lt's all right

First and second volume feels excellent despite the overall level of MC strength seems high compare to other characters, it felt fair enough with all the advantage MC had at that time.

By the third volume and beyond, it gets derailed and become almost untouchable by any enemies that is many time more powerful than him, cause we have plot convenience. (That is painfully a lot more occurring than the combination of the first and second vol). Any old monster that is mention in vol 1 and 2 becomes... more>> irrelevant because of MC holy guardian (not the pine tree one, but a different one)

The MC doesn't grow, but rather very inconsistent. He's okay with killing but all of sudden he's worried that his pet killed someone. MC is quite demanding and shameless that overall never felt it very consistent.

There's also seems to be a lot of character that is either introduced to further the plot or simply for the sake of it being weird. Like if you remove these irrelevant character it wouldn't change much with the story flow.

I would say read it first and second volume, and then decide whether you want to continue or not <<less

This story is like fast food. The story is pretty shallow and quick paced but still an enjoyable read.

However, the translation is very rough. Names will often change from chapter to chapter and dialogue is often misattributed to the wrong person speaking. Sometimes it seems like sentences aren't fully translated as they suddenly end mid sentence.

So far this is a fun novel, the protagonist and his first spirit beast so far give off great partner in crime vibes as opposed to a master and servant dynamic. At the same time they both take ques from each other.
Spoiler

Protagonist is going to master a lot so if you enjoy characters that cultivate a lot of things then this may be your type.

  1. Good light-hearted novel, protagonist's interaction with his pet is just pure bliss and the story flow is rightly paced, doesn't feel rushed or sluggish at any point. As the translation is keeping up with the original novel, can't say much about the future but it's looking very good as far as I've read.

Not much translation error, the upload rate is quite fast too so it's really good pick up if you are into beast pets with a jovial twist (at the beginning at least)

This is a power fantasy through and through. It's pretty fun in the beginning, the MC has interest in many fields and seeing him grow in each one is very entertaining. However the battles start to get boring after a while, as most fights have no tension and end after just a couple of moves. That in of itself is not a problem, but the story also lacks good characters and plot. So once you get bored seeing the MC easily overcome most of his problems there isn't many reasons... more>> to keep reading the story. I read this because I felt like reading a weak to strong story, and it did scratch my itch for a while, but I don't think reading anything after book 2 is worth it. <<less

Absolutely phenomenal beast taming book. It has what most beast taming novels lacks, characterization and connections. Here, you can clearly see a relationship being established between the main character and his pets. The pets don't merely exists as fighting or producing machines, but rather have their own personalities and quirks.

I also like how the side characters are portrayed as real, they have their own story and aspirations. They don't merely exist as stepping stone for the MC but are genuine characters who also interacts with the world. They do not... more>> serve as ways to praise and showcase the MCs bravado.

Overall, this is a breath of fresh towards the beast taming genre. <<less
