I’m glad I finally got to finish this novel! I read part of it a while ago and it was so interesting. What stood out to me was prepping for the apocalypse , which is why I came back to read it.

it’s a very satisfying read, maybe a 4.7. Im sad the author had to cut it short but all the bases were filled and it wasn’t super apparent. Too bad most of the story included pre-apocalypse.

I’ll see what else the author wrote.

I was so hesitant to read this due to some reviews, but I'm glad I pick it up.

It's a pretty good story despite the rushed ending (something came up in the author's personal life) but I'm still thankful that the author still wrap this story quite well.

Many bad reviews about the MC, but I actually like him. He is selfish and not soft hearted, which I love it since it's very human if you understand where his part of personality come from.

And I also love the ML, he is level... more>> headed and so powerful. Not to mention he very protective and possessive towards the MC.

Overall I like the story :) <<less

Finished it at one go, but was left unsatisfied because the ending was too abrupt. Also I don't get why they need to go to the capital. It's better if the story focused on Jing Sa, the side characters are a lot better there. The story is good but so many useless things keep on happening. Gave a 3 stars because of the translators efforts.

I am currently on chapter 35 and so far I have been so annoyed by ML calling MC kitten this kitten that, referring to MC as "sister-in-law" in front of his subordinates. Before reading this I saw a review which complained about the same thing but back then I thought that it wouldn't be so bad, at most it would be cute to see ML holding MC dear. But now it really does irritate me so bad. MC is depicted to be cold, noble, and arrogant. The repetitive term of... more>> kitten is just plain annoying. Other than this, I am thoroughly satisfied with the book... <<less

I give it 5 stars for being emotional

I'm not gonna lie, the story lacks a lot to be complete, too many things unresolved and mysteries left up in the air, the MC and the ML don't have a personality for all tastes and their actions are not morally correct most of the time but I liked them because of that (obvious personal taste)

I would like more of the story but the ending was cut off too quickly but it was still enjoyable to read

I don't blame anyone if they... more>> don't like or hate the main characters, for everyone there are themes and actions that are untouchable in stories although for my part if this story was real life, the actions people would do would be a thousand times worse.

anyway I don't want to give spoilers, the story is not fantastic but it is entertaining, I recommend you not to pay attention to the contrary reviews and first read it to see what you think, you may like it or you may not! <<less

It's OK. It starts out extremely messy and absurdly slow, but once the apocalypse kicks off around chapter 35 it becomes more entertaining and the romance solidifies.

The setup of the romance seems quite disturbing but that was in the previous life while the current one is much more sweet and less horrific. Still, that setup plus the wildly slow beginning I can imagine turns a lot of people off.

It also ends quite abruptly. I only made it through the starting 30 chapters knowing it was complete around 130 but most... more>> of the mysteries remain unanswered by the end. Still, there were around 100 chapters of reasonably comfortable post-apocalypse adventure and saccharine fluff throughout (ignoring the setup). I won't be re-reading this one but I did think it was worth a read. <<less

the ending was kind of abrupt so I was left wanting for more. first of all, this novel is certainly not for everyone. It's a little dark as it talks about humanity, not to mention that the mc's character is really bad. Especially in the beginning. U wouldn't understand him at all and would even choose not to. i cannot deny that this story has a lot of flaws. There are some plotholes and some situation that wouldn't make any sense. There was even a time I almost drop it... more>> from losing so much patience to the MC and even the ml. But I hold on since I really like apocalypse novels. I can just advice for people who want to read this thag u shouldn't force yourself to continue this since it would really f*ck u up from distinguishing if the main characters' actions is still justifiable but just pure violence. i only started to like this when it reaches 80+ chapters lol <<less

I will start off by saying this was an excellent apocalypse novel. It certainly isn't for everyone, but the author really nailed how humans would behave in such an event. It is on the darker side of things, especially since the MC time traveled and is now jaded, ruthless, and a nonforgiving person having lived through hell and died in a place even worse than hell. The future-once-lived by him has sharpened him down to a point that he can direct with much prejudice. However, due to this he understands... more>> his faults and flaws and is determined to improve himself. The MC's character developement during the course of the plot as fairly static, only slightly changing around the ML. I have no issue's with how he presents himself to the world -an arrogant wealthy young master with a mercurial temper- as it's his armor, his way of protecting himself. I would have liked to see a bit more relaxition in his temper around trusted peoples that have proven to him their strictly on his side.
Spoiler

This is only accomplished by the very end of the novel in the extras and only for a few short paragraphs between Bai Jing and Wang Xuebing reunion upon getting back to Jing Sa City.

