It's absolute cinema. One of the best slice-of-life/comedy korean novels you can find out there. Of course, there's a certain audience for this, so not everyone will enjoy it, especially with the depraved jokes. But all-in-all, it was an entertaining read with not a single dull moment for me, which is all I'm looking for in novels.

Read this recently, and it's pretty great.

The basic premise is that MC is a forum mod for an 4ch-lite site exclusive to their college where students (shit) post stuff anonymously.

MC can be considered as pseudo-Hikigaya Hachiman, in that he's a loner and while he doesn't turn away from socializing, he'd rather refrain from doing so. He also monologues a lot. One of the better quotes in the novel is that "If you don't have friends, you are invincible" or something of that manner. It's because people in their college do... more>> typical stuff like peer pressuring and bullying by gaslighting. It doesn't have effect on him because he cares not for others opinion, and he doesn't have any friends at all to appeal to LMAO.

The heroines are cookie cutters, but they have their own insecurities and appeals. Won't spoil much, but they have pretty good arcs.

Give this a try if you guys like OreGairu.

So I read the mtl up to c200.

Some chapters are r-18 but the read is mostly light with some light comedy, no big drama involving the heroines. They are the proactive type. No reincarnation, second chance, cheat, system or whatever. MC is indeed similar to Hikigaya Hachiman from OreGairu at first but he does evolve gradually.

For those who had read the manhwa Circles, the general vibes is similar.

1. First 150 ish chapters were amazing. But then after foreshadowing the MC drama with his misunderstood ex-gf for 100+ chapters the author decided to write the resolution to be as unsatisfying as possible. The whole drama with the ex-gf was just a pathetic attempt to farm sadness point but it just ended up cringe and weird.
2. The ex-gf gets treated like punching bag by everybody (including the MC, his family, and his current harem) and she just took it despite being blameless (she got set up by his father/family and the MC found out and still didnt forgive her for some reason beyond comprehension).

   She went through hell to try and support the MC livelihood, so she had to temporarily cut contact and pretended to break up with the MC. But then abandoned and not forgiven by him even after hearing her reason for doing so.

3. The harem conflict got really stale and overdrawn without resolution in sight. MC is too spineless to choose a girl and too spineless to choose them all. He doesnt want to forgive his blameless ex-gf so rip best girl non harem route (legit best girl but is too pitiful to watch...).
4. What a waste of potential, at the end the MC turned into your typical spineless popular to all women self insert coward like usual. Waste of my time since the firdt 100+ chapters buildup was amazing, MC was really intelligent and cool at first but become s*upid later.
5. And lastly, bro I kid you not I think that the MC actually enjoyed getting physically assaulted and ab*sed by his harem members. After him acquiring the harem every episode is just him getting cussed and assaulted for trivial reasons. And I think he kinda liked it. And hes a grown ass man getting beaten up by women 2/3rd his body weight. So pathetic man.. both him and his ex are pitiful creatures..

This is peak drama harem. One of the few novels where I actually think it’d be worse without the harem. Each of the heroines are completely fleshed out characters and each of their dynamics with the MC is unique and well done. Choi Yiseo has a pure relationship, Seo Yerin has a h**ny one, Yu Arin has a relationship like best friends, Oh Yoonji is complicated. Even though each of the relationships are different, it doesn’t feel like it takes away something from the main character. It doesn’t feel like... more>> he changes personality with each heroine. Above all, I think the best part of this novel is how it depicts harems, and the problems that it has. A lot of novels just breeze past the polygamy part of a harem, brushing it off with something like “the heroines just accept that they have to share” or something like that. But IRL it’s never going to be like that. In this novel, the heroines never truly accept being in a harem, even though they are aware of it. Each of the heroines compromise their own feelings in order to be with the person they love, and the best example of this is Choi Yiseo. She has the most developed character out of the heroines, and she is the one who dislikes having to share the most. She often gets angry or jealous when the MC does things with other heroines, but whenever she’s with the MC, you can truly that she loves him the most, and that’s why she gets jealous. She does a lot of self-reflection so she recognizes that there’s nothing she can do about it and has to compromise, but that doesn’t mean the feeling of jealousy goes away. The MC also feels like a s*umbag sometimes, so you feel like he deserves everything that happens to him.

The comedy of this novel is also great. I feel like the balance of comedy, romance, and serious moments in the novel is perfect. The MC’s personality doesn’t come off as exaggerated while also being memorable, and although some of the side characters can be hard to remember, the situations that happen are always funny, especially when the MC is with the boys. <<less

A Reddit mod's wish fulfillment power fantasy pretty much. It's an unpopular man's idea of how a harem would be. MC is a self-proclaimed loner with below average social skill (despite what other characters are saying). He solves his problem by channeling his inner Ben Shapiro, using logic and facts to win arguments (and a fair amount of childish tantrums). I really doubt the writer have ever won any argument in real life. If you want actually good, well written, harem story then just read How To Ruin A love Comedy, this one ain't it. <<less

I really enjoy reading this novel. One of its charms is how each arc has its own little foreshadowing here and there which can be easily missed unless you look for it, and it slowly builds itself up until giving a satisfying end result. Also s*x.

the dynamic between the MC and the multiple heroines are also entertaining to read, with each heroine sorting out their feelings about their MC as well as deciding if they don’t mind sharing him with the increasingly obvious forming of a harem as the story... more>> goes on, as well as the tangled relationships between each heroine.

The minor antagonists of some arcs don’t go away either, and still get mentioned and are become part of the storyline as some of the happenings in their lives get entangled with the MC (for good, bad and funny).

However, imo this is very much a novel that you don’t read chapter by chapter as they come, but one you build up in a large chunk before reading in one go, since the author takes his time setting the story up.

also each negative point about the novel tomo_mo mentions gets explained/tackled on/solved in the novel later on so it’s sorta a moot point. <<less
