovels do. It starts good then overstays its welcome and the experience sours.

The MC starts out fine. The ML is a yandere and pretty evil, which was nice. But then the MC keeps denying he feels anything for the ml, and it isn't shown effectively that he's coming around until the cultivation arc.

I stopped at the cultivation arc because I don't see a point in continuing. That this was the halfway point is mystifying. It was already dragging in... more>> the first half.

Edit: I forgot to add this to a list, so thought I'd give it another shot. I didn't remember leaving this review, so it's pretty funny to see I called it quits at almost the exact same time as the first read (at the end of 4.7). I stand by what I wrote before, but I'll add a little more.

I don't like the ml. He's a yandere, but I found him annoying too. The MC just wanted to do his job and ended up stalked and harassed by the yandere ml, unable to complete his tasks. The MC didn't counter this at all. All the way until the cultivation arc, you don't really get the impression he feels anything for the ml. It feels like he was harassed into exhaustion and couldn't fight anymore. His sudden 180 felt silly.

There is never anything positive I feel the MC gets from the ml. Not a single thing. The ML doesn't care what the MC wants, and every tiny bit of freedom the MC has is treated as something the ML allows the MC to have. A gift he should be grateful for.

More than that though, I'm coming to this after reading other QT webnovels, and this one is very lacking in comparison. The worlds and their stories are not creative. The characters feel flat. The endings of to each arc are unsatisfying, as instead of taking us through the climax, the author chooses to tell us about it after it's happened off-screen.

That's just some of the poor writing you find in this webnovel. I cry very easily, but after the 2nd world, I didn't feel anything but annoyed and a little grossed out from the others. So overall, I stand by my original rating and have put it down as 'meh'. It's not horrible or something hate-worthy. But it's not good, and I won't be giving this another chance in the future. <<less

The MC is just confused and often frustrated by the situation. He tries to do his job and play his role in each story, but it gets messed up the ML trying to get his love and attention. The MC does have feelings for the ML, but outside of his characters, he doesn't seem to have much of a sense of identity. He doesn't remember who he originally was or have memories of the ML despite them clearly having some kind of history. The ML is focused and goal oriented.... more>> With endless power and no consequences to his actions, he happily stirs the pot and makes a mess of the stories so he can get close and win over his beloved. There is a lot of push and pull in this story. They both have insecurities and are just fumbling through this the best that they can. It's just they make a mess of everything along the way. While the ML does push the MC, it doesn't feel abusive. It's clear the MC has feelings, he is just confused by them. The act's do feel a little rushed. I guess because the focus is on the relationship between the 2 guys, the stories that they jump through lose some details and don't have their own resolutions.

The internal chats with the system is humorous at times. Can feel sorry for the system that doesn't get listened to when it offers sound advice.

This is definately character focused and the story exists just to push forward the relationship. If you are someone that likes a well developed and rich world building experience. This isn't for you. But it does have something to offer in the way of finding your place in a relationship when you don't really have any real experiences. The MC has only even lived in Mary sue novels and worked by a script, so that can lead to cute and/or annoying situations. I love the ML. He is possessive and driven enough to get what he wants, but he doesn't feel like he is trying to trap or force the MC into doing something against his will. It's the kind of pressure where the MC is forced to make decisions and think about his feelings instead of escaping and burying his head in the sand. If he wasn't pushed, the happy go lucky MC would be forever alone while the ML pined for him.

It is very well translated. <<less

Crap. I wrote a whole review but it was deleted accidentally T.T AHHH IM TOO HEARTBROKEN TO REWRITE 😭😭😭 let's just say that, while the novel isn't really for me, I didn't mind it and just enjoyed what I liked (which was mainly the self-indulgent shenanigans). Final rating for me is 3/5. If you're looking for something not too serious, then this one isn't so bad! It was a bit iffy at first, but I think it was after the 2nd-3rd (?) arc that things get a bit more interesting.

