Oh my god! How does this have no reviews?? The story is soo delicious, the MC is very... Haha, how to define this, he is young and doesn't understand, actually no, it's a very psychological book so he does understand his feelings but he doesn't want to accept them. It's such a simple story written soo deliciously. Rarely have books kept me up all night just to catch up!! Thank you so much translator-nim.

the MC witnesses his best friend/family/ the person he trusts the most, f*cking a beautiful senior and now he is tackling that, he is upset and... erect, but also both the MC and ML don't know how to communicate even though they are both possessive of each other, it's basically so fun to read lol

I'm not good at writing reviews, but I really wanted to write one for this story.

This isn't your typical romance with childhood friends to lovers, fluff or mutual pining. Instead, it's filled with misunderstandings, lack of communication, denial, bad at feelings, angst, smut, and love triangle (???).

They are best friends. MC was in denial about his feelings for ML refusing to acknowledge that he liked him as more than a friend. Meanwhile, ML was bad at feelings.

When MC saw ML having s*x with Jeon Chaemin, he was completely shaken. This led to a huge misunderstanding, believing that ML and Jeon Chaemin liked each other.

And when I say ML is bad at expressing feelings, I mean really bad, instead of confessing properly, he literally told MC that he wanted to r*pe him. The lack of communication between them is frustrating but fits the story well.

I didn't like Jeon Chaemin at all. He sometimes reminded me of Shi Mei from 2ha.

Some readers might dislike ML because of his actions, but I think the author did a great job making his character. He's insensitive and aloof which makes his behavior frustrating but realistic.

Both MC and ML dated other people. MC was in denial about his feelings, so he got into relationships without realizing he was actually in love with ML. On the other hand, ML was jealous but didn't know how to handle it so he either dated or slept with people who liked MC, including Jeon Chaemin.

I also liked Baek Seungha, MC admired and looked up to him. ML, of course was jealous and did everything he could to separate them.

I started reading Bad Hard Boys when the translation was only up to 18–20 chapters and had no reviews. I was hooked and couldn't wait to read more, so I read it on Ridibook (1 free chapter daily haha)

UPDATE: Finished the novel. Only extra chapters are remaining, which aren't free. ML's father is piece of shit.

Giving it 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

I knew what I was getting into, I liked, disliked and sometimes was indifferent. I have standards for romance novels, and this novel breaks some of it but I learn that being open minded isn’t hard for stories. After all, it’s a story written by an author trying to convey their messages or the journey of their characters’ perspectives through ways a reader couldn’t just understand deep enough. And I didn’t understand their characters, I stereotyped them through “red flags, green flags, yandere.. Etc” not understanding their motives deep enough.... more>> Do not ever stereotype characters that you could not understand through these words.

Reading this novel makes my heart aches, I hated everything about this novel and I wanted to forget it. MC and ML, I wanted to forget it all but I still read it to chapter 38 and will be planning to read it again. Why? It’s thrilling, drama inducing and characters like ML, I could never understand.

CHARACTERS

I will be only talking about the main characters, ML, well, he’s the character that made me feel like sh*t when I read this novel. First of all, his character is something I could never relate to, I would never be able to relate to him except be empathetic, and try to sympathize but really, how could I? His view of love is different from mine, he couldn’t expressed himself, slept with other people to subside his lust for MC. I.. Would never, I believe this kind of intimacy should ever been with your lover but reading BL has lowered my standards. They are much more hardcore than your typical BG, they are not the same as BG.

MC, he’s also as frustrating to read but, how can I ever hate him when he saw the person he was closed with, having s*x with a senior? His first thoughts wasn’t that he was betrayed or anything, he was just.. Disgusted and angry that ML didn’t tell him he was gay. I couldn’t understand him truly, but I could say I understood him a bit shallow.

Have a go at it, be open minded and don’t try to criticize something that isn’t your standards. Don’t hate a character because they’re “red flags” try to understand their motives, don’t limit a character to a flag. The authors are writing them with their hearts and money <<less
