The secret love, longing, and the resolution was so touching. What I like about this short novel is that it didn’t end when they confirmed their feelings for each other, instead the author showed how their life began to bloom with their love. Though there is one thing I don't like about this, it’s the fact that the s** scenes can’t be translated because a certain online literature site doesn’t like that kind of stuff. MTL and it was amazing, but not as amazing as the story itself. UGH the maturity that both of these characters have is something I really appreciated. What a great way to break away from the overused typical plots and characters I have had to suffer through before I found this gem.

A++++ communication, REALISM, the gradual flow of their romance and the drama! Beautiful. One of the few couples I purely enjoyed and wish for their eternal happiness. The definition of a power couple. I love love.

It’s a short but beautiful story with realistic characters. The characters are well developed and each has their own flaws, but that’s what makes them human and loveable.

However my favorite part of the story is ML’s family. I love how the stepmother isn’t made out to be a villain, and how the stepbrother looks up to his elder brother. And while ML was traumatized by his mother and had a hard time managing his feelings, he didn’t turn cruel either. He still helped out his stepbrother, although he tried to... more>> distance himself. While father seems controlling at first, we later come to understand why he acts that way and I don’t blame him. He only wanted the best for his sons although he didn’t go about it the right way. The only villain would be the mother, who hurt the whole family because of her selfish actions, and Ik: glad that was recognized.

Overall the story was well written, with a more mature perspective, but the romance was so sweet. I did feel sad for our beloved assistant at a few points, but that’s what made their love more enjoyable.

Who is out here rating this beautiful story 1 star?!! Absolutely criminal behavior. This novel has seriously become one of my favorites, portraying a mature and supportive love, with even the side characters getting their moments of development to shine.

I just love a protagonist falls first story, with all the the subtle pining of an MC as they sneak glances and try to hide their feelings. Getting to feel all those fluttery feelings of a hidden crush with them, while knowing that they will eventually get the guy- there's really... more>> nothing quite like it. Sweet but sour, exciting but hopeless at the same time, MC's feelings made me grin and giggle at times while stabbing knives into my heart the next.

MC is very relatable and likeable, being extremely competent while also having his endearingly clumsy moments. His childhood wasn't easy, but he made the most of his circumstances and has grown into such a humble person, albeit to an an almost self-deprecating degree. While not entirely lacking confidence, he experiences times of self-doubt and anxiety that add a lot of depth to his character.

ML is sweet but oblivious, and it's easy to see why MC is in so deep. Whenever he did something vaguely ambiguous I could feel myself getting just as worked up as MC. The moment his feelings started to shift was so poignant for me, and the writing conveyed his building emotions so well.

The flow of the novel goes back and forth from past to present whenever it suits the narrative, and the author shifts between the timelines very effortlessly. Despite the novel being on the shorter side, the characters all fell well fleshed out, and the relationship development is really sweet and realistic.

The translation is wonderful but I am impatient so I ended up reading with MTL. Will have to come back and re-read, which will no doubt amplify the beauty of this author's writing. <<less

Ahhhhh!! This novel is so cute and fluffy. Though my heart aches 😔💓 thinking about MC secret love to ML for 7 or 8 years but it was worthy since ML starts noticing about his feelings to MC. Sometimes I am pissed off about ML not recognising his feelings for MC before but we cannot blame him because of his past trauma well you cannot call it as trauma it can also be taken as sad past. Alas I liked how they express their feelings💘.

Dropped it mid chapter. I found it a little bit boring, characters uninteresting, but I don't think (objectively) it's a bad story at all.

It has a great translation and an easy to follow along writing style. The author, IMO, has an adequate grasp on making scenes flow naturally and making the emotions / experiences acceptably realistic (for a cliche story line and slightly stereotypical characters).

Decent work over all, but not for me. Others might love it and it's understandable why.

A very good Modern Danmei, its a light novel with minimum conflict and very focus on reletionship development of MC and ML.

Simple, eloquent, and sweet.

I MTLed this novel because I was too impatient. And even through half-crappy MTL, my heart throbs in painful, restrained fluffiness.

The novel's vibe is a sort of cute, airy drama. And I emphasize airy. It's like the airiness of drinking on the balcony at sunset. It's fresh like a summer cucumber but also grounded.

The characters are relatively relatable and comedic. The main focus is still on the two main characters though.

I've only read up this far but it's enjoyable.

This is the type of love I want. It's so mature, steadfast, and reliable. Communication was done, actions taken were realistic, no unnecessary drama. Wow.

Essentially, we have a pining capable assistant MC x strict, dimensional, slightly oblivious CEO ML. I honestly thought this was a boring read at first—it takes around the first ten chapters to be really hooked, just because the text is so dense and slow (but it does blend in flashbacks and present time well—albeit could've been done more seamlessly). But after those 10 chapters?... more>> Man, the characters hook you. The MC is so so realistic, from being capable but also having his own insecurities and moments where he blunders (like the time he realized he had a crush and started living in lala world loll). ML is not this overbearing CEO—he has standards, yes, but as seen in the flashbacks, he's equally forgiving and nurturing toward capable ppl (*cough* our MC *cough*). He's a GOOD man Savannah. A GOOD man.

We gradually see their story unfold, bouncing between the past and present, explaining the MC's love for the ML and also the ML's unrealized care for the MC. Around chapters 20 starts the development of their relationship, both characters coming to term with their feelings, whatever that may be. The ML may be oblivious at first, but he is so so quick to realize he has feelings with more personal time spent with the MC.

The moments they share tells you they're meant for each other—they thrive in a quiet, comforting silence with each other, where every moment they have only further creates this lovely solace between them. Communication may not be the most exciting between them, but you certainly feel it's right—it's the type of communication I wish for: the one where you can just narrate your memories and someone would look upon you with just utter fondness; the one where you communicate ideas as partners on equal standing; the one where you notice the little fluctuations in emotion for the other and you immediately understand and take note of it.

Ugh. Love them. Such a comforting read that may be slow, but speaks a lot for what a relationship holds when two compatible mature adults get together. You really just feel for both characters in a way that they're a person across from you—their past and present fully complete them and their futures. Chef's kiss.

Minus.6 a star just because it was too dense for me near the end—it didn't feel easily digestible after ch 30 (once they got together), and I do wish it was. <<less

Soooo cute~ I like the calm protagonist, calm story. They are so sweet to each other. It's like... MC gives his heart to ML in silence every day and when he feels hopeless, ML pays attention to him, feel something different between them, try to understand what he feels and finally gives positive feedback. I like it. even when there's some dragging drama before they become a couple, I think it's perfect short time to think and calm their mind. This story really my type.

A very nice read, the MC has liked the ML for 8 years but was never able to express his feelings. The ML finally slowly realized what the MC meant to him. It’s a very sweet novel. Too bad the extras aren’t out yet.

All I can say is that I love it! I absolutely love mature characters. They are realistic. The MC is lovable and cute. The ML has a balance character. He's not your typical CEO who acts like a robot with minimal emotions. He's just lonely and I'm glad that MC is there to give him lots of love. Will definitely wait for the extras 😉

It's a nice story, with enough tension and chemistry at the beginning. Although in the later half after they got together with genuine love, their romance felt somehow... formal? Maybe because they're both mature or maybe it's just me, lol. Nice characters too.

Also, the transitions and fusion of the past and present can be confusing most times.