CHARACTERS:

The... more>> two main characters are pretty typical Gong and Shou types. The Gong is cold and possessive (only kind to to the MC), while the Shou is oblivious and stubborn (he's also the straight!type that gets slowly bent over time LOL.)

SETTING:

The setting is, well, it's not the most detailed! But the premise is hilarious. As is stated in both the summary and the title, the MC is an actor with a SYSTEM that travels from world to world to play out the minor gay love rival role. And, because of a confrontation with the ML, things go awry and his perfect record was broken (the better the actor plays their role the more rewards, and the MC had always been diligent before meeting the ML) !

PLOT:

Both the MC and ML have pretty mysterious backgrounds, but it's not really the focus. It's really mostly self-indulgent. Oh! But it should be noted that the pacing is pretty fast between worlds (the author skips a lot) so don't expect too much buildup T.T! <<less

As far as I read, the best arc is actually arc.0 where the MC played the role of ML's childhood friend. 🤦‍♀️ The rest of them are either too short or written perfunctorily. There's no fun in reading this. As the author or translator said, the ML was just too OP.
Spoiler

yeah, his status was too omnipotent that I don't understand what's the point of someone like him to follow the MC around worlds after worlds anymore. He literally can just turn the MC into senior officer or something higher than that and delve themselves into their love nest. End of the story. What's the need of all that ruckus?

[collapse]

Honestly, It is very rare for me to come across a novel where I don't like neither the MC nor ML. Their behaviours are just so bizarre and confusing, especially the MC. One minute, he sympathized with the ML, next minute, he stubbornly wanted to finish the plot/mission by seeking death again. What the hell? When they aren't together, he's stubborn and strong-headed, and when they're together, he's even more willful. Like seriously, why in the world he want to complete the mission that bad? It's to the point of it being ridiculous. He also doesn't seems to care much about the ML. Nevertheless, what I dislike most is his attitude and his determination for all those pity revenges. What's with the "i can wrong my boyfriend however I like, but no one can wrong me" attitude? Other than his angelic face and otherworldly appearance described in the text, I really don't know why ML fall in love with him. Even I, an outsider, feel so frustrated with how incompetence the MC is as a lover.

Besides, I just feel like the author didn't seem to care much about the plot of each arc at all? It looks like they're just there for the sake of it being a quick transmigration novel. Despite all those large amount of background given in each arcs, the focus are always more on MC and ML romances, emotional entanglements and interactions, hence the story of every arcs are hollow and meaningless, the interesting parts were all skipped and perfunctorily ended just like that (╥﹏╥), which is really disappointing, since I actually have high hope when I first read the beginning of the story.

I think I have tried to read this novel 4 times without ever finishing it... I have a lot of problems with how the ML acts toward the MC.

When you mess with someone so much. Try so hard to obstruct him from gaining what he needs to survive/grow just because you want to have him, then it's not love anymore. That was just selfishness.

I'm angry with ML so much I want to slap him.

I'm actually quite biased in judging this story.

It's all because I don't really like the way the author skipping each arc in the story.

I mean we know he was playing minor character, but it doesn't mean the author can always skip the story in each arc. Because it makes the story look like a two-hour film that retold in just five minutes.

Actually I have some though that mc's backstory is better served as a base story from the start than making it a dog blood twist at the end.

Because the whole story itself is too vague from beginning to the end.