[collapse]

Although this certainly has romance elements, I would classify this more as an apocalyptic dystopian novel primarily with an aspect of time travel not really focused on. The time travel itself gets more subtle as the novel unfolds and becomes less of an important factor. The romance between the MC and ML is honestly a bit underwhelming in my opinion, slightly shallow in the beginning, but becoming a more mutual realtionship as the plot proceeds. I do think that Bai Jing and Xiao Sa a very much a good pair together and surprisingly balance each other out. What romance there was I did enjoy as it was often accompanied by comedic relief as the two bicker, Bai Jing with his thin face and tsudere attitude and Xiao Sa knowing exactly when to be bold with his lover and how to soothe his prickly partner after.

The setting is very well done and the plot well thought out (though there were certainly a few plot holes that left me wondering about life after the novel's end, but that's a personal quirk of mine rather than a true complaint). I rather liken it to the apocalyptic video game Days Gone, though having a more extreme and unforgiving environment.
Spoiler

Especially since the zombies are mutating towards the end to be intelligent enough to negotiate and communicate with humans, understanding them. Though the mutant and zombie dogs, birds, cats, plants, etc. Are very Resident Evil esque.

[collapse]

Over all I really enjoyed reading this, though I wish certain conflicts were a bit more dramatized (speciafically the ones towards the end as they had more to do with the MC's death that lead to his subsequent time-travel). A couple of people could have been villianized further to push this along, but I quite like how most of the people are characterized. <<less

It’s a pretty standard reborn BL MC apocalypse setting for the most part. It’s not the worst, but the weak beginning and axed ending leave a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t regret reading this despite the many plot holes which is the greatest recommendation I can manage for this novel.

There are some distinct drawbacks such as fluctuating and extreme character dispositions. Most of the characters are either too kind or too cruel. The MC is both. To be exact, it’s like he has brainwashed himself that he is... more>> a cruel and decisive person to the point that he can perform inhumane actions without hesitation when necessary, despite being rather weak willed at heart. He is so... hesitant that he doesn’t even trust the person who died for him in their last life with the full truth of his rebirth and abilities. It makes sense at first, but the fallacies stand until it eventually puts them both in danger.

Another drawback are some pretty steep leaps of logic. The MCs family situation is off the wall to the point that it doesn’t make much sense that he managed to survive so long in the original timeline. His father is willing to give to indulge him with upwards of 30 million on one hand, but uses the other to persuade his son down a dead-end path for his future and won’t even put in the effort to warn the MC of the ulterior motives of his closest people. Let’s not even bother to mention that the MC remembers all of the stock trends of the year before the end. Why does someone who paid that close attention to major stock trends only buy two stocks and then only check on them once?? Why is he strong enough to load up farm machinery with gasoline and operate it with only spiritual power, but not strong enough to enter physically? Why is the butterfly effect speeding up the apocalypse so much? Was he just that unaware in his past life?

The rushed ending doesn’t help. None of the ‘well-known’ cultivators from his last life other than the Lin family ever appear. The Lin family is also never mentioned again after they decide to help out university students, despite ideological re-education and the accompaniment of their son. The mutant animals and plants are off getting more intelligent and preparing to attack more humans, but never appear to the main cast again like it’s someone else’s problem. There are a lot of dropped plothooks like this. For example, even the main central theme of revenge is not fully resolved.

Spoiler

The MC does severely undermine the Zhou family’s foundation, but doesn’t touch his main enemy (stepmother) at all, unless she was at work when the research institute was bombed. The last few chapters instead push for a ‘zombie alliance’ narrative to resolve the main enemy facing humankind other than the lack of food. Speaking of, the MC probably destroyed all of the research about soilless cultivation and other solutions that might extend human survival thanks to his revenge! Worth it? No idea since the story is over.

This novel is a very good read, as long as you like comedy. The main focus of the story isn't really the romance, but the couple is very cute and I find their dinamic hilarious.

I specially enjoyed how they managed to introduce the struggles and horrors of a zombie apocalypse, but in such a funny and carefree way. Even tho there were some tense moments, they managed to make me laugh from beginning to end.

Also, the shocking revelations at the last chapters really expands the possibilities of the world and... more>> leaves you wanting more. I hope the author writes a part two! <<less

Compare to others apocalypse novel, this story focus on relationship and the dark side of human more than zombies. You will feel that MC is annoying with his arrogant and heartlessness in the first half of the story but he will become better as the story goes on. The air time for many side characters are not balance well. Some are too plain or even be forgotten. And there's many plots that still unraveled even after all story has end. But this novel is still good to read.

It wasn't a completely enjoyable journey but I'm still somewhat satisfied. It was a bitter yet a bit interesting to see that the main couple that are generally supposed to be the "good guys", doing things like killing innocent people without batting an eyelid when not in their right mindset. However, I am disappointed that the mysterious events weren't even close to being solved, MC's past life wasn't disclosed either.

I do like that the MC wasn't absolutely focused on getting revenge especially with his character traits... 🤔 maybe that's why... more>> the mysteries weren't solved because of that.╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭ <<less

I had the feeling I had alteady read it all the time while reading it, and just at the very end I realized I had read it alteady!!!

I don't usually forget the characters and the trama of a story but this is so cliché everithing was familiar yet not... I've read many many apocalipsis/zombie related stories so it's understanding I couldnt just pinpoint the details únic to this story but it really is too generic, I finished it twice but Def would not be a third time.

MC and ML are... more>> ok, the story is fine just too rushed at the end just when it start to get original and interesting.

Read it if you like zombie-abilities-power cuplé stories, it isnt bad, just not too original. <<less

It's a good novel for what it was and what it was intended for. Though I sometimes feel like unnecessary filler take up too much of the story's portion. The ending also feels a bit abrupt. I recommend this if you want something to pass the time.

I must say that at first I found it a bit boring, but it got better as the chapters went by. Regarding the characters, the MC really has a bad temper hahaha, sometimes I get a little desperate, but it also made me laugh.

I hope the relationship with ML continues to be that playful and fun.

I hope the end doesn't disappoint me.

Before reading this I didn't love too much novels about zombies and the Apocalipse, but afters this novel I changed idea.

MC was a child too spoiled but after the apocalpise and be traited he understood how much ML is good to him and after turn back he make all his effort to repair his mistakes e be also good with Ml.

This story made me feel the irony of life. Right now is 04/17/2020; close to the apocalypse time in the novel; and we we are actually facing a pandemic calamity similar to the apocalypse (= COVID19). And here I am writing this review while the whole world is under 24 hrs. Lock-down for an indefinite time.

I enjoyed this novel! It's a good apocalypse novel, where our MC is reborn and becomes pretty OP thanks to knowing the future.

There were lot of characters that I liked and the author created a good world which made me invested.

I liked the savageness and thought process of the MC (in most cases ?), though he definitely took a step back once the ML came and just became lazy.

... more>> Yet it was good fun seeing him fighting and exacting petty revenge.

The ending however was pretty abrupt (seemingly the author ended it in a rush because of personal issues). Lot of things were wrapped up too quickly, which took away some of the satisfaction. Still the author did give it a proper evening that doesn't leave you hanging.

Spoiler

I had really hoped to see the downfall of the Zhou family, which was just summed up in a few paragraphs in the final chapter. Also wanted for Xiao Su to find out about MC's past life, which doesn't happen.

[collapse]

There are a total of three or four translators who have translated it from the beginning, and most of them are all very good translations (except for a dozen or so in the beginning which seem more like MTLs. The last translator, has done a great job!

Definitely worth reading if you are a BL fan! ☺️ <<less