The MC committed su*cide because he seems to fail the mission? (Can't quite remember as to why he kills himselves) but he doesn't really think much for his action. So there are extra chapter on that arc telling what happen after the su*cide. What I don't like is that the ML actually blame this one boy that like the MC as the cause of the su*cide. Sure, he did something to the MC but the ML is the really cause of the su*cide. And Im pretty sure the ML know that he is the reason MC kills himselves. U know, I don't like reading world hopping actually since I think is as you possessing someone body, however the MC actions in killing himselves dissapoints me. The people around MC has to live knowing someone dear to them ends his own life. His parents and friends. I just felt like it's not fair at all. Moreover, MC is not the original body.

the first arcs I don’t like v much tbh this novel was just ok for me but like I prefer the arcs when they are together kind of maybe.

also I don’t rlly get how the ML falls for the MC when he should know the MC was also a transmigrator so he was just acting out his role like ????? Bruh but ok ignoring that the ML mostly helps out the MC in all the worlds so it’s a smooth ride.

there’s barely any conflict and basically just feels like the... more>> story of the ML chasing MC and then then getting together kinda quickly bc they get together in the 4th arc??? Maybe ??? I don’t rmbr I read this a few months ago. Actually 4th arc isn’t that quick but idk each arc felt kinda short like there wasn’t much going on in each arc in my opinion.

the side characters aren’t memorable either and idk mostly just background characters actually there’s just like one side character I rmbr.

id give this more about maybe a 3.7 ?? Lol idk <<less

Perhaps, it's seems interesting at beginning but it becomes more boring and dull with every chapter.

Arcs about modern times and ancient times or cultivations. From description you can see, that he just must act roles of minor characters and it's really flatly.

One good side it has many humor.

It's disappointing and you can read this, but it doesn't exciting reading.

Reason I stopped reading: (In world 3.) MC and ML's 'relationship' struggle. MC's dislike for ML. And how overbearing ML is and how he feels he is in the right, and gets angry when MC deceived him and left/run away. MC is ML's/Gu Qi's adopted not blood related brother and is heavily doted on. ML doesn't quite follow the plot and later I think confesses his feelings to MC who then committed su*cide.

[collapse]

2. world: modern

Spoiler

ML/Fang Xu is very popular actor/superstar and MC is his manager who has to fulfill all the exaggerated requests he receives from ML (ML is playing with him). Later ML schemes = safes MCs live but got heavily injured and guild trips MC into (abdoning the plot/task) taking care of him for the rest of his live.

[collapse]

3. world: ancient

Spoiler

MC is ML/Pei Qi's (= the third princess) advicer (sent by his s*um father to be a spy for the crown prince, but decided to follow ML) or at least he was supposed to be... well outsiders thought their relationship looked too ambiguous. MC got kidnapped after cutting all relations with the crown prince and his family. Then taken to the palace nearly r*ped and finally saved by ML whose identity was finally exposed. Real (?) Name: Yan Rui

MC isn't happy after knowing he was played with by someone from a higher realm. Afterwards everything is not happy sunny and roses. MC is ignoring the ML and plotting to leave the world (and desert ML) by following the plot and dying in war after lying (in order to leave our vigilant ML) to ML. And then he takes a test to go to a higher plane in hopes of ML not being able to find him, follow him or obstruct him from doing his job.

[collapse]

4. World: cultivation

Spoiler

MC is a strong palace master with a fox as companion (pet?) in this world. He has a complex history with the main protagonist in their past lives. After dying he kept his memories in his next live and returns to the sect he and ML were.

5. world: modern

Spoiler

mc's roll black-bellied doctor

Review I agree with: by Saikick

"I can't bring myself to like the typically controlling, possessive ML and his overbearing habits (it just reads as abusive to me, no matter what).

The worlds are fairly basic and the story seems to avoid any particularly clever points (such as explaining a scheme or tactic rather than just vaguely referring to its existence and use without any details) which results in somewhat plain atmosphere.

With the story and the characters both somewhat lacking, I can't give this one a good review; I merely hope the ML grows up in nature before the end of the story. I couldn't bear to keep reading it myself."

It was a really fun read and I liked the various worlds and I especially liked the MC and ML. They're both heavily heavily flawed and not good people and selfish though so don't expect to be always aligned with their mindsets and decisions. I personally like these types of characters and thought they were charming to read. Their relationship was also really interesting and the back and forth between them had a level of development I wasn't expecting and really enjoyed. It develops the romance beyond the chase and... more>> getting together part and into an established relationship that I really liked. But fair warning with the tags like the ML is a real f*cked up yandere with consent issues and not everyone is comfortable with that so yeah if you asbolutelty hate that stuff, hit that back space!

MC isn't smart and I'd say he's kind of dumb but I'd also say that it perfectly matches the tone of the novel and pairs up well with the ML's dumb h*rny brain too so it's just a good MC for what this type of novel is trying to be. Like don't expect amazing plot twists or crazy politics, it's a emotional narrative built around drama and romance that is equally dumb as it is s*upidly, endearingly earnest and heartfelt. In all, it's has a rather light hearted earnestness and dumb humour I just couldn't hate.

I really liked the first world in particular and I think a lot of my good feelings is a result of how well that was set up and executed. Also I adored how it was recalled back to and reflected upon throughout the development of the novel instead of being instantly forgotten, each time revealing another aspect that enhances the characters and narrative. The author's ability to sprinkle it here and there to chatacterise the ML and then the MC, and retroactively show their individual thought processes as well as the relationship between them was very lovely. It added so much character to them and felt very fleshed out.

Spoiler

The ML's initial descent into madness is actually really well written in a non-chuuni way and legitimately feels like the collapse and breaking of sanity. I legitimately cried reading his chapter and then shuddered when he snapped. The author's writing can reach really high peaks.

Additionally, the way the MC and narrative initially brushed off the first world's conclusion into a little gag was a brilliant decision and good hint of unreliable narration. With the ML's POV being revealed early, it's easy to be duped into thinking that would be all from the first world but the author was just slowly setting up a later development so it can unravel the depths to MC's real feelings about the ML. It sets up the later foreshadowing and hints on how the ML's abandonment truly hurt him and the MC's subsequent weariness isn't just the obvert "I'm straight!" denial or that the ML is getting in the way of MC's job but rather a much more deep seated fear of abandonment that is a huge part of the MC's character and especially his hidddn background.

[collapse]

It's a pretty cliche, doesn't really deviate from the norm and the writing isn't very poetic or trying to be at all. Some sections are very moving and I really do like the characterisation of both MC and ML. The novel does all it wants competently with a sort of crass dog humour I just click well with. It's very slang heavy and cute but it handles a lot of suprisingly heavy topics in a rather assured way that's neither too preachy or too thoughtlessly. Like the tragedy of the world is just how the world is but we can still continue on with humour and love and the MC's endearing excitement to continue forth. It's a light novel I really enjoyed reading in a few days.

I'd have even given it a higher rating if it wasn't for the kind of drop near the end. The last two arcs and especially the last arc unfortunately felt rushed and like the author just wanted to end it which is a little disappointing but I think the earlier chapters and arcs with the substantial build up and character development was well done to the point that I can ignore the ending. I can still like what the resolution offered in terms of concrete canonical facts even if it didn't end as satisfying as I liked. I can just imagine a better ending I guess or go reread earlier chapters and enjoy it again. But it turned me off from reading the Extra chapters.

Whelp, I still liked it but it's not to everyone's taste! <<less

I really hate hypocrites, and to make it worse, MC is a white lotus hypocrite!

There was this scene where the MC was frustrated over a movie, where the main character dies a meaningless death for the movie to obtain sympathy from the audience. He claimed that the character didn't deserve that. Well, that scene was meaningless.

Spoiler

Literally a few chapters later, the MC kills himself when he realizes the plot was going haywire in order to hop onto another world. He created a meaningless death and broke the hearts of many -his family, the ML, and admirers- without care. What a hypocrite.

[collapse]

Moreover, people fall left, right, and center for the MC, including the ML of course. But it's usually over the MC's looks! Which should technically belong to the original characters that are who knows where with MC taking over!

Also, where are the MC's supposed OP acting skills??? All I see is him acting silly and OOC... again, where are his acting skills??? <<less
